Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Smokescreen Additional In-Package Images

User pc8440 of ACToys.net has shared some additional, higher resolution images of the Transformers Prime Beast Hunters series Smokescreen on his card. While we are still waiting for some pictures of the Autobot hot-shot liberated from his packaging, these new images give a much clearer look at the toy, including a good look at the headsculpt, the arms, door wings, and the blue "shadow quill armor" - these latest images appear to show clips where the armor attaches, implying it can be removed for a clean, show-accurate Smokescreen! The proof will of course be in the telling once we get actual photos demonstrating the feature, but all indications so far is Hasbro is giving us a show accurate Smokescreen with optional Beast Hunters spikiness.

Very nice, but they can paint the red and blue detailed 38 on the side, but not his red crests on his face.

But still very nice.

I was thinking that. Might have to see if a head swap with the Takara-Tomy remold is a possibility, because I think I prefer the look of the head on that one.

He's elevated from "no" to "possibly" in my book. Almost wish I'd held fire on the Arms Micron one now!

Gah, so cute! That poor thing (why so blue, Smokescreen??) needs to be let out of the package so he can beat up 'Cons and play immature pranks on unsuspecting (but deserving) humans.

I can't wait for this release.

Again, this looks like it might have potential. I'll eagerly await reviews but I might just pick this up if I can de-Beast Hunters him.

Also I'm still very surprised this even exists. Since Takara did the AM version I would have assumed they knew Hasbro was not doing a version of the character.

Not totally show accurate, but I'm sure people will paint him up to be the smokescreen he should be.

The new Beast Hunters figures/retools are quite nice overall IMO... but I gotta say... a number of the paint apps are... fuuuugly. Namely Soundwave and now the new Smokescreen mold.

Take it once Takara gets their hands on the BH molds... folks will want their repaint of BH Smokescreen... hopefully they limit stickering and add a bit more paint though...

Nice images this time.

I won't go crazy over the lack of 100% show accuracy, since this figure (to me) is WAY better than the Knock Out repaint/resticker. I will definitely buy this guy once it's out.

First and foremost, I am happy that Hasbro is releasing a Smokescreen to those US fans who didn't like or want to pay the extra for AM Smokescreen. Personally, I think I'm happier with my AM Smokescreen. It's probably the way its painted, but his face looks too much like Starscream.

This also brings up a couple of possibilities. Hasbro released a brand new mold for Smokescreen where Takara went with a repaint. I wonder if that means Hasbro has a BH Shockwave planned. Also speaking of Hasbro debuting a new character mold, I wonder if Hasbro will release their own version of Breakdown.

Looks promising so far. I don't see any checkerboard design under the 38s on the door wings but I'm sure Reprolabels will take care of that. Some of the color choices are a bit odd (like the blue on the head/face instead of red, and red knee spikes instead of black) but I suppose that's relatively minor in the grand scheme of things. Aside from the (presumably removable shadow quill armor), the sculpt on this guy looks pretty solid and accurate, faux chest notwithstanding. Consider him bought.

If that stupid beast spikey armor comes off this will be the first prime toy i have bought since series one. I hope it does cause i like this character AND mold alot. AND it will be one of the rare times Hasbro is BETTER than their takara counterpart.

Faux kibble or not, I need this. A good character like Smokescreen is not worthy of being a cheap repaint on my shelves.

He looks every bit the part... It was inconceivable they wouldn't do this red white and blue sports car figure... They(Hasbro) did promise they'd do all the characters and everyone should be patient...

Really good they spared him permanent spiky BH look, good decision there.

Wow, that head (paint aside) is more accurate than the AM version. It's fairly accurate, well painted aside from the noggin, and the blue armour is detachable. (Which makes it less "Blue nonsense I don't care about" to "optional play feature") I'm not into prime, but this looks like a solid toy by itself.
