Concept artist Ken Christiansen has posted a bit lengthy yet informative update regarding his involvement with Transformers: Prime.
“…I, along with other artists, got asked by Hasbro to draw some ideas. Those ideas all got thrown into a pot. My involvement is now over.Hasbro takes that pot across the hall to Hasbro Studios, and gives it to the studio guys, and says “take the best of this, and mix it with whatever you guys have on the stove.” They take what they want, and over the long development process, ideas are re-purposed, expanded on, or simply ignored. That is the nature of the creation process.
Like everyone else, I had to wait until SDCC to see the clip of the show, the only final characters I’ve seen are on the Hub – I did my work and was done many months ago, and now I’m seeing the new and final character designs as you all are, when you are, with fresh eyes, and as a fan excited and inspired by the next evolution of Transformers…”
Important: Folks, keep in mind that the sketches we saw yesterday are just Fan Art only. The title “Artist Ken Christiansen On Transformers: Prime Concept Art” emphasized his contribution and you have to read the Article to get the big picture, saying that it was Fan Art inspired from the series, not for the series.

Best cartoon style TF artwork I've seen in a LONGGGGG time. Far prefer that style to Animated, and I liked animated.
It's a bit more stylized than the finished CG stuff we've seen for the actual Prime show (almost a given when dealing with actual three dimensional modeling that needs to actually transform…much easier to make pieces that fit together when you don't have to worry about them "bending" into stylized shapes), but you can see that it's following a similar aesthetic.
I especially love the Jazz. I hope that future incarnations of Transformers stick with the "split" front facia vehicle mode motif. It's true to G1 while letting the chests be a bit less bulky. I'm really glad this kind of thing was introduced with the movieverse on characters like bumblebee and barricade.

crap they were fan amde, so we they have no decent degins for the show..

It's funny he had to go through a big explanation like that, given it was more or less clear in the original post that the sketches were not official. You know…If you actually read it.
lol Oh internets.
It's a shame he's not officially on the team though. I hope some of his stuff in that pot of ideas get used.
I also hope he still posts those decepticon sketches, though. He's stuff is still cool to see.

Welcome aboard, Sir! I wrote the title to emphasis your contribution as a Concept Artist. I see that many had jumped to the image without reading the whole article. I guess we can't blame 'em for only reading the cover without looking at the content of the book. I'll keep that in mind when writing Titles next time. I'm sorry about the confusion regarding my part guys!

Yeah…even throughout this thread you can still read people mistaking this for actual Transformers: Prime work.
BadflipKC
Yeah…that title is a little misleading. Those sketches were not in any way a part of any official TF : Prime work. I just did those last night, 8/22, on my own, and purely as an exercise. There's no chance that those images will become in any way official or a part of the universe…I read a few posts that may have just read the news title and jumped straight to the images.
Just wanted to re-clarify…but I do appreciate the comments.

I wish they would have at the very least used something more like that head for Bumblebee on top of the movie styled body so Bee could have a little more of the good old Bee charm.

I really dig everything I've seen here.
TFW2005 looks like a "cool place to kick it".
Sideswipe80
While I'm interested in Prime I miss the real Bumblebee.
ReaprPrime28
yeah.would be cool if someone out there redid generation ones art style.not that generation 1 is bad,i love it,just I'd like to see what it would look like in this era(same story of course) and those drawings just made me think of how cool it would look.
Autobot_Wall-E
That Bumblebee would make sense being in the WFC continuity. The actual one not really.
Jazz is really cool I like it.
Inferno is nice but Bumblebee and Jazz are my def favorites.
Ktulu
Pretty cool stuff
Yeah those G1 Bumblebee homages sure have been all over the place, geez
MekaGojira3k
