Movie Trilogy Optimus Prime with Trailer in Package Images

Well, this is certainly an interesting development.

Well at least it's a sign the movie trilogy line isn't necessarily dead in the water yet.

...and i'm maybe clutching at straws......but i'm inclined to take the fact the packaging isn't really any different from DOTM packaging as a positive indicator for the last few
toys that are in Limbo. IE: Packaging art only requires slight modification.

Yep a good sign that other releases will be making it to us eventually.

Well, this will make a toyfair a bit more interesting. Now we just need some proof that this will be a serious run of new figures, versus a smattering of repaints and DOTM toys that would have already been released if Hasbro hadn't screwed up.

This makes me a bit more optimistic, but it's still a case of wait and see. Especially considering how badly DOTM fell short vs. ROTF.

An Optimus Truck at anything less than Voyager class bugs me, the trailer looks pointless............ Yet somehow the packaging makes me want to buy it.



I think, Hasbro might prefer to just keep movie toys ticking over in anticipation of TF4. I doubt the avalanche of new toys we were (mis?)informed about is coming any time soon.

Well, if nothing else maybe we'll finally get Dino. There was strong evidence a deluxe mold did exist, and I still think the absence of a new HA toy in the first DOTM wave is a big indicator a HA mold exists as well. They've certainly had time to retool things by now.

Well the packing isn't all that different which is sort of dissapointing. Still I'm eager to see what next year's New York Toy Fair will bring us.

...I think, Hasbro probably knew from the start they'd have to design a Fauxrarri (groan!)... what i'm wondering however is that maybe even THAT wasn't enough for Mattel and Ferrari to look the otherway.

In the case of Sideways, he was there and gone in short order. Mirage however was probably a bit more visible.

Conversely, if there IS a vialbe Mirage that Hasbro can release...maybe they want to hold of on it for the moment, until they know what is or isn't happening with TF4, Especially when retailers are probaly soured on movie toys for the moment.

I haven't bought a movie toy in a while, but I like that toy. Hmm.

I don't think retailers know one line of transformers from the next. I'm pretty sure that's why they did HFTD instead of just continuing to call it ROTF. I think all the retailers notice is that they don't want a line with the same name to long (unless they can't keep it on shelves).

As far as holding off for the next movie- that's the heart of the question. All we've seen so far for this line is repaints and US issues of toys Japan had a while ago. Will this be a real toyline, or just a half assed string of repaints. I have a feeling it may just be repaints since they showed a handful of toys and all were repaints.

That being said, if they're sitting on a releasable Dino I suspect they will. They can always redesign him for the next movie (you know, like Bumblebee)- he may not even be in the next movie. Right now Hasbro is sitting on something they spent time and lots of money developing. If they can get it to shelves I bet they will.

But we don't know what's going on. You may be right, maybe there NEVER WAS a Ferrari toy. Maybe it was always a knock off, and it didn't fly.

Packaging looks nice, I might consider picking this up.

I'd concur, although i think in part the RTS/HFTD thing was intended to include toys that arent' strictly movie-related.

Actually calling a subline Movie trilogy though... I hope retailers don't care about the name either.

I'd really had my sights set on the repaints of DX Soundwave and Wheeljack. Hopefully they'll make the cut.

Thank god the trailer will be silver instead of grey.

Another one to stay MISB, though I am thinking this one is gonna sell quite well, and would have been a damn good kid-friendly purchase before Christmas.

I think I might just pick this one up. In size with Voyager Megatron and Voyager Sentinel Prime he should go good with them.

I've said it before I'm glad I passed on the DOTM Walmart exclusive Deluxe Optimus because this seems to be more worth the money and the chance to get a Prime with a trailer for a good price!

The box isn't very different, but that doesn't matter too much to me, as it'll be in the bin five minutes after I get the figure out.

Despite this being a Deluxe assortment scale, it still looks really nice, and I think I'll buy at least 3. I did notice, however, that the trailer seems to lack the number of mechtech ports that the Takara version has.

