Beast Hunters Deluxe Starscream

A poster on ACToys has shared some images of the cross-sells on the bottom of the Beast Hunters Bulkhead and Smokescreen packaging which we saw yesterday. Alongside those two figures and Ripclaw, we have a look at the mystery fourth figure in the assortment whom we can confirm as a new, Deluxe class, version of Starscream! Beast Hunters Starscream like most of the rest of the returning characters features an armored, spikey new design, and seems a bit more squat than the usual tall, slender depiction of Prime Starscream (although it might be the photo angle). Starscream comes with what looks like a capture claw accessory, a long red weapon with silver claws at its tip.

I really wish they would give us more new beast characters, rather than just retooled versions of the toys we already have. That said, Starscream looks pretty nice. Hopefully we'll see pics of the actual figure soon.

You can go 'fresh and different looking' without going 'this was the only colour we had left in the warehouse'.

Takara has been known for wacky colors too. Look at Superlink and Galaxy Force.

Not that I think that bright colors are a bad thing, mind you. You can't have too much neon orange, IMO.

This looks really bad. I'm hoping he'll look better in hand than these product pictures. Wave 1 is looking much better than Wave 2 right now.

Looks kind of interesting. Considering how different Ripclaw's actual colors look compared to her packaging photo, I'm going to reserve judgement on Starscream for when we get some pictures of the actual toy.

Those are all amazing suggestions but no I just wanted something more on the level of Wheeljack where he has a lot of crazy details and translucent wings and etc.

I mean comparing this to the current Deluxe starscream it just looks like he got a little bit spikey around the wings, it's not as crazy as the other upgrades we got so far.

Well if it's a consolation we haven't seen his plane mode yet, and to me it looks like his chest's different, although I guess that could just be the low resolution messing with my mind.

If that is a new mold I may just give in a pre-order the full set of 4 whenever TFS or BBTS sets them up. All I really want is Smokescreen and Ripclaw, but Starscream and Bulkhead intrigue me. And knowing those sites, it'll be easier/cheaper to get the 4 together than two alone.

If that is a retool of the Voyager mold, it'll be an easy pass for me....if it's a new Deluxe mold, I'll have to give it a closer look once it hits the retail stores

It's a deluxe.

The picture doesn't show him very well so I can't really form an opinion yet. He doesn't look unfun, however. It looks like he is his usual gray with gold and purple details.

Why do a get the feeling his alt mode is going to remind me of the Dino-jet from that episode of Reboot? The wings and chest look like a similar green thats on RTS Lugnut.

Anyway, so this leaves Megatron, Knockout, Arcee and Ratchet without Beast Hunters makeovers so far. Someone on siebertron.com mentioned seeing a deluxe Dreadwing and Cyberverse commander Hun-Grr listings in a Wal-mart computer. But I take that with a grain of salt till we see something. (Though he also mentioned a deluxe Starscream listing before this popped up, so who knows).

God, everything in this line is so freaking wacky, I love it to pieces. My wallet is going to hate me.

Nice that starscream gets to armor up again.

I really like the aerial antennae coming off his back. Very cool. The claw weapon is kind of Silly, though it could be a rifle of some sort.

I find the colors alright. The greens are just accents and the red is just to make the weapon noticeable.

Can't wait for better pics. And I'll probably buy one to add to my set.

I saw the BH wave one in a store not two days ago. I am severely addicted to purchasing TFs, and these steamin' turds were the easiest pass ever.

I noticed how Soundwave looks like some sort of Fuzorish cross between a UAV and an Eagle - now it looks like Starscream is a cross between a Pterasaur and a jet (in fact he looks a great deal like Armada Terrorsaur don't you think ?).

I have to say I'm really keen to see what a Half animal Megatron would look like !!

We have already of seen 8 figures from the Deluxe Beast Hunters line. Approximately half of what is expected to be released at retail considering Prime R.I.D. Series 01 was 14 figures.

Out of these 8 figures I only plan on buying Smokescreen. I do like the Voyagers though and look forward to Optimus and Predaking. Still on the fence about the other "Predacons".
