Polygon Pictures Joins With Silver Ant For Transformers: Prime - Beast Hunters

So they're expanding their studio to other countries to deal with increased demand?

I'm honestly surprised it took this long: even My Little Pony moved some of its production to...Singapore? by season two.

Given Beast Hunters is a shorter season, I'm guessing this means one of two things:

1. The workload is increased THAT much on BH (new assets/characters/etc)
2. Polygon's been getting more work as a result of their work on Prime, and needs to expand.

I just think its kind of Amazing. With traditional Cell animation and a trained eye, you call tell the subtle differences in design when different animation houses produce different episodes of the same series. however with a CG series, it will be interesting t see how apparaent (if at all) the differences are. All we have seen is the teaser from NYCC. I'm curious now to know, was that Polygon or Silver Ant Animation?? I would like to see a sample of something from TF: Prime animated by SilverAnt to see if it is up to par with Polygon.

Well that's cool. If nothing else it's probably to get the new models done on time.

Really though, It was my understanding that TF S3 was due to air in February, and here were only 3 months out. Am I to understand that S3 hasn't been started on yet, or are they merely helping to finish what's already been started? I just hope it's ready in time, and that we don't have a massive delay.

Other possibility: This studio, being in Malaysia, is willing to do the job for much cheaper (and hopefully at comparable quality).

Oh wow... I have a friend who worked in animation. I think he actually worked for these guys. I'll have to confirm if this is the same company...

If they can help Polygon Pictures keep up with demand and keep the quality up, awesome news!

I must say, however, that after watching that video someone really liked Finding Nemo and borrowed A LOT from it. Wow!

With luck, this means that we're getting more characters.

As well as new environments, since they have to finish modelling New Kaon.

Hopefully this isn't a case of Polygon handing off designs and models to a lesser animation company to save costs.

I was under the impression that they were quite far into the production of Beast hunters... or is that not the animation production. Curious what stage they are at with the completed episodes?...

Obviously as a fan of TFP I'd prefer the first one to be true, but hey, both options are good news.

The images looks like Disney's Nemo and somehow the pictures, to me, aren't "very crisp, sharp, and clear".

I guess I'm used to seeing darker colors with contrast colors that could be it.

Because the pictures kinda "flow into each other" it could be the underwater scene, possibly".

TFPrime was announced today to move away from 3d animation and go towards a stylish new flash based animation style.

Like I said, it makes sense: it's not like Transformers: Prime is their only production. On top of helping with Clone Wars, they're also the studio animated Tron: Uprising. Plus you've got games, films, other TV shows...they're getting bigger with each passing day. Expanding to other countries is a natural progression. I'm just surprised it took this long.

Will Japan get season 3? I'm sure it doesn't want to end its run w/ a cliffhanger.

It may be a mix of reasons, but we know Polygon has to have something already since they showed a teaser at NYCC. If this addition prevents a delay in coming to broadcast without diminishing quality, I'm all for it.

As long as this news doesn't harken a precipitous drop in animation or program quality... I'm fine with it.

It's good to know some of my country's local talents having the opportunity to work on a project with worldwide recognition. Hopefully they can keep the quality on par with Polygon or even better.

I thought Disney said there's no more Tron Uprising to show. - If there is a second season that would be nice - but the big gaps in eps made the show drag a bit for me.

Back on topic this is cool news. Having another studio work with Polygon Pictures can possibly help it's budget to increase a lot.

That's obviously not true because season 3 is in the same 3D animation.

Sooner or later, everything makes it to Japan. WHEN is the real question. Could be years.

I'm sure it will. Chances are they're dubbing it right now and it'll be like April or so for when Season 2 finishes and Season 3 will air in Februrary (I'm sure of it).

I don't think it'll stop till Beast Hunters ends.
