Transformers Prime Beast Hunters "Final Chapter" of Prime; new series coming late 2014

Our fellow fans over at the Allspark get the credit for digging up this bit of news. The latest edition of Kidscreen magazine contains some news on Transformers Prime Beast Hunters including the fate of Transformers Prime itself. The article puts forward that Prime season 3, Beast Hunters, will now only contain 13 episodes and it will mark the final chapter of the Transformers Prime series.

That being said, the article goes on to say that a "new iteration of the animated TV series" is due in late 2014, and while there is no word on what this new series might be, chances are it will be set in the Aligned Continuity. With all the effort Hasbro has put into creating this cohesive continuity for Transformers - a continuity presently covering two novels, two prequel video games, the upcoming MMOG "Transformers Universe", three comic book miniseries, 65 episodes and a TV movie - it is unlikely that the Aligned Continuity is going away so soon.

I hope the new series is a continuation of Animated. DO IT HASBRO.

I thought Combs said Season 3 wasn't the last season.

Impossible. Miracles do not happen back to back.

Sideways77
Sad for the Prime fans. I'm more interested in the new animated series.

Maybe he meant to say that this won't be the last time we'll see the TFP universe. Maybe that we'll have a sequel series to TFP next year like how Beast Wars was to G1 and Beast Machines was to Beast Wars.
Escargon
What I want for a series finale is BW and Animated Megatron teaming up and killing everyone in TFP. But I know it ain't gonna happen. Still, glad it's finally ending.
FanimusMaximus
It's ok, no Transformer series ever has had a full 4th Season anyway.

Yeah, "new iteration of the animated TV series" seems to imply it's a new iteration of Prime.

It says Beast Hunters is the FINAL CHAPTER of the TFP story. Meaning there won't be anymore TFP after S3, if this is to be believed.

Personally I'm pumped and already excited for whatever this "new iteration" might be. Hopefully they'll change production teams and drop this aligned continuity garbage. If this is true, of course.
eagc7
the new show could still be set in the aligned continuity just liek Rescue Bots is set in the same verse

i know but i would like TFP to be the first but that not going to happend...
Escargon
I want the Vehicons to actually do something. They have such wonderful personalities (in the commercials.).
Asher Tye
That would be upsetting...

Prime is currently my favorite incarnation of the franchise and I'd hate to think it would get wrapped up with plot threads still dangling... plus I'd miss the characters. Hopefully this little rumor gets crushed like it deserves.
Shatterpoint
I think we should wait for the official word before assuming anything.
Escargon
Or it could be the truth and then I would be happy.

But then I wouldn't be. You can see the conundrum we're in.
Escargon
Here, lets ask Cyclonus:

Hey Cyclonus, this guy thinks TFP is a great series.

Cyclonus turns head toward you.

"I will kill you. And don't think you'll see it coming, because you won't."

Wow, that Cyclonus dude sure is morbid.

Back when the majority of the fandom was still alright with Prime, it was suggested that there be a "joke" episode where the entire plot is just following one Vehicon going around the Nemesis just trying to complete the most mundane task imaginable (like delivering Decepti-mail or something to all the named characters) and it's like every possible thing that could get in his way, gets in his way, and only at the end of the episode does he accomplish his task and collapses out of exhaustion.

I still feel that would have made for a better episode than say, either of the recap episodes.

A second opinion seems necessary. Let's ask Megatron. "Oh Megatron, is TFP a geat series and a worthy successor to the Transformers franchise?

MEGATRON: Yeeeessss.

See, straight from the T-Rex turned dragon's mouth.

