Swoop is in Fall of Cybertron ... maybe they meant the FoC toyline?

It's conceivable Japan will roll the WFC stuff into Prime rather than give it a seperate line. It's also conceivable that it's a mistranslation or a shortening of Deadwing's name or something like that.

While Dinobots would be very cool, Swoop was the last one of these I'd make a Voyager. Sludge would be the first choice there.

If it is the dinobots you have no idea how they're going to be in Prime. for all we know at the minute Swoop could be the leader in prime . Or it could be they all get voyagers...or it IS just another character with that name in japan (which is the more likely at this stage)

Isn't that what Hasbro's doing? I figure Takara will follow suit, save for deluxe figures, Takara's boxes are the same, at least they look the same. Any rid figure that isn't part of the powerizer line probably won't come with an Arms Micron, but will be carded like the rest.

In Japan, Swoop's name has usually been "Swarp", right? Maybe somewhere along the line someone saw "S warp" and decided it was "Swoop"? It could just be a Skywarp repaint of Voyager Starscream?

A Voyager Swoop might be nice - the only thing I'd ponder is that now Voyagers are so small he'd be barely bigger than Energon Swoop and might be the same size as the G1 toy probably.

It's probably a new Autobot named Swoop. Not every name has to have G1 connections.

Not totally impossible, but TakTomy has been diverting from the English TF names less and less ever since Optimus Prime became "Optimus Prime" over there.

There's already an EZ Collection listing for Dreadwing, so the Japanese name for Dreadwing would appear to be Dreadwing...

Hmm i dont know how to feel about this. It could mean if it is a prime swoop figure we wont see FOC swoop (if he was planned at all) which could spell bad news for other FOC dinobots showing up. On the other hand it could mean we get both versions and to be fair i do collect prime toys too.

No. Hasbro's FoC stuff has entirely different cards from Prime, we've seen them. It might end up being part of the Generations line we've been promissed for 2013, but they're definately seperate from Prime over here.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out. I'm thinking the most likely answer is this is a mistake still, but there's just enough chance it's not to make your ears perk up a little and pay attention.


-ZacWilliam, ideally I'd want Deluxe Swoop, Voyager Slug, Snarl and Grimlock, and Leader Sludge. But that's not likely to ever happen. Heck I'll be pleasently surprised and thrilled if we get all 5 in any form.

We didn't, people are making presumptions. Grimlock has been hinted at by actual Hasbro reps but that's it really.

Probably just a voyager starscream repaint.

Swoop hasnt been mentioned but grimlock has been heavily hinted t and they are really wanting to push FOC too. Im sure it was mentioned that FOC made up a sizable chunk of the generations we will be getting. I thinkmit was at one of the convention Q&As

However remember:

The Dinobots are a HUGE deal in FoC. They've been pushing them as a major attraction of the game since it was announced. The other main attraction of the game, Combaticons merging to form Bruticus, is definately getting figures and that was even more of a stretch than the Dinobot toys. Add in that every time Hasbro's been asked about us getting FoC Dinobot toys since the game was announced they've gotten all coy and given a kind of winking "you'll just have to wait and see (smile)" answer. So no, it's not confirmed but it seems to have very decent odds.

Now a possible listing for a Voyager Swoop shows up. Of course people are gonna connect the two things.

Haven't we seen this entire page? He's not on it! I'd love to see swoop come out, since so far this year my wants list is made up entirely of cons.

you never know, its listed as august this year i believe but FOC is next year. Maybe, just MAYBE we might be spoiled with both versions with it being a year apart. doubtful but no more of a stretch then combining individual combaticons i suppose.

Interesting. This is definitely a bit of a surprise. They've mentioned that the Dinobots are a possibility for TFP's future, but I honestly wasn't expecting to see any of them in any form till season three started. Hopefully this isn't just a repaint of Starscream, as I fear it probably is. Wouldn't entirely make sense, but it also wouldn't be the first TFP repaint Takara has done that has no connection to the show.

Please be FOC Swoop.

i want pics. hopefully he's at botcon though. i'll definitely order him unless he's a repaint of SS. i just can't see him like that in Prime. it sounds very likely that Asia is just mixing the FOC and Prime lines and that's what i'm hoping. btw, what does "AM" stand for?

Why is there no Wheeljack at all in the arm micron series?

well, considering they have built the marketing of the game around Grimlock, I would hope they make a FoC toy of him.

I imagine it's likely just a Voyager Starscream (or maybe even Megatron) redeco, likely with a new head.

If it's a new mold though, I'm very interested.

If it really is Voyager class, then I highly doubt it'll be FoC. There's not way they'd make 5 voyager class Dinobots, whether or not it agrees with scale. And if there was only going to be one Dinobot, it would be Grimlock, not Swoop.

He might be a part of the "40 generations toys" next year.

I just stared at my G1 swoop for a minute. He is smaller than a typical deluxe. No way any voyager is that small.

It is more dignified, composed or rational t think that sort of thing would never happen, and I often try to point out in my mosts where I'm just wildly batting ideas about and that I mightn't really cling to them like a wannabe prophet lol. However I think that sort of conjecture, used smartly, is good for a process of elimination.

The question your post made me think of is, 'Sure, maybe we won't get one specific Dinobot as a Leader Class figure, but what better candidate do we have?' TFA and the three live action movies in turn consistently held down the slots for any Leader Class toys, but I wonder where they will fit now, if at all.

If shrewd and more conservative ideas decided all on these boards, I'd say without a doubt that the possibility of Voyager Swoop being infact a mistranslation of Skywarp would be the most likely by far, though I have a few points about the other main possibility here.

Not to blow the concept out of the water, but if this were Swoop in his FoC form, that would set two precedents: 1) Arms Micron and 2) Voyager class figures being incorporated into the WfC aesthetic generally and FoC toyline sepcifically speaking. That said, with the Combaticon's inclusion; a combiner, FoC toys are making bold moves in expanding on where WfC counterparts left off. Also as was noted when some Beast Wars type releases arrived in the United line, Takara has their own ways of interpreting products for their own domestic audience; Arms Micron could show up wherever they please. I guess this all comes down to how closely or distinctly any of us see TF: Prime releases from those of WfC and FoC with regard to the aligned continuity.

PS. After first reading about FoC in Gameinformer and seeing the new designs for Optimus Prime and Megatron I thought about the old 't sell toys' ploy for a moment. Then I saw Grimlock. I asked Shadow more or less if this might be an all too convenient opportunity to make three FoC Voyagers. His response was 'Very probable.' However, since we now know that FoC Optimus Prime will be a Deluxe release, either he's destined for a seemingly less likely Voyager (unless the Movie trilogy's penchant for characters getting multiple figures is passed on to FoC) too, or Voyager Swoop - of all Dinobots - is pretty unlikely.
