We broke the news of a MMO Game based on Transformers: Prime, few months ago. The reveal came back in November about this game being developed by Net Dragon on behalf of Hasbro.

Today, 2005 Boards Member Tekmen is bringing us our possible first look of two Character Renders from the game; Optimus Prime and Megatron.

For more information, you can head down to the Discussion Board and take al ook at the links posted by Tekmen.

I'm rather curious as to exactly how a Transformers MMO is going to play out, especially on such a currently limited universe as Prime is.
Alienbot
Well it's certainly a good way to feature more characters. I suppose the third evil faction would be MECH?
spiritprime
Very interesting. I look forward to it.
Skyjack
I agree Starscream NZ however...look at what (PRIME) did with Breakdown and Wheeljack. Whose to say they won't just take every character they can and use it for whatever purpose they see fit?

I'm not. MMO Game backstories are ALWAYS random crap pulled outta nowhere, just ignore the story and focus on shooting some "third faction that nobody will buy toys of" ass.

This is supposed to be a browser based game isn't it?
Sideswipe91
Any idea when this is coming out? Havent played an MMO since SD Gundam in Korean haha

Nope. There's two MMOs being made, this one by Net Dragon and some other one that is browser based (forgot who's making it tho)
amethysted
I'm fine with that.

Considering the three movies are over. And possibly that whole continuity...

TF: Prime is cool w me! That Megatron is awesome! Frank and Peter FTW!

Nice mixture of Movieverse and Animated styling...

New story?

I'm ready for any new Transformers!

I think the game can work fine if set on the three years where Megatron left left Earth to search for Dark Energon.

Autobots must search to destroy it, 'Cons must search for their almighty master Megatron.

The whole game would basically be re-wakening of the Great War, making 'Bots stranted in all parts of the galaxy start a new war against the 'Cons.

Something like Pirates of the Caribbean MMO [that is set between the first and the second movie, showing how the East India Trading Company acquired so much power in the second movie].

Pretty cool!

Jagex, the guys that made Runescape.

it will be simple to make a TF MMORG.

Give fans a few various customizable options to start their characters off. obviously not allowing them to use existing characters as a base. then as you progress you can customize your look further with armors, weapon add-ons etc. really it won't be that difficult.

the good and evil classes should only effect the quests on a minor level honestly.

personally I think they should have us all play as humans not transformers. it would make the game dynamic a lot more interesting being caught in the middle of an interstellar war an all.

I say the big feature of this game should be customization, I mean, this is Transformers! The franchise known for its loads and loads of characters all with their differences.

I also say: Allow players to customize the voice of the characters.

It's not that hard to program that and it would make the game very different.

The Fanhate would go through the roof with that.
Besides, in PRIME reality, 'Bots are hidden from Mankind, only Fowler knows of them.

And we can't have a MMO with Fowler only to play, can we?

Maybe a Hack'N'Slash/Thirt person shooter talking about how Fowler destroyed the Nazi on WWII, but not an MMO!

Anyone familiar with the general quality of games developed by Net Dragon? Never heard of them before.

So the only thing this game is relating to TF: Prime are the designs? Everything else (story, etc.) will be completely new and unrelatable?

I have the misfortune to be one of the beta-testers of Netdragon's games, Heroes of Might and Magic Online.

HOMMII and III were some of my favourite games, so of course, I had high hopes...

They basically turned an interesting turn-based strategy into an endless grind, with boring battles and an insipid upgrade system (you have to actually LOSE units in every battle, so that you gain souls to upgrade them in your castle. Makes perfect logical sense, yes?) There is no castle building, no towns, no resources on the adventure map, you just go and kill enemy stacks and the occasional (always respawning) enemy hero. PvP consists of you battling another player with both your armies stacked to the max, in which case, usually the guy with the higher level wins, because the game (like KIng's Bounty) has Leadership limiting how many units can you recruit. Most high level players just run around with 7 stacks of archers or Black Dragons... The three months of beta testing have been incredibly boring, but I kept hoping they'd change the system as everyone pointed out how unenjoyable the game was.

And then came the last nail in the coffin... after having us US and European guys test the game for them and point out the flaws on the forums, for 3 months, they revealed the game will only be playeable from Asian countries. Of course, they knew that from the start, but somehow let this be not mentioned...

I followed the status of the game still on the forums, and even today, it is full of bugs and is horribly boring to play. Their other games, like Conqueror Online, are not any better.

So, THIS is Netdragon. I am amazed Hasbro choose them to do a TF game. They must have some wizard of a PR guy.

Oh, and check this out. Apparently, Transformers started out with Armada in 1984. http://tf.91.com/activity/image/1984.shtml

This...does not inspire me with confidence.
