TFW Transformers Prime Weaponizer Optimus Prime Gallery

Weaponizer-Optimus-Prime-46
We have great pleasure in sharing with you another new Transformers toy gallery this evening! With many thanks to the hard-working TFW content staff member SyndeyY, we have a gallery of the hot new Transformers Prime Weaponizer Optimus Prime to share with you. This toy (and the Bumblebee in the same series) bring back a "larger than Voyager, smaller than Leader" scale of toy not seen since the Ultras were phased out. It's a good solid Optimus Prime with a fair bit of pressence to it, and the weapons which can be deployed in either mode are a lot of fun according to SydneyY!

They say that a picture speaks a thousand words though so head on over and check out our gallery!

If the backpack wasn't so big it'd be great. As it is, pass.
NEST SOLDIER
I really like the design, although I am disappointed in Hasbro's reduced design structure of hollow joints and limbs. Other than that, I like him. He really looks good next to ROTF Leader Prime.
TheGame2K5
I hate how they did the legs, they could have at least put in a joint to fold the wheels back or something. I might bite on a sale for this but not full price.
godzebu
Oh come on Hasbro!!!!

Fake window, with vehicle window section just folded to a giant backpack, exposed arms at the back of truck, hollowed out legs, and tiny hollowed out unpainted weapons on the almost a leader class size figure??!!!!

We KNOW you can do better than that! :-(
scypris115
The legs are REALLY bad on this figure.. they're hollow and they don't look right in vehicle mode. What the hell was Hasbro thinking? The gimmick is pretty cool though.. but thats all I like about this bot. Sad..
Omega Charge
He doesn't look too bad. There's a couple issues including the backpack and legs, but for only $30 I might grab him (even more so if I find him on sale) and probably throw a little paint on.
SydneyY
As hollow as the legs are, they still hold pretty good and he is very good at striking some action poses. Arms and legs are very articulated, and while turning head is a bit difficult (shoulder gets in the way and the neck joint was very tight on mine) it can be done and he can look sideways.

This toy will be great for the kids and the parents. Not too much more expensive than a voyager while it is a much taller toy (I understand how HasTak had to skimp on plastic...) and all the efforts are made to look the vehicle and the bot mods look great at least from the front.

So he's stable in most stances then? I ask because of the rear support pads for his feet, and the rear truck kibble that extends his center of gravity.

yup, agreed. As I don't have any kids yet (not any love child etc ) that I am aware off... I think this is a certain pass, even for this hard-core TF: Prime toy line completest.
GreednGluttony
like most things from the prime toyline, it's a complete peice of shit
miscreant
Listing on Smths' site indicates UK and Ireland release is soonish, for those of you who care.

...and some of those who don't, can't articulate their frustrations without embarrassing themselves.

I wouldnt say that. A few maybe but not most
Dormamu
Step 1: Buy figure

Step 2: Take gun.

Step 3: Paint gun black

Step 4: Give to voyager version of Prime.

Step 5: Give rest of figure away. If scalper scum, return figure to store for refund, putting candy bar/marvel legends figure in place of weapon.

So you just paid 40.00 for a gun for your voyager.

Now that I can agree on.
TylerMirage
I know I'm going to get flak for this, but I really like this figure. The backpack is huge, yes. But it doesn't appear too ungainly. The back part of his vehicle mode is 'hollow', but as long as it doesn't affect the rest of the alt mode, I'll survive.

Hasbro, my money is on the front step. Just leave the box. Thanks.

i will also say that, as a wheeljack fan (all wheeljacks) prime wheeljack does not dissapoint
Plainsjumper
I think this is decent enough. The backpack shouldn't be as big a deal because it's actually being used as a backpack to store weapons. The legs could be better but they look ok from the front.

Oh yes. All the pictures in the gallery were taken without any use of support. he didn't fall down, either. The feet can balance well, and the legs swivel
GreednGluttony
also, whats with hasbro not giveing characters mouths? (most prime optimuses and deluxe wheeljack)
nemesisconvoy
I'll get me a couple of them....Is there a release date for the US yet?

Its most likely because they want to keep it original (G1) At least I think..

Well I do think Hasbro will be releasing Prime without his mouth plate, but it will most likely be Orion Pax

hopefully they'll do the same for wj, maybe they could jusify it by giveing him some new weapons, i'd gladly welcome it to my wj collection
GAUGE0001
looks like they created the gimmick of the toy first and just built the entire thing around it. While I think it's very cool, especially for kids who have quite active imaginations....It's a pass from me. But only because I love the more adult collectibles like: MP Soundwave.

Awesome toy for little kids.

Horrible toy for picky complaining man-children.

your quote is full of WIN. esp the part where 'man-children' are concerned! LMAO.
catz
probably the first time I'm going for takaratomy only instead of both
Enigma2K2
.. and they still want to give us everything but the First Editions....
phoenix88
Honestly, the only things that are irking me about this figure are the unpainted pea-shooter gun and the unpainted feet. thank god for black gundam markers. Likely gonna buy this when/if i see it
Kalel
I've done a review of this guy, check out my sig
PrimulArchangel
he looks cool .. But why does everything have to have a gimmick now ? All that hood gimmick does it take up space that could have been used to hide the arms in truck mode. Really wish they would forget gimmicks all together and just focus on a better bot mode... This is a maybe figure for me if i see it on clearence most likely..
artiepants
first i was like ~ oh, he's not so bad ~ sure the backpack is big, but i could probably live with it; then i saw the truck cab booty and all the hollowness, yikes. The exposed hands are pretty bad in truck mode too, especially since it looks like some hinged panels on the backs of the legs could solve both of those problems...

They sure could have

Glad to see this bot in the news...SydY loves dropping pics of him on my wall..

He's wonderful, but I ordered the clear one.
Grimwing
I think he's cool. Probably better than my first edition in some aspects. The vehicle mode is gorgeous and a closer scale to deluxe cars.

It does of course help If you like the spring deployed rapid spinning gun backpack for a very Powermaster Prime overkill Super robot Optimus Prime style.

I think I'm going to enjoy the mechanism in this case. The voyager light up weapons have been a let down in display execution. But at least there is a massive action feature other than lights or sounds alone. Some collectors just take the batteries out anyway to prevent corrosion. I still have two MISB Animated Ultra Magnus that I am worried about leakage.

Wreck and Rule for Wealth and Glory.
BW megatron
Hasbro, add some paint!!!!! The mold looks very good, but the detailing (paint) is NON-existing!
ClutchKick
THAT...is an unbelievably big back pack. Still, flip out shoulder cannons...

I saw this at target last week and it was an easy pass because the FE aesthetic was superior IMO. Funnily enough target is selling this for the same price as the PRID version I think.
TacomaPrime
I wonder if I could remove all the backpack parts, since I would display him in robot mode all the time.

Agreed. This might be good for kids, but it just has no place in my collection.

Wait...So this is the same price as a voyager?

If so...Than that changes things. I might bite if its $20...I just have a hard time believing they would sell this at that price
Hypershock
First Edition Prime's fake chest not lookin so bad now, is it?
From the front, this guy actually isnt that bad, but the back of his truck mode and the gimmick-necessary kibble make this a no for me.
Jack Darby
Yeah his back pack is really big but I'll probably still end up buying him and I'll probably pick up Bumblebee as well. Hope these hit the US soon but I read they wouldn't probably hit until the fall.