Clip shows are easy to outdo, but I did like this idea for an episode when I kept seeing going through the forums.
Escargon
Oh, wait that was Negative Megatron, Megatrons loathsome copy. Now you feel silly, don't you?
Asher Tye
Bet the one that's a helicopter would also agree with me.
Escargon
That's Shattered Glass Animated Megatron your talking about.

so someone on my twitter retweeted this and as i read this artical

13 episodes of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters due to launch this year represent the final chapter of the Transformers Prime story.

if true this is sad
i would like to see a 4th seasion

but...
But that's note the end for Transformers. Arnesen says a "new iteration of the animated TV series" is slated for delivery in late 2014, which looks like it might be shaping up to be the year of Autobots, given that audiences are already expecing the fourth live-action blockbuster in July.
I just wanted to point out that Transformers Prime is an animated TV series. It may not be traditional cell animation or drawn on a computer to look like cell animation, but it is still an animated show.

Just because the current story arc is ending, doesn't necessarily mean that this cast and crew are also ending their duties, does it?

Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters may be headed where Beast Machines took Beast Wars (eg: new a change of story and setting).

EDIT:

Why would Polygon buddy up with another animation study to handle the extra work load of TFP, if the show were ending after three seasons, a 13 episode season?!
Escargon
Yeah, but Beast Machines was a better show.

I disagree, but that's a whole different matter.

I'm just saying that things might change in the same way.

The Allspark: Transformers News Movie Comics Animated - Beast Hunters to End Transformers Prime Storyline, New Series in Late 2014, Beast Hunters Trailer

In a bit of late news from Toy Fair, the special edition of the magazine kidscreen has revealed new information about Hasbro's plans for the Transformers Prime TV show:

As for Hasbro's established stable of series, which drive the programming on its US joint venture network The Hub, the 13 episodes of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters due to launch this year represent the final chapter of the Transformers Prime story. It has grown to encompass 65 half-hour episodes that continue to roll out around the world. Look for a 75-minute Transforemrs Prime Beast Hunters movie to hit DVD shelves in Q4.

But that's note the end for Transformers. Arnesen says a "new iteration of the animated TV series" is slated for delivery in late 2014, which looks like it might be shaping up to be the year of Autobots, given that audiences are already expecing the fourth live-action blockbuster in July.
Escargon
Yeah, BM was way better than Prime. Things you people must be on.
ErbFan28
I hope this is just the next chapter in the Aligned Continuity story...though the fact that there's a year between Prime's end and this new series' beginning has me thinking otherwise
Escargon
Oh man i all alone with a bunch of guys who like tfp! What the hell do i do!?
soundwaverulls
Could it be true. Could the world be kind enough to rid us off this pile of unused potential.

I doubt it but if it does happen, I would let out the biggest BW Megatron "yes" in the world.

Actually Season 3 will have 16 episodes not 13 but yes that's a good point you made about Polygon partnering up with another animation studio for a short time if the story of the TFP universe is at an end.

Just curious but, have we had any of the Animated series last more than 3 seasons.. 4 tops right and that was just G1.. all others were 3 or less.. and I figured as much for this series also.. but, I thought it would be 3 Primes and then start BH but, guess I was wrong..

Go to a different forum?
Gepard
Fine by me. Prime is terrible, so bring on whatever creative team comes next.
Megastar
Another good cartoon gone to early and I can't be the only person tried of TF series only lasting 3 seasons, it's almost whats the point of watching of it isn't gonna last long?
moreprimeland
Folks discussing this in the TFP forum too...

Actually I've been feeling that way for a long time. I hate the constant reboots. You can barely get attached to characters.
MegaMoonMan
Good. The toyline had a lot of junk and a lot of it was impossible to find.

I'm okay with this. Hopefully the next show is better.

Wouldn't that then mean he's a character with automatic good taste? Therefore his opinion would be more valid.

I'd actually forgotten Polygon had partnered up to deal with the workload! That's a good sign.

Wait a minute. ErbFan28, did you just say there was going to be a year between Prime and Beast Hunters? A time skip?
Megastar
I can't believe so many people are happy their canceling Prime for some new seires we knew nothing about. I think i'm done here.
robo_rob
I'm a little disapointed, though one has to wonder what's to come?
