We’ve got another great Transformers toy gallery to share with you tonight. Courtesy of TFW2005 photo staff member SydneyY, we have a look at the Takara-Tomy Toys R Us exclusive Age of Extinction “Rusty Version” Optimus Prime!
Based on Optimus Prime’s evasion mode, used to hide from those hunting him in the new movie, this Toys R Us Japan exclusive release recolors Optimus into a cream deco with plentiful “rust” paint applications. The truck mode is extremely effective in this deco! In robot mode, Optimus features a whole lot of white and looks a bit less “grimey” than his normal truck might. There’s a new headsculpt used for this version of the toy too – a full on faceplate version of the movie Optimus head is featured here, rather than the “mouth” head of the mass retail releases.
All in all, this release features an excellent take on the truck mode, but we feel the robot mode might be a bit divisive come the finish. Check out the awesome photos that SydneyY has done for us and judge for yourself!

Autoboty
You might have the KBB knockoff (if you bought it off ebay or sth) but the most likely explanation us a factory error.
By the way, which is the better 'junkyard' Optimus representation: this or MB-01?

Just got mine in yesterday. I love it. The only thing that bothers me a little bit is the cleanliness in the back of the truck. But overall, it's my favorite deco so far!
EDIT: After looking at SydneyY's pics again, I just noticed that there's no rust detail on the inside of the legs on mine. Down by the feet. The heck?
Autobot Spike
To me it just looks like he's bathed in the blood of his enemies……
after being dipped in yogurt….
damn that sweet faceplate tho….
still waiting to see if the two pack has that or not…

Hmm, well that does intrigue me. Thanks for the gallery of course!

Thank you, I appreciate it
Yeah he's not white, not creamy, either. It's hard to explain…all I can say is after getting him, the regular Evasion Prime looks less attractive.

Don't worry, the pictures are awesome! Colors will always be hard to catch correctly, logically.
I do agree he looks better in hand. Was really interested in this toy in the beginning, then was ready to cancel my preorder when the first in-hand images arrived. Luckily I decided to get it delivered anyway….got him since yesterday and he rocks.
The 'creamy' white is definitely more 'bone' colored, and the red rust in robot mode is more brown. I'm happy with him!

Is this still available online?

Ding ding ding ding! Winnar!
Yeah, I want to like this.. But it's so white.. So so very white.. Ish
Gunmetal with rust paint and I would have loved it!
This just looks like a white chocolate Transformer for a 10 dollar oddlots Easter basket.

Thanks Syd for the pixs!
Looks like a latte colored Prime to me lol j/k

It's really not the picture. It's just a hell of a lot of white, with rust sprayed in (or printed, as noticed in the truck mode pictures).
stprime
Makes me think of the tractors/cows from cars.

^Thank you dp!
Yeah when I first saw some in hand pics I was disappointed…then I got him in hand, he's much, much better loking in person. I am sorry that my photos are failing this cool toy. The plastic colour is very hard to capture.
My gripe is the "rust" on the bot mode. I wish they were more detailed.
deliciouspeter
Love it. The warm, creamy colors, the red wash on the rifle. Awesome.
Buk Lau
Having this in person, I can definitely say the pictures don't give it justice. The robot mode definitely looks better in hand.

Truck mode's good, robot mode sucks.
JasonPrime
Strangely I find myself actually preferring the Hasbro version.
Raiju
Truck mode came out better than expected but that bot mode…. the choice of creme white and the "rust" effects just reminds of Optimus Prime being made of white chocolate smeared with raspberry jam or something.
bman29
That's a good one too!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Optiramasu Prime. I absolutely love the figure, though, I can't put it down. It's not totally screen accurate or consistent in it's decor, but it's still a beautiful figure.
