Transformers: Beast Hunters Trailer - A New Prime

Awesome.

Looks cool - although it wouldn't be the first time a trailer for a new Prime episode is more exciting than the episode itself. Cautiously optimistic for now.

By the way, anyone know what the song is they used? They have used it a couple times for Prime trailers already,and I've heard it elsewhere - but I can't seem to find the track. I assume it's something from Immediate/Two Steps From Hell / E.S. Posthumus, but I haven't had any luck yet.

It was gone for me as well when I tried playing it from the thread. I then clicked the Youtube button which opened a new window to Youtube and the video was there.

Interesting, very interesting. Part of me is actually hoping that this is going where I think it's going, but at the same time there's evidence to the contrary. Will just have to wait and see.

Also, while I appreciate the Star Trek reference, and while I understand wanting to alter the phrasing to better suit the situation, they pretty much botched it. Oh well, at least they tried...right?

I get the feeling that trailer only spans the first 3(5 at most) episodes. They're probably just holding back on revealing stuff like Optimus Prime's upgrade to make this trailer more dark and ominous, though to be honest, I would love them to elect a new leader. I've been wanting them to change things up in this franchise for a while now and do something controversial.

Interesting theory, but does the robot body change that much when receiving the Matrix of Leadership? The "New" Prime looks like the regular Prime, but different in areas.

Either way, if the final season is just half as good as this trailer...it will be worth watching.

We don't know. I assume physical changes don't magically undo themselves when the Matrix is depleted, after all. They did for Rodimus Prime, but that's the only example where that's happened in fiction.

Even if this is just clever editing, DAMN it's a great trailer and exactly what was needed to get my attention.

What's more likely to happen is that Smokescreen (somehow) sacrifices his own spark to bring Optimus back. Maybe the new Optimus will have part of Smokescreen in him... They did say Optimus was going to act different this season, didn't they?

Does anyone else find the line "They outnumber us 100-1." A bit odd, there's always been an army of Decepticons and a small group of Autobots.

If it's written properly, granted, I'll forgive a lot. I have low expectations despite how hyped the trailer has me, so if I'm pleasantly surprised then I'll be pleased.

Certainly looks really exciting, and the art looks great for this season. As for Optimus, I have a feeling he won't die, but he may pass on leadership for a while until he comes back full force.

Although, who knows, if this is truly the end to Prime, maybe the writers have been given free reign to make whatever stories they want. Anything could happen in that case.

Though I can't actually see Prime dying, I'm getting reminded of how S2 of Beast Wars began - namely, with an INCREDIBLY hopeless situation for the Maximals. Primal was dead, and they barely managed to fend off Megatron's depleted forces.

And then Megatron recruited a couple fuzors, brought Blackarachnia/Inferno/Tarantulas back into the fold, Tigatron and Airazor went off on Adventure Time!, and Rhinox went into a precarious life-and-death state to bring back Primal...

Sure Primal came back after 3 episodes, but man, "Coming of the Fuzors" was amazing all the same BECAUSE he was gone and the Maximals were in dire straits due to Megatron using the obvious strategy of "assault the enemy base full force".

I'd really like OP to be right there, and us see the emergence he speaks of but I don't see it happening. Because "toys" and "logo" and all. It'd be awesome if Hasbro could keep something that big a secret. But no, much more likely OP just gets repaired into his bulkier BH self.

-ZacWilliam. Also. Prime can be a decent show but I absolutely HATE the "dead" Universe it's constructed to explain the lack of other CGI models. Arcee saying the war means there mostly aren't any other bots aside from "Team Prime" out there to help just blows. At least it sounds like the BH comic will involve groups of survivors in hidin on Cybertron...

Not really, actually. While the 'Cons always outnumbered the 'Bots, Prime's crew always had each other and the security of the base. But now that they've been chased out of house and separated without a leader or backup, that difference of numbers becomes more prevalent, so to speak.

Anyway, I'm am totally RUNNING HIGH ON EXCITEMENT. I CAN'T WAIT. I CAN'T WAIT.

Smokescreen may have a a part in help Optimus. He may have something else "in" him like the Omega key was.
If they pass the matrix to Smokescreen and he becomes the new Optimus Prime that is seriously cheesey. Smokescreen inside, Optimus outside, yeah no.

He'll go offline for a bit or something happens and gives him the Pimp My Optimus treatment.

Indeed, I hope Prime is out of it (one way or another) for a little bit because it ups the stakes so much and will makes his re-entrance all the more grand. They might not be allowed to though, as I recall, they had to argue hard for Optimus to not return immediately in BW.

My guess for now is: Ultra Magnus steps in as the new Prime (that's why his character can wield the Forge of Solus without too much effort - Bulkhead was seen lifting it but it took him incredible effort), but Optimus gets rebuilt and takes back charge later on.

True, but this is an age in which IDW has gotten away with moving Prime to the sidelines for the past year.

Prime's toys WILL sell inevitably, and I expect he WILL return.

Theory I saw over at the Allspark is that he makes someone a Prime who then uses the Forge to rebuild Optimus. Ultra Magnus maybe?

Even if he survives, suppose he survives as A Prime but not THE Prime? As in, he passes on leadership but when he does come back, he doesn't take back the mantle for himself.
