2005 Boards member MegaHavok is reporting that the Target exclusive Movie Screen Battles sets, Battle Over Mission City and Freeway Brawl, have been found at a Target in Yorba Linda, California. The Battle Over Mission City set contains a repainted Voyager-class Megatron and a normal release Final Battle Jazz while the Freeway Brawl set contains a repainted Voyager-class Optimus Prime and a normal release Bonecrusher. Each set is priced at $24.19. No pictures of the sighting are available at this time, but we will provide an update once one is received.

Unfortunate, that they just keep pumping out these mediocre repaints and pairing them up with other figures so that they can keep saying "Hey look, new toy!" Eh, I've been done with the movie toys for a very long time.
NemesisBruticus
These will shelf warm till the third movie.

I find it strange that people complain this version of Prime is ugly when the deco is more movie-accurate than all versions released before. But I agree, Megatron looks terrible.

Really... Stop plugging the first Tformers movie...

HASBRO ITS OVER..............

Am I missing something here?
Zherbus
It would be awesome if they named them as a series, "Doomed Battles".

Nothing I could ever force myself to buy, since all of the good originals/repaints have been done. If they want to sells us on repaints, they should try more G1 homages.

A red Ironhide, maybe? A more G1 looking Prime, perhaps? I'd get neither personally.

I guess that's all that is left, since they have G1 Jazz, Starscream, and sort of Ratchet repaints.
justamaze
Nasty repaints! Megs is interesting but not that interesting. I only have the Leader versions of him.
Autovolt 127
this sucks.
Beastbot X
I'd buy Megs in a heartbeat if he didn't come with FB Jazz.

Didn't they already do a G1ish Prime repaint?
MetroBoy
Die already! Jeeeziz! Everyone that wanted them has them. Quit with the movie toys already!
Malikon
Yeah they did a repaint of Voyager Prime that was G1'ish.

are these new repaints the funky tan colored ones?
Megatronwp38
Lord more movie toys? They STILL dominate the stores. We Don't need any more! These will take up space and block new stuff from coming out I think
Dinobot Nuva
Give me the last three Target scouts (Reverb, Gunbarrel and Backtrack) instead of these.

Okay so the movie repaint 2-pack costs $6 less than the Cybertron repaint 2-pack. The prices of these 2-packs seem random.

Hopefully they didn't make too many of these battle sets and they will clear out fast to make room.
all are dead
hey clone manager can you post the pic if u can?
dark69
damn targets got to much good stuff out all at one time!
reave
Not interested. Give me Leader Bonecrusher (and Blackout and Starscream for that matter), or give me death.

They NEED to stop stocking Warpath/Crosshairs/Storm Surge. Warpath warms pegs ridiculously so, stock the new guys and see how they do.

Considering that wave was first sighted in freaking FEBRUARY, I can't say I blame its shelf-warmingness....
Galvatro
Hello All!

Well, I would think the adage of beating the dead horse would be valid here, but the horse is now decomposed into the ground. Of course, the completist in me will have them.

I guess I didn't think it looked much like it, but sure.

I saw the title and thought someone bumped a year old thread or something.

Haha, that's what I thought at first too.

Movie toys inferior
Animated, Universe, Marvel TF's superior

Let's just say I am planning on getting Megatron One since I like the look of red on him since it looks like flame and to me, It looks fine (in a way, I probably get him anyway since I am a Megatron fan) and regarding Jazz in it, I just use him for Target Practice for my Other Cons.

That's the one that I plan on getting, the other one..I just don't have the same desire for them (especially since Bonecrusher isn't really a repaint).

The Trukk mode was very G1 faithful, but because of the way the mold transforms there was no possible way for the robot mode to be just as faithful.

You had me all the way up to the Marvel TF's part...
Grimwing
Well I can manage to buy the megatron. Because I think the voyager is a lot more fun to play with. The leaders are better display pieces.

I did'nt pick up the basic release v. prime, just robovision and first strike.
Gotta say the copper might be neat in person. At least to differentiate the figures.

This should be the final transformers movie push before the fallen. So expect the three remaining target scouts to show up at the same time.

In which case I'd buy these in a two packs in fit of toy greed with my scout purchase.
planetjacker
I'm not sure it is possible for me to care less about these. At least they are exclusives and won't be blocking all shelfs. I mean come on Hasbro movie toys a year and a half after the movie? A lot of stores still have the original versions of these on shelfs.
Takara_destron
I wonder if these will pop up in the UK anywhere, I quite like that Megs.

Behold!

Transformers Decepticon Desert Attack 2-Pack - Hasbro - Toys "R" Us

oops!, sorry guys, wrong treat.
Anyways, some of you would like to know about this
Satomiblood
All stores ought to be dropping prices for all movie toys instead of repacking the same shit over and over.

I'm so tired of seeing pegs upon pegs of Jungle Bonecrushers and Camshafts at Walmart - stuff that isn't going to sell no matter what - while the new Universe and Animated gets maybe half that. The only good thing that's come out recently from the movie line has been Fracture, Breakaway, and Crankcase.
Backscatter
A bittersweet ending to the TF1 Movie Toys. It's like how all TF Figure Series end, Not with a bang. . .

Edit: Both ordered from Target.com 12/02/08. Movie Line: COMPLETE!

Is it possible to get more photos of these things? Especially of the packaging.

here you go..

also wanted to mention that i was able to get these at $9.99 each by using the $10 off target coupon and the $5 McD's coupon. you'd have to do separate transactions to take advantage but it sure beats paying $24 a piece. I suppose you could use the coupons on the universe packs as well..

I have read on the boards that more people who would buy the battle packs would prefer to buy the Battle Over Mission City with the flame Megatron over the Freeway Brawl with the repainted Optimus Prime. I went to a Target today and saw 5 Battle Over Mission City boxes and 1 Freeway Brawl. This is more evidence that collectors (or expressive Internet users) represent a very small portion of the market. More people bought the pack with Optimus Prime than the one with Megatron, which also corresponds to the sales of the original Voyager molds. For those who are interested in comparing the Freeway Brawl Oprimus Prime with the original mass release voyager, here is a very detailed picture showing them side by side. Since it is very large, you will have to click on the link to download the full image:

As you can see, there are more blue plastic and paint details. The biggest difference is the gray color plastic used. In the Freeway Brawl version, the gray is more brownish. Even the face is more detailed. I would say that this is the true Premium Series Voyager Optimus Prime (as opposed to the Robo-vision and Battle damaged versions).

Come to think of it, that actually looks similar in tint to the way Prime's CG model looked in the movie, towards the end where he does a pose and the battle mask covers his mouth.
