Movie Series Striker Optimus Prime, Asia Premium Series Exclusive

Posted on 07-30-2012 at 05:30 AM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
ap501strikeroptimus Here is an interesting teaser for you - 2005 boards member Red leader sent us over an image teasing an Asia Premium Series Optimus Prime toy. Not just any Optimus Prime, but the Movie series Striker Optimus Prime, who was the upgraded version of Revenge of the Fallen Leader Optimus Prime with additional weapons to form the Stealth Force mode seen in concept art for Dark of the Moon. This one is due for a release in late September / early October and will be a limited edition. Red leader says "trust me, this one will be very special"; could this be a true premium series release for the Striker Optimus Prime toy, on the same level as the much sought-after Revenge of the Fallen Buster Optimus Prime?

Calibre Movie Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Premium Statues Update

Posted on 07-28-2012 at 08:06 AM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
553370_466158190069568_1799805696_n The upcoming Movie Optimus Prime and Bumblebee statues from Calibre were shown off at the Ani-Con & Games Expo Hong Kong 2012, and our sponsors Robot Kingdom were there to take pictures. From the information relayed by Robot Kingdom, we can report that these will be released in the fourth quarter 2012, and will feature goodies like LED light up eyes, rubber tyres, electroplated parts, interchangeable battle masked heads, optional hands and weapons for different display options. Optimus will stand at around 20 inches tall and Bumblebee at around 14 inches in height. The pricing on them is not confirmed, but indications given here suggest that Optimus Prime will be over $1000 and Bumblebee somewhere in the region of $900 - these are high end collectibles, based on the actual movie CGI, for serious collectors.

Hasbro Trademark Reveals the Return of Transformers Combiners

Posted on 06-28-2012 at 02:30 PM by NIBMRatchet under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
Transformers-Combiners Whenever Hasbro applies for a new Trademark, there is a chance that we’ll most probably see or hear about it at some point later. It may take few days or maybe even years (Mind you, Airachnid’s toy was revealed more than three years after the Trademark application).

United States Patent And Trademark Office reveals a new Hasbro Trademark titled “Combiners”.

The trademark is categorized under the same description given to any other Transformers Trademark:
“Toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms”

You can find more details at USPTO and keep it up with TFW2005 for latest news… first.

Dark of the Moon Robo Fighters Wave 3 Released

Posted on 06-18-2012 at 05:16 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
DOTMNightwatchPrimeEGBB Here's a real leftfield sighting from 2005 Boards member Dilbertron. Among the items unreleased at the sudden end of the Dark of the Moon toyline last year were the final two releases in the Robo Fighters subline. Robo Fighters Wave 3 consisted of two redecos, Nightwatch Optimus Prime and Elite Guard Bumblebee. They've never been sighted at US retail - until today, when Dilbertron sighted both at the Greenwood, Indiana Toys R Us.

A case of some random stock in the back room finally making its way into the store months on, perhaps? You be the judge - the question now though, is if we are only seeing these nearly nine months after their original projected release date, what else could be lurking in the depths of the stockroom?

TFW Dark of the Moon Seekers Galleries

Posted on 06-13-2012 at 05:40 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
Starscream-Skywarp-Thundercracker-Robot-2 Tonight I've got one final (for now) Transformers Dark of the Moon toy gallery update to share with you guys. This update is for Dark of the Moon Skywarp, a character I personally hold in a very high regard since the original Skywarp back in 1984 was one of my first Transformers toys. Dark of the Moon Skywarp was the third of the three Decepticon jets, the Seekers (or Jetrons as they are sometimes known in Japan). He was a Japanese market exclusive for the line, and it gives me great pride to share this gallery with you.

Of course, where's the fun in just sharing a gallery of Skywarp without the other two Seekers? So for the extra fun, we've got all three of the Dark of the Moon Deluxe Class Seekers here for your viewing pleasure, Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp! Enjoy the pics everyone!

