TFW2005 Boards member Soundwavedotm has provided us with photos of the upcoming stateside release of the Deluxe Optimus Prime with Trailer set. This set is a North American release of the Transformers Chronicles Movie Optimus Prime, with slight deco changes (namely paint applications along the arms and the waist) to the Deluxe itself. As announced and confirmed at New York Comic Con, this toy will be released sometime in 2012 in the upcoming Movie Trilogy subline.

Cool! So Deluxe cars can fit inside? If so, I'm going to get it and slap that trailer on Battle Blades Prime.
Soundwavedotm
It's the same trailer from the chronicole prime
Ratchets Hatch
Sweet!

Looks pretty good. I might have to change my mind on getting a deluxe prime, now.
kaijuguy19
I'm so glad I held out on the DOTM Deluxe Optimus because now I'm getting this instead!
Heat Guy
Wonder if it will comes with the Ion Blaster Mechtech gun.
Fort Max
Actually looks quite nice.

i dont think its possible, many people have tried to make a trailer for BB Prime, and Aslo creating a hole is not possible as the thing you use for twist around the back side of Optimus Alt Mode is under it
HeavyArms
Nice, added to my list.
Magnus12
any1 know how much this will cost?
transformerwars
Any word on whether this'll be released in the UK and Ireland?

Might try and find this if it does get released.

I imagine it'll be around the $30 - $35 price mark. Don't hold me to that though.
RedAlert Rescue
Overall it seems nice (aside from the lame unpainted wheels).
Probably won't come out in the UK though unless ARGOS or TRU take it.

It will interesting to see what they do with regard to a weapon for him.
Hiro Prime
I can see this at the Ultra price point. Given how nice the trailer looks, and how much the Chronicle version costs, I can see that selling well over here.
scypris115
The trailer looks nice but I dont like that prime mold..I might get it but only if I can find it for a good price...

I trade in the uk, it's deffo coming to the uk...... Toys r us is a listed resource.
Am receiving extra pics over next two weeks for various products before attending toy fair in the uk
SPLIT LIP
Meh, I don't like trailers, and the paint isn't any better than the first release. Actually less paint on this one.

Though it is nice they made the trailer all silver.
NEST SOLDIER
I have the voyager class Takara version, and this one is just as impressive. The major difference is the scale, and the fact that Takara's is more detailed. I believe I'll get two or three of these!

That is word-for-word exactly what I was going to post.

I wish Hasbro weren't going cheap on such basic things as silver wheels more and more these days, but it looks nice enough otherwise to still seem worth picking up for me.
Nerdicon
There is actually a slight remold between the first Deluxe prime and the gold one (and this one i presume) The original version of this deluxe had no hole in the hitch for the trailer.
Batman
Looks pretty good, but the trailer is pretty boring on the inside.

Woohoo!

Trailer looks nice, but no accessories or 'fold-out'/transforming feature is inexcusable given how over the top the Ultimate Prime was, and the fact that the movie trailer was at times a weapons storage and at other times a jetpack/rifle combo. Granted, not saying I want a repeat of the Ultimate Prime (icky ka-ka), but some kind of accessories would have been welcom.

Also, that Dlx Prime is kind of....derpie. Not feeling it.
KnightHawkke
Crap! Now I have to go find one of those Lunarfire deluxe primes after all.. Hope there is still some left in the area by January!

Still should have been voyager....

If it keeps the price down I am very much in favor of the trailer doing nothing. I outright prefer it. I have not once turned any Optimus (or Rodimus) trailer I've ever owned into any base mode. The base modes always look lame to me, anyway. All I need it to do is hitch onto the cab for display in vehicle mode.

It will be interesting to see which other Deluxe-sized Optimus toys the trailer will be compatible with.
Blackjack2099
Please come out some time like the other figures such as Deluxe Leadfoot and Soundwave and Dino, please God, please!
Noideaforaname
Hope this isn't a WalMart exclusive.
I've been meaning to grab a Deluxe Optimus since he's in great scale with, well, a lot of figures I have (Bonecrusher, DotM Megatron, Payload, Brawl...), though I don't have much access to a WalMart.

