Asia Exclusive Optimus and Unicron Prime 2-pack

Transformersasia.com have updated their website with a new Transformers Prime upcoming release; The Prime Chinese New Year Exclusive Optimus Prime & Gaia Unicron Combo pack. This two pack will scratch your itch if you've wanted both figures for combining purposes. Additionally, both figures come with some minor additional paint apps, including Optimus' forearms (which are not clear on this release) and his Micron. Unicron appears to sport additional purple paints apps and chrome. This set is scheduled to be released on December 28th.

Do we know if this thing has anything the separate releases do not?

The reasoning for it is a little lost on me.

Ijust want it to have more accurate paint apps. The shield master (or whatever it was called) looks nice but the darker colours I'm not liking.

I don't know.... I would to see the box: I don't like that weird combo so I didn't get that Unicron but if the box is cool to display I could be tempted

If it won't be so, I'll pass without problems (I just got pratically all the important molds of Prime OPs) ^_^

I would like an accurate paint job, too so we don't have to deal with something like reprolabels

It shows the Optimus who is a metallic paint and doesn't have clear forearms (they're probably painted over) and Unicron (who has additional purple details & chrome). Even Optimus's Micron has some paint apps it seems. It's one of those Transformers Asia exclusives.

Roboykingdom says it'll be Year of the snake themed so also the paint... It'd be out in late december.

Well we have the final pictures in the link I provided and the release date is listed there too (12/28).

Okay, he's not that bad of a figure I guess. But Takara-Tomy likes to keep pushing him out the door. That and I guess I'm just spoiled by Weaponizer's nifty spinny guns. Pew pew!

Perhaps, perhaps not. They seem to have painted a lot of the details that were previously stickers for this version.

Well here's the thing. Everything on TransformersAsia.com has TakaraTomy involved. Most solely TakaraTomy. This one has Hasbro involved too.

I think this is more likely to be an Amazon.com exclusive though like the other CNY (Chinese New Year) stuff.

Anyone notice the Hasbro logo? Is that normally on Arms Micron boxes? Or is this because it's getting an Asian release? Either way, it makes a US release of Unicron a tiny bit more likely.

If they would have officially announced this sooner they could have got a lot more money out of me. But now I already have a Unicron and even though I like it, I don't need to buy it twice.

And what exactly is that combined mode supposed to be? Is it a Battle Cape?

Probably because it's a Chinese New Year figure and will likely end up on Amazon.com like the other CNY exclusives. That's just a guess on my part though.

Interesting. I wonder if being released as an Amazon exclusive will be how we get a US release? Or maybe TRU, they did get the GDO figures, which were "Asia exclusive"

I don't really need another PRID OP but if it isn't too much, I might be willing to spring for it. I'd rather Unicron got a solo release (but I'd also rather not this mold, where it was comprimised for a pointless combining gimmick...MAYBE if they had done it in the show).