Recently, Breygent Marketing has teamed up with Enterplay and is working on a Fall release for the cards, featuring more than just the movie properties. The cards will now also feature Transformers Prime characters.

TFW Dark of the Moon Soundwave Gallery

Posted on 06-03-2012 at 03:35 AM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
Soundwave-Robot-16 Moving right along, next up for you we have the third in our little series of "toys that never made it to US retail" from the Dark of the Moon line. Up next is Soundwave. Three versions of Soundwave were planned for the Dark of the Moon line - of those only the Cyberverse made it to US retail; the Human Alliance Soundwave and this one, the Deluxe class toy, never made it outside of Japan and a very limited release through Hasbro Asia. It's a pity because while the toy is not without its flaws (the roof of the car hangs off the back in a very unattractive way) it is a good toy, very solidly built and a nice representation of the character who appeared on screen in the movie. He nicely complements the other Decepticons and is a real step up from the satellite version from Revenge of the Fallen.

Check out our gallery for another look at a toy which missed out on US shelves:

Transformers the Ride Evac In Hand Pictures

Posted on 06-01-2012 at 06:39 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
Evac-01 Hot on the heels of the news of his release we've got some in-hand pictures of the Transformers the Ride exclusive Evac. The Universal Studios exclusive Autobot is based on the vehicle from Transformers the Ride, and pleasingly features the gull wing doors of the ride vehicle, a nice touch. The design of the toy fits in well with other Movieverse toys, especially with guys like Dark of the Moon's Wreckers.

Read on to check out the pics.

Transformers the Ride Evac Toy Released

Posted on 06-01-2012 at 05:52 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
wp000969 News in from Universal Studios Hollywood now - we've got our first new toy release of the month of June for you! The all-new character from Transformers the Ride, Evac, has a Deluxe Class toy exclusive to the Universal Studios park, and 2005 Boards member TheTFReview sent us this picture showing that the new member of the Movieverse Autobot team is being well stocked at Universal Studios Hollywood. He comes with a higher than average pricetag though as you might expect for a theme park exclusive toy, and that is $21.95. As you can also see in the bottom of the picture, the exclusive repack of Deluxe Optimus Prime (and, we assume, Bumblebee) are also now in the ride's giftshop.

TFW Dark of the Moon Leadfoot Gallery

Posted on 05-29-2012 at 04:03 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
Leadfoot-Robot-19 Time for another gallery of a Transformers Movie toy who never made it to the US. Leadfoot here is the third of the Wreckers from Dark of the Moon, whose Deluxe Class toy was intended for a Target two pack along with his fellow Wrecker Topspin, as we finally saw packaged just earlier today. Leadfoot did see a release in Japan as an individually carded figure though without the sponsor details his US release would have featured - your mileage may vary if this "clean" look makes the toy more appealing or not.

One thing that is truly appealing about Leadfoot of course comes from owning the other two Wreckers, Roadbuster and Topspin, because the three of them together make for a great set.

Check out our gallery of the third Wrecker - one of the few Transformers to sport a beer belly! - and see for yourself how cool this toy that never made it to US retail is.

Dark of the Moon Unreleased Leadfoot & Top Spin set on Ebay

Posted on 05-29-2012 at 06:49 AM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
KGrHqVHJDUE63ZSCfoVBPvcBH2bi60_12 Here is something well and truly bizarre for you - hot on the heels of Dark of the Moon Wheeljack getting a limited run release in Hasbro packaging in Asia, an Ebay auction has popped up for the never-released Autobot Team Racers two pack - aka the Target Exclusive one with the Deluxe Class Leadfoot and Topspin - not Twin Twist as originally reported, but actually just the other weaponized Deluxe Class Wrecker. He's largely unaltered from his original release.

Exactly what this turning up on Ebay now means is beyond us - could there be a very limited run out there waiting to be found, or is this one random retailer sample piece that slipped through the cracks?

Either way it is the first time we've ever seen this two-pack-that-wasn't, so check it out!
