Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters Optimus Prime Mask
We’ve been hearing and seeing quite a lot of Toys from the upcoming 3rd Season of Transformers: Prime. But what about Role Play Accessories?
2005 Boards Member hardreturn is bringing us something very cool from Walmart; Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters Optimus Prime Mask.
Priced at US$ 14.92 this new Optimus Prime Mask features a pull-down visor and it appears as though it has replaced his regular Mouthplate. It’s hard to tell at the moment, but again… the color Green is emphasized.

Odd face sculpt for Prime, but not bad with the visor down. It has an almost alien look that I really dig.

For customizers, just take the green part, and use it as a new sinister version of the Green Lantern mask.

It'll be interesting to see if they're really overhauling Prime, or if Hasbro just doesn't care.
Recall that with DOTM we got a bunch of heavily redesigned battle versions of existing characters that had almost no relation to them onscreen. I'd been kind of assuming this might be the case with the new versions of old characters we've seen. But somehow this seems even weirder. Time will tell.

EVERYTHING about Beast Hunters looks horrible. the regular toys, the dress-up masks... everything... far as I am concerned, Transformers Prime series ended with the Decepticons winning. All Hail Megatron!

Product clogging shelves not withstanding (because you do have a point there), we adult collectors conveniently forget that the core audience are kiddies. Kids like role play, especially around Halloween. We collectors may avoid masks like the plague (or so the voluminous product on shelves proves), but kids do buy them on occasion. Otherwise I doubt they'd make them. Y' think? 
I recall as a kid loving to run around the house dressed as my favorite superheroes, so why wouldn't other kids? In other words, chill on the sarcasm- ye who are too cool for school. We get it, you're too good for this stuff.

I just get annoyed when I see something that I know is going to sit, and clog pegs. Like the DOTM bash bots. Though I'll admit some of that isn't Hasbros fault so much as it is retailers refusing to accept that something isn't going to move(TRU unleashing like four boxes of the last wave of DoTM deludes this Christmas was just sadistic.). That and I've been more jaded and a hath as of late, admittedly and it's bleeding through in unintentional spaces like here. That said, if I had a kid, I'd admittedly likely buy one of these for him, and one for myself to run around with him.

Awesome for the kiddies, but not for me. I just can't get on board with all that green; that and I'm not entirely sold on the new face sculpt. I'm waiting till season 3 to see if the new designs will grow on me. Till then, this is an easy pass.
