Prime Beast Hunters Wave 2 Voyager Assortment Confirmed, Pre-Orders Popping Up

Several days ago, we first reported that Shockwave would be the new release featured in Wave 2 of the Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters Voyager Assortment. This was based off of a listing in Previews.

Courtesy of TFW2005 sponsor BigBadToyStore, the assortment breakdown has been revealed on their pre-order page for the assortment. For those worried that Hasbro would shortpack Shockwave and make him impossible to find, worry not! Shockwave will come two to a case, with one each of Optimus Prime and Predaking carrying over from Wave 1.

The pre-orders for the various Voyager Wave 2 collection currently carry a February release date.

I'm thinking we might get our first look at Voyager Shockwave tomorrow, either by Facebook or that toyfair that is displaying Beast Hunters.

FOC Shockwave is pretty cool but too short to fit in as a classics Shockwave.

^^ This. I liked FOC Shockwave quite a bit, but it just lacked the heft & height that the character seems like it should have. Hopefully this one will be a good size and plausibly 'classic.'

Actually I've seen several at Target but I'm not a fan of Shockwave in FOC especially his dinky flight mode body. Most of the FOC have been disappointing to me. Shocky looks much better in Prime.

Cool! If Wave 2 comes with a nice selection of figures, I may just hold off for now and get a case instead of (more expensive) individual purchase through BBTS.

Shockwave's CGI design does have spikes on him, particularly the head "horns", wings, and especially his segmented arm cannon hose. I think you meant to say hopefully he doesn't come with lame-o beast armor, but if he does, maybe it can popped off like Smokescreen's armor.

Well, now I feel kinda stupid spending all that time looking for FOC Shockwave. I hope this is a good toy and not like any of those crazy ass beast hunters designs we've had thus far.

Okay going to admit I first read it as Voyager Soundwave.

Reading it's actually Shockwave has me extremely excited. Since his first appearance I've wanted him to get a figure. Let's hope it's not like FOC Shockwave. I really don't want to have to stalk Hasbrotoyshop to get him.

In the mean time that's pretty much me right now.

Well - I have high hopes for Shockwave, after having gotten the first two Beast Hunters Voyagers.

Really intrigued to see how he turns out.

That was a deluxe and it is confirmed that this Shockwave will be a Voyager.

If its anything like unicron and there rubber you will be able to peal them off... Lol

I might hold off on my pre order for predaking and optimus esppley if ordering in a case ends me up with spears

Think I'll cancel my pre-order for Beast Hunters Voyager Prime and Predaking with BBTS and hold off on those until they get pre-orders up for the Shockwave assortment. Might be easier and/or cheaper to get Shockwave in a set of three with the other two, rather than on his own.

You know, given electronics are still clearly a consideration for Voyagers, going off Grimlock, and how little space lights take up these days (they were able to wedge them in Grimlock's head after all)...

Would anyone be opposed to Shockwave having lights built into either his chest or gun? Then we could maybe get a lightup eye/chest.

Well that's no surprise at all. The big question is going to be is what his alt mode is. I'm hoping for a tank myself. I'm also a bit disappointed that there is only one new Voyager in Wave 2.

Speaking of which, where the hell is Beast Hunters, anyway? The TF shelves at all my stores are utterly devoid of life.

Have you folks considered the 2013 Botshot/Jumpshot Shockwave might be based on the Prime version of Shockwave ? and that the Cybertronian vehicle mode he has might be a similar tank.

But you never know he may never be shown to Transform at all and he might only ever be in 2 eps and then get killed off by Predaking to show how hard he is with Shockwave having never Transformed.

After all if you have Shockwave unless they play it for laughs between they why would you need Knockout still ? it does not bode well for one or the other to me.

Oh yeah Voyager Shockwave. FOC Shockwave can now officially stay with the Classics guys from now on.

I have a feeling that he'll be designed like Smoekscreen with the spikes being just attachments you can easily take off so he can be Season 2.
