Takara-Tomy’s TF_PR Twitter account has shared a new image of the Amazon Japan exclusive redeco of Age of Extinction Hound. This redeco of the Autobot Voyager class toy sports a premium deco intended to be more accurate to his on-screen appearance.
This version of Hound is due for a release in early December and comes as an exclusive pack-in with the Japanese Age of Extinction DVD and Blu Ray when purchased through Amazon Japan.

Yup. Precisely.

So basically what you're saying is that people are actually paying for an overly-priced DVD that happens to come with a toy as a gimmick. Gotcha.
[Wing_Saber-X]
Lol he got tired of being called a fat ballerina and worked out
Captain
He needs to be fat not buff. That's what I was hoping for. I'm fine with the Hasbro colored version.
Raiju
The black guns look fine to me, even if they aren't screen accurate.

Hey, I like Takara retail hound just as nice, and have no issues of cancelling this pre-order.. but this is the definitive and 'real' hound toy for me to get.
Digilaut
This Hound looks glorious, but I'm secretly happy it comes with black guns and parts: just like how the United Hound came with very light grey guns, I think it just looks a bit bad, and makes me feel a bit better about my retail Hound.
Yes, I am that desperate to find ways to tell myself I don't want this very expensive version!
[Wing_Saber-X]
the actual $200 is not just for the toy ya know, the cost of the Japan-region DVD is the one which takes up the bulk of the pricing. And yes, DVDs in Japan are crazy expensive because its 'a foreign' import.
Markdelg
So the AOE Leader Optimus repaint is $80, the Generations Rhinox repaint is $60, and this is $200? Huh?
[Wing_Saber-X]
this, imo its really not that difficult to source, tbh. I can justify the pricing because I'm not adverse to paying top dollar for something that is reasonably deemed an 'exclusive'. not being an 'elitist' collector, just something that I find worth buying as a personal collector who digs Japanese exclusives.
soundwaverulls
This is what the regular version looks like.
The exclusive verions, on top of the, IMO, nicer shade of green, has tires in sand and dirt colours, as well as being covered in camo patches the same colours and finally, better paint apps on the head. The black parts are less accurate but I personally don't feel they take too much away.
jayman118
Did they use the autobot united hound version then added more paint aps? Its really great but damn it will probably cost 200$ here locally. i think ill be fine with my hasbro and united version.
Raiju
If you can get it in Japan, it's 12,960 Yen or roughly $110 USD. Not an impossible price if you can swing a domestic purchase.
T-Logicon
I guess I'm missing something. Why is this hound so much better than the regular retail version? Is this version really $200 good? I just don't see it. If we're talking paint apps, I don't see any real eye catching or impressive coloring. I'm a collector too, so I know the details make the figure, but I just don't get it. Does the regular retail figure look that bad to justify so much money for a "premium" version? I'm not hating or baiting, Im just confused.
[Wing_Saber-X]
Thats the thing with ultra rare exclusives. Less numbers means a premium pricing. Oh well…

It's beautiful but I can't justify its price.

Nice. But I'm happy with my $20 version. Thanks.
