Robots in Disguise Titan Figure Prototypes - Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Galvatron?

Posted on 10-08-2014 at 12:54 AM by Sol Fury under Transformers Prime
_57 Via Ebay seller jet_tang_2000 we have our first look at another group of toys which we now know will carry over into the 2015 assortment of Transformers toys. They've posted some prototypes of Titan figures on the auction site from the upcoming Robots in Disguise series.

There are three prototypes. The first two we know to be Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. The third one is the "Wolfman" from the latest trailer, who is being called Galvatron by the seller, but we're not clear on if this truly is Galvatron or if he's just being called this because he happens to resemble the face of the Age of Extinction baddie. It's also been pointed out that Bumblebee and Optimus Prime's heads have been switched - these are mold tests so this will probably be fixed by the time these hit shelves.

Of note is that the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee seem to be talking figures - there are battery compartments visible on the back, with what looks like buttons and speaker vents on the front. "Galvatron" does not sport these features - so we're probably seeing two different classes of Titan figures here.

You can check out our mirror of the three Titan prototype images - these are clearly early versions, mold tests by the looks of it. We'll probably not see final versions of these until Toy Fair next year, but you never know - Hasbro might treat us at the New York Comic Con, which kicks off today!

TFRID_Promo_Image_28sml29 It's OFFICIAL, everybody!!! Hasbro has sent us a Press Release; stating clearly that they have indeed decided to air Transformers: Robots In Disguise on Cartoon Network.

The rumor which began early today, lit up the fandom. Hasbro has this to say:

"Robots in Disguise begins a brand new chapter in storytelling, filled with great humor, lots of fun adventure and animated in a cooler, lighter, brighter style that we know kids are going to really love," said Stephen Davis, president of Hasbro Studios and global entertainment & licensing for Hasbro, Inc.

Finn Arnesen, senior VP of global distribution and development for Hasbro Studios, commented, "As the regularly top-rated U.S. TV network in prime among Transformers' core audience of boys ages 6-11 and 9-14, our beloved Autobots and Decepticons will feel very much at home on Cartoon Network. And to seal our new partnership with Cartoon Network on the 30th anniversary of the Transformers franchise makes this a truly iconic event."

Transformers: Robots In Disguise Moved To Cartoon Network?

Posted on 10-07-2014 at 08:48 AM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Prime
TFRID Variety has reported (and taken down) a rather interesting article highlighting the possible future of Hasbro Studio's upcoming Animated Series; Transformers: Robots In Disguise.

But thanks to Google (who conveniently keeps a cache of old webpages) we have the content of the article which was posted few hours ago. In the article , it is stated that Transformers: Robots In Disguise will go on air on Cartoon Network rather than the newly rebranded Discovery Family (formerly known as Hub TV Network).

“We felt it was incumbent on us to take advantage of the opportunity to put it on a top rated network that performed well with boys,” Stephen Davis, president of Hasbro Studios and global entertainment & licensing for Hasbro, Inc told Variety.

“We have spent a lot of time listening to what kids like about Transformers and they haven’t been shy about giving us their opinions, and we have listened,” Davis said. “‘Robots in Disguise’ is reflective all that we have learned in our conversations with kids.”

Davis stressed that the toymaker was still “110% committed to the success of Discovery Family. It’s in no way a reflection of our committment to the network.”

Hub Network Rebranding Official Info And New Hasbro Program Times

Posted on 09-25-2014 at 10:38 AM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Prime
Hasbro-Discovery-Hub-TV-Network-Discovery-Family-Channel Hasbro has officially announced the rebranding of the Hasbro-Discovery Hub Network to the new Discovery Family.

We received a press release from Hasbro and they have announced several changes to the program lineup.

The Hub Network will become Discovery Family Channel effective October 13, 2014. The network will broaden its programming focus to serve families in primetime and continue to showcase Hasbro Studios award-winning children's content in daytime.

During the daytime, Discovery Family Channel will offer a robust line up of brand new Hasbro Studios' series as well as beloved library programming, including MY LITTLE PONY, LITTLEST PET SHOP and TRANSFORMERS RESCUE BOTS, while during primetime, the network will serve a growing family audience that began to develop under The Hub Network. Primetime programming will draw from Discovery's three decades of leadership in creating the highest-quality, real-world content that appeals to the entire family in the Natural History, Adventure, Animals and Science genres. Initial series will include SUPERHUMAN, TIME WARP, FLYING WILD ALASKA, AFRICA and EXTREME ENGINEERING: BIGGEST REVEALS.

Also, Hasbro’s ownership stake in the channel will drop from 50% to 40% as the programming focus shifts to Hasbro-produced children’s fare in the daytime hours and family-friendly fare in primetime.

Variety reports that Hasbro may turn towards Video-On-Demand or Digital Distribution of their shows in the future:
“Hasbro, meanwhile, gains more flexibility to sell new and existing shows to digital outlets such as Netflix and Amazon. Kidvid is a huge component of overall viewing for the SVOD heavyweights, even though it doesn’t get nearly as much attention in pop culture as original series aimed at adults.”

Hasbro also commented on their future activities for Movies and TV Shows:
“The toymaker is investing big in production through its Burbank-based Hasbro Studios arm. “We are continuing to develop partnerships with the big studios for some of our biggest brands,” [Hasbro CEO Brian] Goldner said. “And you’ll see us developing movies with smaller budgets and strong filmmakers.””
