I find it kind of cool they won an award before the whole thing even began.

Wow we posted this at the exact same time. We should probably get these two threads merged

From two different sources. I am just happy Transformers Prime is getting some recognition.
Valkysas
Not quite sure how they won an award for "background design". Outside of the bases which are mildly interesting, all of the environments are boring and lifeless. They absolutely did not deserve that award.

Character animation and storyboarding? Yeah, those are legit wins, and congrats to everyone on the show for those.
KnightHawkke
Hey we have an emmy winning show going, better make damn sure we get the hell rid of that as fast as we can!
Josh
well if anyone wants to see a sliver of what works gone into some of the backgrounds check out this guy's gallery

Unfortunately, that stuff is rarely in the show. Most of the time it's empty desert and an empty town.

Now it's just empty desert. They destroyed the town, remember?

I bet the Hasbro execs are grinning from ear to ear. (and thinking about how to capitalize off this) Hopefully this means The Hub will get an even bigger budget with special focus on Hasbro's flagship franchise, Transformers.

Emmys don't equal ratings, or success. Example: Dan VS. was a critical success and had a pretty good sized fanbase, and even just won an emmy, but was cancelled.

I have to agree. That's always been my main issue with the show - it doesn't have much atmosphere. It's well made however. The same issue drags the new Ninja Turtles down way more since that takes place in a big city where very little ever seems to be going on. Just comes with the territory, I suppose.

I shrug.

Dan VS. got cancelled!? NOOOOOOOOOOOO
gokuz23
Damn 17! Nice one
shroobmaster
Why would Hasbro execs be happy about this? Now they can say EMMY-AWARD WINNING SERIES on the DVDs, big deal, doesn't sell more toys, kids don't buy EMMY AWARD WINNING figures.

Last I heard, they said something about trying to make another season not to long ago.

but yeah Congrats Prime. If only Animated was lucky to of won these awards.
soundwaverulls
Well, I can't say the show doesn't deserve them. But notice it isn't winning any awards in writing.

Nerds not watching them doesn't really mean anything. Unless you're saying they have it out for nerds?

I haven't watched any of those shows but looking up Martha Speaks, it sounds creative and educational. Childish and silly =/= bad.

Exactly. Doesn't really mean anything. Martha Speaks winning means nothing in the same way that if a show you liked was on that list also would mean nothing.

Emmies? They don't matter period. They don't. Some guys in a council chose what they liked in random categories, that's it, they're no true indicator of quality, they're just opinions of people. They will get mentioned in a few press releases and that is the end of it.

Which means that your underhanded "lol didnt win writing my internet opinion has been validated" kind of comment also means nothing. At the end of the day regardless of what Emmy people say they don't decide what one should like and they certainly don't decide what's good.
SPLIT LIP
Backgrounds? Yeah, that's a crok. Some of teh backgrounds are interesting, but it's mostly generic alien ship or desert and mountains.

Now storyboarding and character animation? Yeah, I'll give them that for sure. Especially character animation, since that's where, honestly, most of the personalities come from.
Escargon
I think the backrounds are bland, but yeah, the character animation is pretty good.

Hey, if it did win an award in writing, I would have called bullshit. I don't let them tell me what to watch either. But I would assume the people who make the choices are professional critics.

Way to go Hub!!! And congratulations to my all time favorite show, Transformers Prime!!!

If Animated were the diamonds, sure.

Still, I congradulate the team for doing this, even if the show isn't my cup of tea.

Congratulations on those Emmy's!

That will not blow over well here

Prime deserves these. Though I'm shocked that Korra didn't get as many nominations, let alone awards.
GAUGE
all these awards and awesome recognition and yet, The hub is still cancelling shows left and right.

I don't get it.

It's like they are operating using NBC's Handbook on poor business practices or something. *smh*

Congratulations!

Congrats to the TFP winners.

Aquabats tho?

How lame, only technical nods and nothing for the performances

I'm sure some of the cast will get their recognition over the next two days at the BTVAs. Television and General will be announced later today (Thursday) and Friday, respectively.

Yes, Animated sucked with all it's CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AWESOME CHARACTERS, and MOVING PLOTS! Go Prime and it's wasteful deaths, boring plots, and bland characters!!!

(I had to)

Congrats to Prime I guess? It has some great backgrounds, I suppose.

Word of warning here. Saying that will not end well in TFW which has a VAST majority of TFA fans.

Well really it's just not cool to shit on any series at random, unless it's Energon.

Congrats to Prime. It sucks that you are ending so soon but at least you have 13 episodes to end your tale with (unline Animated )

Keep up the above the line work Hasbro and thanks for caring.

I see your Energon and raise you and Armada and Cybertron.

I do admit though that Armada at least had the last 13 episodes that were actually enjoyable and Cybertron was (and I say this being very generous) watchable. Energon was just a very bad and very long acid trip that I would prefer to forget.

That's true. I mean I'm not a big fan of Armada nor of Beast Machines but I get why some people are into them. We all have opinions and you really shouldn't to bash any series that way.
