Take a look yall! Its Transformers: Dark of the Moon Deluxe Class Skids and his Mechtech weapon. b-o-t of ACToys is bringing us a closer look at the recently announced Skids figure for Transformers 3. Weve seen the toy before, but this time we are treated with good comparison and images taken from various angles.

Even smaller + dumbed down transformation + ridiculous weapon = easy pass.
Digilaut
Think he looks ok. Only thing that's bothering me right now are the long feet, look really wrong from the side.

It's true he is even smaller than the previous deluxe Skids, but then again: the cgi Skids was way more squat than the toy was, so I guess this makes him more accurate. Vehicle mode doesn't look that much smaller to me.

His mechtech gun also seems pretty decent for what it is...so far this toy is one of the better ones to me.
Ra88
...WOW. I heard that the feet were long, but that's just...Is that really how they're supposed to be? They can't move down?
ThinkTank Customs
fett are not completly transformes, you can see, that you can fold them under the wheels
Transbot90210
Thank you Hasbro for making this line a very easy pass to a guy that has never passed on a line.
Cheem The Rup
Sorry but I posted these pics yesterday yet...

That looks much better than the ROTF version.

And what's ridiculous about that weapon, can you tell me???
General Tekno
How's it bad that he's smaller, too?

Skids is short. He's a small car. And that weapon is really awesome.

Besides, his proportions are closer than the original Deluxe to the movie CGI model.
rich_prime
LOOKS WAY FREAKING BETTER THAN ROTF

Now we need to see is soundwave.
FanimusMaximus
Looking better the more I am seeing it.
HIM666fan

Sheesh.
Especially seeing how if you followed him on twitter he did show he had it.
astig
easy pass for me
TheBigMachine
I'm excited about all the money I'm going to be saving from not buying DOTM figures.
shroobmaster
Just superior all around, every area, from movie accurate sculpt to size, feature and even more HA-ish Transformation.

He has quite a few DOTM figures, but I reckon that he's trying not to show that much because of how Hasbro has been reacting to the picture leaks. But hopefully he will soon, now that they seem to have given up.
Rogzilla
I, personally, love his little penguin feet. It gives him a very squat feeling that is accurate to the character.
Cheebs
Man, that really hammers home how the moving part count just fell off a cliff. Colors and sculpt aside, the new toy is really scaled back.

True..but even then, he doesn't have some kind of obligation to the fans just because he owns the figures.
Oracle_Aesir
Nemesis Skids shall be mine!!
skywarp82
So Peaugh is one of the lucky guys that has one of these awful Transformers movie toys. i can see your background Easily pass for me.
bhaalistik
Looks like TFA Bumblebee with a different head on it. Easily gonna be a peg warmer.

This.

He's playing it safe on the video reviews indeed.

Twitter's really your best source for info - sometimes he'll sneak pics of the figures he just got on there.

I think it's funny how everyone suddenly became an expert on what is and isn't going to sell. It's right up there with people being able to judge the playability and fun value of a toy without ever seeing it transform or played with.

But then, I forgot, this is the internet and everyone is an expert on everything. So who's going to explain String Theory to me? Seriously, I'd like to understand that stuff!

Credited and Thanks!
MythofBlackout
I rather like the contrast between the black and neon green. It's a much nicer look than the original deluxe. Overall, he's pretty good but I don't need another Skids toy. I think I'll pass.

Not sure what String Theory is but it's causing the ROTF toyline to be a major fail!! I've seen it with my own eyes at my local store!!
Omega_Sentinel
These DOTM toys are looking more and more horrible.
More money for 3rd party stuff I suppose.

I agree with you, people are usually far too judgemental about things far too quickly

however, String Theory is the theory that your life is a string that can intersect with other people's strings (aka their lives) so theoretically, if you can alter some of those intersections then you can chance a persons entire future (also see Butterfly Effect...not the films...those aren't good)
Astrotrain85
He looks bigger in alt mode and he`s smaller in robot mode? Wtf?!

You guys said everything I needed to already.
Chaos Prime
I already own Herp and Derp. One of each is more than enough.
soldierstar
Is that Peaugh's desk there in that first photo? MotherF#$%er! He beat us to the punch again!
Janeails22x
I MAY pick him up due to his Alt mode. I like car coloring for the twins this time around a smidge better. Though, I wish some of the details were still in the headlights, though.

However, those feet are just.... awful. They are WAY too big. Really ruins the bot mode for me. I understand small feet suck too (see Sideways), as do wheel feet (see Sideswipe), but more so for funcntionality. These just look terrible.

Peaugh, have you figured a way to collapse them any more than the pictures show? Oh, and while I have your attention (maybe), is the MECH TECH gimmick ANY fun to play with, or are they a hassle/burden/balance issue?
Brave Magnus
I like it, its not a bad mold. Face still a bit goofy but he is a goofy character. Thanks for the link!
jacobot
ok... Now the Ferrari and the Fire Truck please
kamtimus_prime
I dont understand, IMO the first movie line figures were good, the ROTF figures were even better. Who in the heck designed this line. I PASS on the whole line for now

So far, I have to agree. I might change my mind when I see the Ferrari come out but I am pretty much passing on 98% of what I've seen so far. I'm afraid this movie might suck ass if this is a hint of it. We'll have to wait and see.

Actually, it looks like the other pics have him properly transformed except for two parts. One, his heel spurs aren't folded out (yes, his actual feet are slightly LONGER! ) and that black panel on his large right arm lifts up, flips over, and then folds back down to make his forearm green like his feet. You can kind of see the green on the inside of the panel. It's actually mistransformed in my mechtech pic as well. Whoops!

As for the feet, that joint that everyone kepps pointing out as proof that the feet fold up, they're halfway right. What you're seeing is the actual foot mode position. If you look at the pic from the side on ACtoys, that joint in the foot allows the toe piece to fold up and out, with the silver toe plugging in right above the wheel on the ankle. That black panel under the foot is the panel that sits between the car door and the rear wheel. It's the panel right under the back window in the vehicle mode side shot.

As for Mech Tech, I'm digging it. I think Skids' gun is the most fun so far, with Megatron's being the best integrated into alt mode.

...but the Ferrari WILL be a part of the DOTM line, thus engineered with a certain focus.

The question is not whether or not the toy that is released will be any good, but what could the toy have been like in the ROTF line... ?

My opinion, the Ferrari toy will be like being conceived by alcoholics or meth addicts. You get the chance at life, but the odds are stacked against you for having birth defects or a "normal" life. So, while the Ferrari may be a good toy, possibly even the shiny star of the line, we will never know what could have been had he been born into a different scenario.

That's right, I just conjured a successful metaphor relating Hasbro engineers to meth addicts. Where my award? HAHAHA!