Granted I don't like trailers that don't really do anything, and I don't have any Autobots to hitch a ride in it.

I gotcha. And price point can't be dismissed as an important overall factor. It just seems odd that the trailer doesn't do anything, given how over-the-top the Ultimate went with it.
U.Magnus80
Nice. Definitely didn't expect that I'd be buying 3 versions of the deluxe Movie OP. looks like I will
Transmetal
The trailer does look nice! Now why can't I get a trailer (either offical or 3rd party) that looks that nice that works with my Leader ROTF Prime?
Cadbane
Nice so I don't have to pay higher for the tomy one
butz
Is the trailer the same as the one that comes with the Takara Voyager figure? They look similar, but mine's been packed away since I moved in August so maybe I'm way off.

Seriously. I have to drive forever to get to the WalMart "closest" to me. So I've missed out on all previous releases of the mold. I've never found it there, and I always wonder why I even bothered driving out.
wylungz
hmmmm looks pretty cool!
Surge
Wow. I don't like the looks of deluxe Optimus but I just may have to get this one.

You know, that is probably the one thing that honks me off these days about the paint deco. The lack of some color on the hubcaps really makes or break a deco. I understand a lot of real life newer cars these days has black rims. (Honestly, they look cheap to me.) And I can understand the limitations with paint applications... I'm totally not oblivious to that. But it's the inconsistencies that irk me. One toy will have a load of paint applications on them, including the wheels (such as some of the Rotf and HftD toys). Yet the same toy released later with fewer applications does not. (Such as a few DotM toys, and a few of the new ones which are less complex and in some cases smaller than their RotF contemporaries... Thus should have a cheaper production cost.) It's pretty acceptable when it's supposed to be a beat up looking car (like Kup or Hound), or a racing cars (like DotM Wreckers). But when sporty and sleek looking cars like Jazz and Prowl (who didn't exactly have a load of paint applications in the first place) are lacking these simple applications, it really makes what could have been a spectacular looking toy seem 'cheap'. And I know the hard work that goes into these guys, so I hate saying that.

I acknowledge I do not know all the details and there's probably a very good explanation I'm overlooking. I just wish there was some happy middle compromise here. (Aside from buying a paint marker, which I have done.)

That said, I rather like this Optimus Prime toy. I wonder if the trailer is compatible with the TF: Prime Optimus toy.
Stepper
Look similar to the TakaraTomy's Voyager version.
Walktehdinosaur
Damn Soundwavedotm Your like some early picture machine. Much more trust worthy than whats-his-name. Keep up the groove.
jaws
Finally, a US released trailer, now I'll have 3 deluxe OPs
[Wing_Saber-X]
needs more paint apps.
wow...Hasbro is starting to think like Takaratomy and release a trailer-version Prime?
gasp!* Color me surprised. Might be tempted to pick this up!
Shockwave9227
I'm so gonna buy this.
Bgrngod
Wow.. I was JUST googlating this earlier today to see if any info about a US release had popped up that I had missed.

Back to the "Want it" list with you! This time without all the question marks.

I realize that, but just setting the trailer on his bed should work fine for display purposes.

Or I could just display Battle Blades Prime in robot mode and this guy in vehicle mode.
fafireguy
I think that it is good that i didn't buy the regular or lunarfire version of the deluxe prime. now i can get this one and not worry about repaints of one mold

That's my prayer , too man. I need Mirage, it's the only thing that will quell my mental disorder!
gruzergrub5000
lousy, the prime molds for dotm are by far the worst of the movieverse.

Actually, I found a decent trailer for BB Prime. My Dad collects semis of all different scale, and one of his trailers fit almost perfectly. I had to drill a hole just ahead of the king pin on Prime, but when it's hooked up you can't tell. It's white and needs to be painted, but that will make a nice winter project.

This deluxe one looks nice, but I'm a sucker for a Prime with a trailer...
SmokescreenGT
Very nice, indeed. I haven't picked up deluxe Prime yet so this will be the version I finally get.
