Hasbro Transformers license holder Vilsco Textiles is providing a treasure trove in content from the upcoming Michael Bay movie; Transformers: Age Of Extinction. Thanks to the site, fans are treated with Concept Art featuring not only Optimus Prime and Bumblebee but also Hound, Drift, Lockdown and Grimlock.

The content also sheds light on some key factors such as Hasbro's upcoming plans for the franchise as well as how the Transformers 4 Toy Isles will look like.

Regarding the concept art, it is clear that the characters had not undergone major changes considering their final looks we see these days. The concept artwork we see today was previously seen during the principal photography of TF4 as Clapperboard Images and Robot Poles. Also among the concept art is the elusive Silver Knight Optimus Prime. There seems to be a moment where Optimus activates or bonds with Grimlock (kind of like what happened in Eragon/How To Train Your Dragon) in the movie. And the Hound concept art is similar to the Transformers: Prime Bulkhead concept art we saw back in 2010. Speaking of years... the concept art dates back to 2012, indicating that they have started working on the 4th movie as soon as the 3rd was over.

Moving onto Hasbro's plans. In 2017 we will see Transformers 5. The placeholder logo for the 5th Movie is included with the plans. Video Game news we've heard before and there will be 2 new Animated Features planned for the first quarter of 2015 and for the first quarter of 2016. The cartoons feature new faction logos and that's something worth investigating into. The cartoon will run for 2 years, bridging the gap between Age Of Extinction and Transformers 5 just like what Transformers: Prime did.

Other than these contents, you’ll also find some upcoming merchandise such as Earphones, USB Chargers, Keyrings etc. as well.

Checkout the cool images we've mirrored, after the jump.

EPIIIIIIIC!!!! Nice find dude
Lazerwave
That last picture of Optimus touching Grimlock's nose is reminding me of the bonding scene in How To Train Your Dragon.
SPLIT LIP
Holy shit Lockdown is so damn cool.

Hound looks really sweet, too. He's a fatty-fat though. Funny how none of his movie toys are fat. Maybe he won't be in the movie?

EDIT: And yeah, Drift is black and gold there. Deffinitely old concept art.
fallen_revenge
JAWDROP! It's kinda wierd how they have that "fanart" of Grimlock at the end.
Fallout
huh, so hound was actually kinda tubby and drift was gold and black?

optimus and grimlock look so cute, aw.

I noticed that too, very strange. That is a really old one from deviantart

Hound's (early?) design is clearly based on Bulkhead. The underbite being reimagined into a full robo-beard.

Lockdown's visor face appears to be a face mask.

Drift's color change to blue and black was possibly at Bugatti's request.

The more I see of Hound the more he looks like he should have been Bulkhead.
eagc7
Hound is realllllly fat
kaijuguy19
I'm really getting a strong Bulkhead vibe from Hound.
SPLIT LIP
I'm convinced Hound used to be Bulkhead, and maybe had his named changed once the character became so gun-toting.
fallen_revenge
All interesting pictures, especially Silver Knight Optimus.

That was exactly what I was going to post as soon as I came into this thread and saw Hound. There's no way he wasn't originally intended to be Bulkhead with that build and alt-mode.

Also, I'm really, REALLY digging that Silver Knight Prime. If any of the unrevealed molds for him are any good, I'd buy them in that deco in an instant, despite the fact that the only transformers I've bought in a year have been Masterpieces.
Noideaforaname
It's weird, Movie designs don't normally remind me of a certain character but "Hound" there is so ridiculously Bulkhead-esque I can't believe it isn't intentional.
Dirge121
Man what is up with Hounds arms. They just look like they'd flail around like a slinky.
Goldimus Prime
Anybody click that link at the top and look at the other supplemental to retailer type info-graphics? Do we know yet what that Auto-bat and Decepti-corn looking insignias are for? Obviously for the "animated stunt"-- but has there been any speculation about this yet?

Personally, I'm perennially hopeful for a beast wars redux-- and those logos have a maximal/predicon vibe (with heavier autobot/decrpticon influences). If there's already a discussion about this detail will somebody point me in the right direction?
Venksta
Anyone else notice what the watermarks say? "Aaron Archer". And the dates are from end of 2012 or beginning of 2013. They were working on these designs really early. I'm curious if these were actually all designed by Aaron Archer.