I wonder what other changes Hasbro made to this version?

I was thinking about this while I was on break. Somewhere in late-Feburary or mid-March Hasbro will release another line of Transformers that will be like Hunt for the Decepticons where as DOTM will come out with Soundwave and Que. So that could mean that at this years up coming Toy Fair and Botcon, we could see what I've been talking about, and maybe a Dino mold for all the people that are complaning.

I dont collect MOC Tfs...I open them. But I will buy that, and never open that one,.

I might actually have to get this. It looks pretty good, and since the trailer can hold other Deluxe vehicles, that will be a fun feature to play with... Plus, the packaging looks good too, I've always liked the Dark of the Moon packaging.

The problem I find with saying Oh they must be called Dino & Que is that if you wish to follow what the Movies says does that mean you also have to call Brawl Devastator and Roadbuster Amp - neither of which I wish to do - So I guess I'll have to accept it's going to be messy regardless.

Which is a shame as I'd actually prefer to call The Blue car Que his Repaint Wheeljack and the Green Nascar Roadbuster and his Repaint toy Amp (as he has it written on him).

Even if calling him Amp is akin to calling a Transformers "Pepsi" or "Mountain Dew".

Speaking of which this Dlx + Trailer would make a decent mould to make a new Movie Universe version of Pepsi Prime from; perhaps to carry on the softdrink/PepsicCo Sponsorship on beyond Amp & Mountain Dew.

I believe there two trailers released. 1 was released with a Voyager Prime and 1 was released with a Deluxe Prime and a G1 Prime in the chronicles 2 pack. I believe the one we'll receive is the deluxe version. Hopefully. Because I already got the Takara Voyagr one.

This trailer (or at least the original version of it) is already out in Japan, right? Has anyone put this trailer on other Primes to see how it fits? Classics voyager prime or the new TF: Prime Voyager prime?

I wasn't interested in the Deluxe Optimus mold... but this? This is pretty cool. I'd buy it with the trailer.

I hadn't expected that the line would actually be called "Movie Trilogy," but it is promising, since it's proof that there will be another movie line after DOTM, and that there could be hope for figures we haven't gotten yet.

Actually, when my company asked back before the Investor Day event, we were told that he would not be getting a DOTM figure. They told us that they had license issues that prevented him from being produced in time for the 4th qtr, and that they were aware of the fans desire for the figure.

This came from a female member of the TF Marketing team at Hasbro. We only got to talk to her after pressing the issue for several weeks. Even then , her answers were contrary to what we had been previously told about Mirage from them, and that being that they had secured the license prior to the film (DOTM) going into pre production.

Who knows? i just think they really screwed up the entire DOTM line when compared to the previous movieverse lines.

They could have had both Mirage and Wheeljack produced, in multiple formats, way before now. I hope this isn't a trend that they will continue with future films in the franchise.

The license issues are with Ferrari. We've known about this for a while.

You may have known about the license issues bro', but I didn't. Especially when i was told two different versions. However, I'm interested in hearing exactly what you know about the issue, as it may help in quelling this issue once and for all.

Hasbro paid to have him in the Movie, they can certainly pay to have him as a toy. Not sure what the big deal is.

Screw the Ferrari, just make him look as close as possible without the Ferrari logos. We'll add our own decals

Basically, Mattel, one of Hasbro's larger rivals, had first dibs on making Ferrari toys. I'm not sure why they can't make something like in the game, but I'm sure there's some legal reason behind it.

Now....this is not biblical but remember we were told they couldn't get mirage/dino to us before q4 of this year. There are reasons to this, the launch of the new trilogy line at toy fair, and after speaking to one of my friends who organises it says there doing reveals. Plus the DVD follow up releases and also the announcement of tf4 which the trilogy line will supposedly lead us into most of this is speculation but there is definite reveals at toy fair uk am aware of.
