Movie Series Striker Optimus Prime, Asia Premium Series Exclusive

Here is an interesting teaser for you - 2005 boards member Red leader sent us over an image teasing an Asia Premium Series Optimus Prime toy. Not just any Optimus Prime, but the Movie series Striker Optimus Prime, who was the upgraded version of Revenge of the Fallen Leader Optimus Prime with additional weapons to form the Stealth Force mode seen in concept art for Dark of the Moon. This one is due for a release in late September / early October and will be a limited edition. Red leader says "trust me, this one will be very special"; could this be a true premium series release for the Striker Optimus Prime toy, on the same level as the much sought-after Revenge of the Fallen Buster Optimus Prime?

The best words here are "Premium Series" backed up by the series numbering "APS01". Almost all the movie leader moulds deserve some prettying up.

While I'm dreaming about a "complete edition" including a fully transformable trailer/weapons cache, a simple Buster redeco of the Striker mold (with Striker accessories plus TRU Japan blades like the picture seems to imply) would be pretty nice.

I already have DOTM Buster Prime (courtesy of RK), Striker Pime (luckily I bought at Japanese retail at reduced holiday pricing with the free TRU battle blades), and Jetwing Prime (a birfmas gift from the wife so technically it didn't cost me anything XD) on top of DMK Prime (from AmiAmi and I haven't even put it together yet, lol) and two Revoltech Primes (and I'm eyeing the Rev Jetwing version). My wallet is on life support.

If this is chromed up Striker OP, I will happily pass up. I'm really happy with the dark colour scheme of the original.

Yes, the code does look promising. Any prettying up of Leader Ironhide should start with making him a bit less pretty; a version where the predominently blue legs are black plastic would be a step in the right direction. Any metallic paint apps should look good over that.

Premium series worries me, it sounds like they're going to do most of the leader figures and potentially others. If so, it's gonna get expensive and easily be the most money I've spent in a year, probably ever.......

Seriously? I have my 10th Leader Prime on preorder right now. Takara is going to bust me with these guys. I can't afford to keep up, never mind finding space for them all.

It all depends on what items are included....but yeah i do see this one climbing up there at the TT MP-10 range....gonna be a tough one to decide how many to get...lol

It says Premium Series. I suppose there will be more repaints coming, premium or not.
