I'd agree that things do not need to be G1…..then I see them in G1 and I want them…..come on Grimlock!
Stepper
That red mouth kills it for me.
Hound89
I'm Gonna Get This And the Standard one.
G1 version i'm gonna put a ore traditional Head on him To be Classic "Slug"
while the Purple one Will Be the new "Slag" The First Female Dinobot Cause I'm a jerk Like that
Stepper
Even though I love G1 but I am seriously starting to get burnt out on this.
jamarmiller
If the the AOE dinobots were done in g1 colors I would have added them to my collection, but as they are, I'm not even slightly interested
JukeOutlander
It looks nice. I sorta dig these Dinobots more because they look like they could fit in the Dark Souls game.
SpinalCord
And not enough Beast Wars.
Stepper
Wonder if there will be more repaints of Dinobots.
[Wing_Saber-X]
not going to happen……..
Stepper
Oh my god, this G1 colour wins everything, definitely like the red and gold look.
Sportimus
Come on, Hasbro! Make something like that!!!!!
Autovolt 127
This G1 deco Slug is absolutely beautiful. I really need to find a way to justify its price on an AOE figure.
I guess this means that AOE Slug will now be repurposed as Killer Punch then.
jestermon
It looks neat but also kind of too much red and silver.
Needed more gold or dark grey metallic somewhere, Slag wasn't that shiny.
Dino mouth needed to be gold and some gold on the back.
I'm not being picky but they were going for g1 colors and it's really not.
Omnus
Yeah, I'm sure we'll get them in G1 or movie accurate colors, but only as the most PAIN IN THE ASS possible set – SDCC exclusives. The biggest F U that Hasbro can possibly throw at us.
LegendAntihero
It looks brilliant, I want to import it.

You're talking to a guy who's half Japanese and fluent in Japanese. Weather it be "Sraggu" or "Sruggu", it's still the same, スラッグ. While its not as drastic as the inability to distinguish between the "r" and "l" sounds, Japanese still have difficulty telling the difference between the "a" and "u" sound. Both "ra" and "ru" are represented by ラ.

Cool!
That actually looks kinda nice. A nice nod to G1 Slag.
sh002
Looks cool buy I'd probably wouldn't buy it
GAUGE
I gotta admit, it looks kinda cool.

I know enough about Japanese to know they can use Modifiers to portray the intent required like Ve instead of Be by using Kanji if they need to. In fact I don't think Ve has even been around that long as a word/letter/symbol combination in Japan.
I would want proof that WFC's Slug & is the same spelling as G1 Slag. as the lack of L is going to make a dog breakfast out of the intended pronunciation regardless.
They might as well call him Shrug. Besides Takara have been known to put English names on their Toy Packaging as well as Japanese so they don't have the excuse of not putting Slag instead of Slug even if it's buried in the detail somewhere.
I wonder how it's Pronounced in old media and new media though in Japanese ?
Is it Sraggu for Slag and Sruggu for Slug.
Besides Slug is a stupid name without a modifier like 'Slinger' added to it it sounds like a garden pest more than a bullet or a punch to most people who seem to hear it – many laugh out loud when they do In my experience.
Thought Slag-Slinger would be unintentionally hilarious if you wanted to be super literal.

I assume that's Undermine (or equivalent) ?
Reminds me of the randomness of the Rot Gut toy – suggesting that.
I think that would be a good use if there is a place for it – but Movie / G1 colours need to be addressed before we start shouting about making Grimlock Purple/blue and so on…
To Much colour is ideal for flanker brands in Target sometime in 2015 but not for mainline items unless they have address the colour-gate issue first.
