Takara-Tomy have unveiled a new Transformers Prime Arms Micron Present Campaign. This one is called the "Shining R.A. Rainbow campaign", and it is being done to coincide with the release of Arms Master Optimus Prime next month, who features an Arms Micron Shining R.A. as his partner Micron. There will be four more Shining R.A.s given away at participating stores. The four versions are Shining R.A. R, Shining R.A. GR, Shining R.A. P and Shining R.A. Y, named for the four colors featured in their decos (red, green, purple and yellow respectively). They are available in the usual fashion with the red, purple and yellow decos being given away at their respective stores for a purchase of 3000 yen or more on Transformers Prime Arms Micron products, while the green Shining R.A. is a giveaway for purchasing Arms Master Optimus Prime at the appropriate store.

Sigh...

Anybody know how I might be able to get in on this for not hundreds and hundreds of dollars?

Warpshard posted about this earlier in the Toy forum, so maybe he should get a news credit too?

It won't cost you hundreds and hundreds unless you go through BBTS, where it probably will run you $200 or so. You can wait and see if/when these show up on eBay...they'll probably initially go for about $100 for a set of four but could slowly start to sell for less (like the earlier Shadow microns) or you could have purchase a set from a middleman like Bodhar and avoid missing out on them if these aren't so prevalent on eBay (the Hellflame microns STILL haven't shown up from what I've seen). You'll have to pay a little more (I think I paid $120-something for mine, maybe $130-something, I forget) but you'll have them in hand without going going through online retailers who will charge an arm and a leg for them.

The Hasbro mainline toys don't have the ports that the Takara versions had added expressly for the microns, so perhaps not. All of the microns do have pegs that allow them to be held by most figures, so it's possible. I wouldn't count on it though.

The Microns usually fit pretty much as well in the 5mm holes as well as they do in the Hex-Ports.
And in many cases you don't really need to put them in the vehicle mode anyway.

I personally juggle my RA Micron with the Hasbro one all the time - I've even sometimes swapped the legs over on my Ratchets so they both have a few ports each as Ratchet already has 4 Holes in him - Micron Ratchet has 8 if you swap the legs they get 6 each.

I'll be getting what ever OP Microns I can track down as I prefer a Micron over a Poweriser weapon and RA happens to also work very well with Optimus Prime as well as Ratchet.

But to be honest the RA Micron looks good with most things.

Yup, that's the catch now with waiting. Up until the Hellflame microns, every campaign release had been pretty easy to acquire several weeks after it was released (hell, even now, several months after some were released). The Hellflame microns threw a giant monkey wrench in that trend.
