Hub Press Release with details of Beast Hunters Predacons Rising TV Movie

Posted on 03-20-2013 at 05:16 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Prime
The-Hub-logo-300x168
The Hub has put out a press release with details of their shows going forward (including airing "Wizards Vs Aliens" by former Doctor Who showrunner Russel T. Davis). This naturally includes some details of Transformers Prime. Coming in Fall 2013 is the conclusion of Beast Hunters, Predacons Rising. The 90 minute TV movie is described as an epilogue to the series that wraps up the story - which to this fan sounds suspiciously like it might well deal with any last major hanging plot threads.

Also a bit of news for Rescue Bots fans - season 2 is mentioned in the release as "premiering this winter".

Check out the full press release here. We've mirrored the Transformers-related portion below:

“Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising” (Hub Original Family Movie – Animated)

The eagerly anticipated conclusion of the CG animated Daytime Emmy® Award winning series will make its network television premiere as a Hub Original Family Movie. A 90-minute epilogue to the final season wraps up the series that chronicles the epic battle between the Decepticons and the Autobots in their mission to defend Earth and one day restore their home planet of Cybertron. The Hub Original Family Movie is produced by Hasbro Studios. The final season of “Transformers Prime Beast Hunters” begins on Friday, March 22, 7:30 p.m. ET.

Sweet.

So is the 90 minute epilogue the last 3 episodes as a "TV Movie" or is it in addition to the 13 episodes?
kaijuguy19
That's cool.

So when does it get released?

We most likely aren't going to have a specific date until they have a more definite release schedule for the normal episodes. Don't forget, after just four episodes, they are going to be taking a break. The most likely don't want to announce a date and then have to push it back.
Hot Shot.
So there will be more preds in the show after all. A pessimist like me has to wonder if it'll be a Hasbro-mandated cram-fest ala "The Rebirth".
Sumner Sturgeon
Totally called it. Both on the movie being separate from the Singaporean premiere thing and Predacons being in the plural.

Can't wait.

Although it could be bad if the first 3 US episodes are the Singapore movie, and obviously there are more Predacons since there is a Predacon in each of the first 3 waves of BH Deluxe.

thanks for sharing

Nah-- what applies to Singapore's network has no bearing on the Hub. And I've been saying that for a while, but it's tough to tell with the budgetary concerns and how hush-hush things have been about season 3 past the third episode.
Snaptrap
So, the season looks something like this?

1.Darkmount, NV (15 March 2013 in Singapore; 22 March 013 in America)
2.Scattered (15 March 2013 in Singapore; 29 March 2013 in America)
3.Prey (15 March 2013 in Singapore; 5 April 2013 in America)
4.Rebellion (12 April 2013)
5. . . .
6. . . .
7. . . .
8. . . .
9. . . .
10. . . .
11. Predacons Rising, Part 1 (. . .)
12. Predacons Rising, Part 2 (. . .)
13. Predacons Rising, Part 3 (. . .)

I was thinking predacon rising was seperate from the show schedule as it's own entity.

Yeah, I thought the press release was pretty clear about it not occurring till after the season was over.
kaijuguy19
I think I rememeber about the Predacons Rising movie airing in the Fall from an interview once a month ago. Course it may just tells about it being on DVD in the Fall.
Sol Fury
Yeah, it says epilogue rather than conclusion.

Also did anyone spot the news about Rescue Bots? Season 2 premiere in Winter!

Looks like EP 1 / 2 /3 in the US are equivalent to the first 90 minute episode/movie that aired in Singapore. If you've already watched that, time to wait for episode 4. ;(

Given that they called it an "Epilogue," I'd have to agree.

What the huh? o_o
Griffin73
Beast Hunters is going to morph into the next series which will be some Beast Wars / Beast Machines hybrid incarnation. Problem is, I thought Beast Wars was lame. The toys were terrible and the CG was bad. Let's hope it's better than the one that was on the the 90's.
EnergonWaffles
Wait a min.

The movie thats supposed to wrap up this series is called "Predacons Rising?"

That sounds like a title you'd see at the beginning of a series (like Darkness Rising), not at the end O.o

I'll be interested to see how they wrap up the Predacons rising in 90 mins
Grimlockprime16
So is prime over after this season?

With a title like 'Predacons Rising', it does sound like the chronology of G1, where Predacons rose to be the dominant faction as the Decepticons fell apart....hmm.

Everyone has their opinion about the BW show, but you can't call the toys terrible - they were the jump in design, following on from late G2 toys, that cranked up screen-accuracy and articulation, paving the way for the modern TF's that people gush over now.
Cal
I wonder if it will be anything like the Animated episode by the same name....

I assume that a wrap up follows the intended 13 episodes, closing up the incomplete season/series.
Griffin73
I believe Peter Cullen called Beast Hunters the "tip of the iceberg." So, I take that to mean there is more to this story. If the toys do well, we will see lots more Beasts. I have a feeling the Dinobots will be the big stars of the next series. Maybe that's why we've seen such a build in the TF universe with them.

GAUGE
I really wish folks would stop yammering about the dinobots being in this show.

It's NOT happening. Accept it and move on.
Bountyan
pfft it's just going to be the Animated episode Predacons Rising airing three times in a row.
gokuz23
So it's an after the main series 13 episodes special event, nice!

FUUUUUUUUUUUUU YES

Jeff Kline mentioned a long time ago that they were talking about doing a film for the series. Seems like that talk has been officially confirmed after all. Yays!
FMA1987
I think the film is actually going to be at the beginning on March 22nd

You cannot be serious.

I was right; "Is the Beast Hunters movie just the first three episodes?" has officially become the new "Does Shockwave's armour come off?".

Yes. Blackarachnia and Waspinator show up and get into a power struggle with Predaking while Airachnid wonders what the hell is going on.

This is the only thing I noticed in the article...really? How the hell did season 3 of Prime start so soon but it's over a year for season 2 of RB? I know DC said maybe fall since they were still recording but damn!

Given the airdate I'm guessing its an additional 3 episodes... Season 3 was probably going to end on a cliff hanger with the Predacons winning which would carry over into series 4... but now they've done a TV movie in order to explain what happens.

CGI takes less time to make than hand drawn animation. Its one of the reasons that we got TF; Prime in CGI in the first place.

Pretty much. I'm guessing Transformers Prime was at one point scheduled to have a fourth series and they ended series 3 on a cliff hanger with the Predacons winning. Predacon's rising will probably be an epilogue covering them battling the Predacons.

Yep - they probably planned It from the start and reduced the episode count due to this.
UltimusPrime
Has anyone noticed with a shortened season that the quality of the CGI is bumped up just a bit? I guess no one will really notice until it premiers on the HUB in HD tomorrow.

I noticed it even with the crappy quality. Much, much more attention has been paid to the background especially. Even the gestures of the characters and facial expressions improved. And dat fire!

I think that's due to Polygon sharing the burden with Silver Ant though, and not due to a shorter season

Same here, and I'm also inclined to think that it's the result of Polygon having some extra help from the other studio. Given the fact that other Predacons have seemingly finally been confirmed, I think this help may have also allowed them to potentially make more characters models as well.
VaderPrime1
I like that they're doing a movie to finish it off. I just hope it's not rushed. I don't want any magical way to beat all of the Predacons and Decepticons all at once to just fall from the sky.
