He is 240mm tall and the poster says his joints are almost tight. but another poster says it's better to glue outer armor parts, because some of them are tend to fall off when playing around.
robvega214
depending on height...this will prolly be the ONLY movie verse Prime i will own

Wonder if that means the pieces are designed to be removable?

I've been curious because I'll definitely be painting BB at some point. If the pieces come back off I'll probably put him together and get to that later. It'll be much easier to paint him with everything apart, so if they don't come back off I'll need to paint him first.

I want to paint Prime. But much like every movie Prime toy, I'm stumped on how to apply a good glossy red coat of paint without wrecking his flames I'm pretty sure I can't recreate them as nicely as I'd want them to be.

So far these are by far the most exciting DOTM toys I've seen. I can't wait!
Batman
He looks so good.

I want this sooooo bad!
Dally
Just ordered this from AmiAmi today. Can't freaking wait!
Murasame
Wow. Generally I don't like movie toys, but that one looks awesome!

How much did it cost for shipping for you?
Ricochet
NO. these images are from Futaba model board. not ACToys.
Timesynch
I don't have any movie Primes at all, though I do love the aesthetic and transformation engineering of Buster Prime.

Definitely picking this bad boy up when I fly to Japan next month! It'll be a fun couple activity to put him together with the fiancee/wife too. XD
Xcaliber037
This is just awesome! I emailed BBTS for the approximate arrival date and they said "I apologize but we are not given any specific arrival dates -only the estimated month which is subject to change." That and I think if I'm not mistaken, all overseas retailers also say preorder. So are we looking at a July release? Oh and bring on more accessories for this guy! Jetfire armor, DOTM jetpack and guns please!
Jericho
So two stupid questions 1 - price(and where can i get it?) and 2 - we have to paint the flames/figure? Oh boy.
Sky St0rm
Must have!!!!!!
deathonacracker

1. price runs about $110 to $120 + shipping. i got mine from Captured Prey for $110 and with shipping it ran $117, but i live down the road from their online store so my shipping my be a little cheaper. BBTS had them for $120 + shipping. at CP you have to pay in full, BBTS they hold your money until it's in stock. it was worth it to me to just pay and get it cheaper! there's is another version with the swords but that was around $20 or $30 more i believe.

2. the flames come on the pieces. no need to paint them on.

Thanks, I'll give it some thought now that I have a dollar figure. Is BB half the price simply based on size?
axiom
Honestly, they could double the price and I'd still bite. This thing is just perfect!
Come on BBTS get mine in already!!!!!!
SydneyY
Looks awesome, and I'm quite relieved to know he looks that good without any extra paint. I am still worried I might manage to fuck up somehow though.

In Generation 2011 book there is an interview of the staff member in charge of DM kits, and he said he wanted to expand to other series besides Transformers as well...such as Diaclones, Dagram or (most importantly for me) Votoms

I just went over to Capturedprey looking for the other version and I don't see it. On BBTS the other version is probably closer to $60-70 more. If it was only $20 more I might consider it. I'm not paying $60 more for 2 extra hooks.
unlikelyhero
I do hope they produce a buster prime version, with a shiney endoskeleton, the current version doesnt do it for me. And at a 100 plus I shouldn't be doing any dry brushing

It's "Snap-Fit Model", no need to glue when assemble, as recent Japanese models trend. and it's just "put outer armor on preassembled skeleton(see image)", so the armor parts are basically removable I think.
Jonny Napalm
Just bought!

Looks incredible.

A question - what kind of tools should I use when putting this thing together (never built anything like this before, unless toys from Kinder eggs count..)?

I'm concerned about flash from the sprues.

God mode: Hobby snips, x-acto blade
Close enough: nail clippers
Smasher
Wow -that looks really awesome.
I hope they do a Megatron next.
I don't think any of the Leader Megatron toys have done the movie designs any justice.

3840 Yen for EMS. The total came out to about $130 which is about the same as BBTS with UPS shipping.

Yeah, I got the invoice around 6 AM this morning.
chapsy
for those wondering how to go about clear coating the outer armor panels, all you really have to do is clean them up with varying grits of sandpaper(from coarser to finer). doing that should clean up any residual nub marks.
After that, clean any sanding dust from the parts, and spray some clear coat on. Everything should come out A-OK.
The only parts that might need paint would be the inner frame. I see a lot of pistons and details that would really make the kit pop given some primer and paint work. Is the pre-assembled skeleton able to be taken apart? I have a feeling that paintint would go much smoother if that were the case.

Yeah, I got the invoice around 6 AM this morning.
WTF?

I better shoot them an email, it seems weird that someone who ordered today would get an invoice over my pre order from like a month ago.
Bountyan
I really want this, but it's way too expensive for my budget right now. I might wait for a while and see if it ever goes on sale or something on HLJ.
Agent-GHQ
Nice detail but for that price it would have been well worth it if only it can transform too. I guess this is good for those modelers and kit bashers!

Ult.Oprime
holy f*** this guy just looks -omygawd!! his face and his whole chest and whole body is so detailed and clean!! i must get this guy even if i have to fight for it!
MACRAPTRON
Looks odd. I'll be getting the Revoltech one which looks much better.
stormshadow0621
Ordered yesterday at amiami and paid today...

I combined it with an existing YF-29 order which just came out on the same day I guess. So adding it only cost me about $110 (stupid conversion rate). Should have done SAL shipping to save more...

(Got to sell more stuff to afford MP10, otherwise it gets cut from the 2011 budget)
OMEGAPRIME1983
Come on bbts! Lets get it on!!
BLK-OUT 4500X
HEY does anyone know if prime comes with 2 blades or just one blade .

Should be 2.
Batman
I need to go get a smaller file, some of these bits look really tiny.
Sam Witwicky
I'm really really hoping BBTS gets this guy in this week plus I'll have money for him by the end of the week too. This is going to be more fun putting him together then a Kre-o.

Now see thats the one thing that disappoints me about the Revoltech Optimus Prime is that he only comes with one sword and not two like the dual model kit.
fstop245
I wish they could have come up with this a long time ago...I bought two of them!
fstop245
PS it doesn't get any better than this. At least it's only 1/10th the price of Slideshow Collectible (almost)?
Matrix Soul
Holy crap, it's the same size at leader prime? Now I don't mind the price tag so much!
Batman
This is the email I got from Ami Ami, it applies to all Canadian dudes with orders/preorders:

Quote:
Hello,

Due to the current strike situation with the Canada Post the Japan Post is currently unable to accept shipments to be sent to Canada. Our store's current strategy is to hold paid orders for shipment and hold unpaid order in their current status until either the situation in Canada improves or until the beginning of July. Basically, we will simply "freeze" to be billed or sent to Canada during this period. If services have not resumed by the beginning of July we will reassess the situation as well as our response to it.

If we receive orders for in stock items or you have pre-orders that come in stock during this period we will not send invoices during this period but will instead hold the order until the end of June. The Japan Post has notified us that any packages returned by the Canada Post because of the strike will have their postage refunded, and as such even in the worst case scenario your shipping fees will not go to waste.

We thank you for your patience during this period. We will, of course, contact you regarding your order upon either receiving updated information regarding the situation in Canada or, failing that, at the beginning of July.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this and thank you for your patience during this period. We hope that shipments are able to be resumed quickly and our store will do everything in our power to get orders out to our Canadian customers as soon as the situation allows. In the meantime, we ask for your kind understanding.

Best regards,

AmiAmi

Depends on how good you are at building model kits.
