I love how tremendously passionate he always sounds about the entire industry, and how humbly he always positions himself as just a small part of this industry, for example when he notes nearly every major incarnation of Megatron over the years and when he names almost every main member of the Prime cast, probably because he has worked with most of those actors several times. I always appreciate reading interviews with Frank and he seems like such a positive and uplifting guy to be around!

Frank's a classy guy, there's no doubt about it.

Best Megatron voice actor of all time. No one even comes close in my book.

Also TF Prime Megatron is THE GREATEST incarnation of the character ever.

Frank Welker is one of my heroes. It's his sheer passion for the field that makes me want to become a voice actor.

Frank is, and shall always be, the best Megatron.

I really would have liked to hear Welker voicing Megatron in the Bay movies. But, I'm happy he's on board for Prime. And, best Megatron? It's Welker, and its not even close.

I believe in the special features of the first movie they have a clip of megs synched up with a G1 clip to show how it didn't sound right for the movieverse. I agreed at the time, but keep in mind this was way before PRIME came out, and the way he's changed it slightly for Prime makes it the best version so far.

Maybe if you only stopped at that part of the answer. He went on to say that Hugo Weaving came off as being out of touch with the fanbase with that remark (and frankly that is pretty normal for Hugo Weaving).

I think Welker does the best Megatron G1 voice, and the best TFPrime Megatron voice... but I also think that Hugo Weaving did the best movieverse Megatron voice, and David Kaye the best Cybertron Megatron voice... and Corey Burton the best Animated Megs... etc. etc.

But as to which "incarnation" of Megatron is the best? It's really getting difficult for me to choose one, because I just think they are all awesome!

Frank Welker is the only G1/Transformers Prime Megatron. Hugo Weaving is the only movieverse Megatron (unless you count games with which, Frank Welker did, but with a G1 voice). David Kay3 and Corey Burton were the only Megatron's for the shows you mentioned as well. How can they be the best at those when there were no other choices?

My point is that I'm happy with who they cast. They are all talented voice actors, and all deserve to be considered the best "incarnation."

If Welker had never taken the G1 role in the first place, then what's the bet that whomever would have taken that same role, would have become fan favorite?

BTW, who the heck thinks it's a good idea to turn into a hand held gun that's almost always wielded by the guy wanting to replace you? lol just seeing what replies this gets

Yes, as well as Scooby Doo and Fred, Dr. Claw, a bunch of G1 characters in addition to Megatron ranging from Wheelie to Soundwave, in Disney's Alladdin he was Abu and the giant Cave of Wonders tiger head, numerous voices in Animaniacs like the security guard Ralph, countless animals in a very large number of series and movies (You hear a dog or monkey, it's most likely him), Muppet Babies kermit/skeeter/beaker, The Real Ghost Busters slimer and Ray Stantz, Ducktales Big Time Beagle....

If I listed everything I would probably fill up this forum. But in the animation world he is considered a voice acting god. And rightly so for a man with a vocal range from Wheelie to Megatron

A con so badass he knows he will always come back to beat down any insubordination (Let's face it every Megatron of note I can immediately think of has done this). He's not making himself vulnerable, he's daring Starscream! XD

Frank Welker's G1 Megatron in my opinion sucked but in Prime he finally sounds amazing and badass,

I'm glad Frank was finally able to pull of a Megatron that didn't sound like he was dying.

Seriously he deserves the title of voice god.
