Courtesy of ACToys, we have in hand images of the upcoming Voyager Beast Hunter’s Optimus Prime. This figure will round out the first wave of voyagers in the Beast Hunter’s line along with Predaking. Shown in the pics are Optimus in vehicle mode and a couple of robot mode pictures showing that his trailer bits can become a winged jet-pack.
Check out the images after the break
UPDATE: An ebay auction has gone up for Beast Hunters Voyager Optimus Prime and includes our first images of the figure in packaging. From the back of the box, the figure includes: Ionic Pulse Blasters, launchers that attach in both modes and a star saber.

Hhmmmm. Bet it's easy to fil in the mouth/smirk/gap ith apoxy/greenstuff, et al, and paint it oover in silver.
Also just realized, the blue is close to the blue plastic takara usually uses on prime.
Valkysas
They don't roll anywhere near as well. The only figure I have that has clip on wheels that rolls well is Knockout. The rest slide down slopes with the wheels not even turning. I'm sure other people have different results, but they're really hit-or-miss. This never happened with pinned on wheels, unless something was dragging under the figure.

Still getting used to the face, but this looks pretty cool.

Now that is optimus prime !!!

This version of OP began to grow on me as well. Once I saw it transformed correctly and in some dynamic poses, I thought, other than the face, that's pretty good.
Hasbro needs to get TJ to take the photos of their stuff.
I still however stand behind what I said previously, and that is that these versions including Optimus, will not appear in the show and are just meant to fill out the line.
Reaper Cloud
Not too many spikes, but if the transformation is very basic…then I'll pass. Before I had zero interest in this Voyager, but now it's about 50/50.

Here's some more comparison photos with the first edition prime as well. Looks like they (Chinese) share the same gripes about the head sculpt too. Described it as looking like a skeleton.
Below is a doctored image of OP's face mask. I think I'll be doing that for real when I get mine.

Indeed.
As for voyager Prime, he's beginning to grow on me, I might pick it up after all.

If there is any flash from the molding they roll like crap on hard surfaces (and not all that well if there isn't). Plus they look really cheap and just scream knockoff to me.
Upside is they are great for customizing but that's just not me and I would say 95%+ of all the people that buy them.

I love him so much. He looks like a Prime Star Convoy and he's just great. I love the wings, I love the bulk and the yellow under his windows, the Star Saber looks awesome and he looks (in my opinion) to be one of the best Prime figures we've gotten since FE Prime, Bulkhead, Starscream and Mainline Vehicon. I can understand why some people don't like his aesthetics, but I am very happy to have a Star Convoy homage that looks as good as this. The only Beast Hunters figure I'm interested in so far. His robot mode is where he shines, but I also like his vehicle mode. Just the right amount of Star Convoy homage as well as keeping the Beast Hunters aesthetics.
He looks good, he's big and he doesn't look flimsy, he's a clear improvement of most of the RID Voyagers we've gotten so far and seems to be following FOC's precedent of improved voyagers. I can't wait to mess around with him in hand.
Which is what I've done with all my Revoltech (about 10 of them). They're on the shelf and they're staying there forever. Revojoints break at the slightest touch and their annoyingly obvious when they're not refusing to plug hands in or being loose or just snapping, their accessories are flimsy and break easily, the stands are beyond terrible and can't hold most of the figures up in anything more then a standard, boring pose. and they're just crap compared to Figuarts, Figma and Robot Spirits. Damn Revotech. What I would give for a D-Arts or Robot Spirits Transformers line, but alas, it will never happen and we'll be stuck with Revoltech's horrible figures.
I know they're cheaper to make which people dislike for cutting costs, but are there any actual negatives to clip on wheels quality wise?

Looks like Animated Prime, after an A-Team montage.
jgoss
it looks killer to me!! just wondering how much?

Wouldn't it be easier to just bring Cyberverse figures to play in the sandbox?
I would assume so.
Rewind
I started out not really liking this new Prime.
Halfway through this recent photo-review I was on BBTS preordering one.
I like how he doesn't have that "hollow" look that a lot of modern TFs have, and he seems quite large for a voyager. Also its nice to see a flatnosed truck for an alt mode again.
I don't like the grey plastic wing/cage/junk/kibble very much, but I can at least try to remove it somehow if it really bothers me once I have it in hand.

Voyager Soundwave is awesome and a clear improvement over the voyagers over the last few years.
ex dtw2003
Size yes, quality is debatable. We haven't even had any of teh new Voyagers in hand yet except for Grimlock and like other new releases he's terribly hollow.
And besides this one has obviously clip on wheels.
As to whether I'll get him – I gott admit he looks fun but I don't like the green and I don't need another Prime Prime. Weirdly I like this mold in any other deco, Motormaster or better yet Ultra Magnus.
mechfiend
Damn, this looks so much better than the original promo picks made it out to be.. I've changed my mind.. I think I'll get him!
shroobmaster
I'm not sure if it's fair to call it a step backwards since it's a completely different design in every way except for the iconic Optimus colors.
It's too different from usual Prime Optimus and it's trying to do something very different from the usual as far as modern Optimus toys go.