"Decepti-corn" was a early version of the Prime Predacon insignia, which was changed so late in the game some Kre-Os didn't have the chance to update before release:

Though seeing "Auto-bat" and the fact that there are weird hybrid-style insignias of both of the G1-BW faction pairs makes me wonder if there was more to it than just adding dragons to Prime...

Where can one find images of these? O_o
Lazerwave
Wait.

It says Merchandise will be on shelfs May 1st instead of May 17th.
eagc7
So TF5 in 2017?

another 2 year break before the film releases?. Crap....how i will survive another 2 years without Transformers (not counting toys) 1 year is enough
Red Goblin
I'm in heaven.
daisorajin
Sure! I also think that he looks more like bulkhead
Chopperface
These are pretty cool. Hound looks really great, and maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see but Lockdown looks like a scarred Lance Henriksen in the face, just a bit.

Shoot, I used the wrong "they're"... I'm saying that since 'Decepti-corn' is an apparent hybrid of the Decepticon and Predacon insignias, and that 'Auto-bat' is an apparent hybrid of the Autobot and Maximal, that it makes me wonder if they are hold overs from some unused concept.
96megatron
Wow Hound reminds me of Leadfoot and I love it!
Red Goblin
Hound is an incredible design but the arms are really off-putting. And I actually love Drift's 'Noisy Boy' color scheme from Real Steel.
SilverOptimus
Anyone remember the Clapperboard art work?

Probably something really cool that will then get taken and posted on another site as official concept art for TF5.

I keep thinking about Animated Leader Class Bulkhead with his added missiles and gun turret."Time for the big guns!". I think he should have been Bulkhead and a cross between Animated and Prime. Just because he is "gun-toting" does not mean his personality couldn't have been the same. He could be a gentle, kindhearted giant among his friends but a powerful soldier in battle. Anyways he'll be Bulkhead to me.
spiritprime
Anyone seem to think Rules of Nature from Metal Gear Rising should fit Grimlock?

He's cursed with awesomness I supose

This is the greatest concept art of optimus prime and his friends awesome

I too am curious about that May 1st shelf date. Wondering if instead of May 17th the toys will be on shelves on May 1st. That would be nice.
Viral
My far fetched dream is that the "auto-bat" symbol has nothing to do with the autobots and a key plot point with the new cartoon will be multiple new decepticon fractions poping up in the absence of megatron, one of which being led by everyone's fav accountant: Ratbat

I have a bad feeling though that if that's the concept art hasbro/takara was working off of for Lockdown that we won't see any of his figures without his "battle mask." Maybe not, maybe his deluxe will have a removable mask or we'll get a variant down the road with his unmasked face and possibly even his hook hand weapon.... but I kinda doubt it
C310 Ginrai
I kinda want that mouse... =P
Sso02V
The aspect ratios on those bot-mode pics seem kinda off. I wouldn't be surprised if Bulkhound wasn't so blatantly round in the film itself. That said, he sure is loaded for bear. Hell, he's loaded for Bearzilla, king of bears.
Burnout00012
Daaaamn..

Get hype!!
Afterburner
Thankfully, eventually they will run out of stereotypes.

I like. May 1st? Hope so.

The new faction insignias are interesting, but who wrote the stuff on those slides? It smells of Engrish. The grammar is painful in places.

Personally, I wish Lockdown would just have the visor, like a combination of Animated Oil Slick and Prime Soundwave, instead that doofy face. Then again, I never can stand most movie headsculpts.

By the way, in case anyone wanted a shitty official knock-off of Device Label and Music Label, your wish has now come true. Even if those things weren't amazing, at least they were full Transformers - that much was neat (although I still wish the Frenzy and Rumble could detach from the headphones, because then they wouldn't feel like you're wearing lead on your ears, and it'd be a win-win situation).

As for silver Optimus.... why? Why does Optimus need to be in silver? Just wait until that thing gets a toy. It'll be non-stop chrome and cost $300. I wouldn't even be surprised if it WASN'T a lucky draw figure.

Then there are those garish Transformers 4 insignias. Hasbro, please stop.

This whole thing smells of a marketing disaster. But it might turn out to be good - just that their marketing slides are terrible. Let's hope for the latter, I suppose.

TFWiki calls it the "Predacon Prototype Insignia".

It's shown up in several places actually:

Beast Hunters Cyberverse Legion Class Twinstrike early promotional photos (the final toy has the standard Predacon insignia)
Beast Hunters Deluxe Class Lazerback early promotional photos (the final toy has the standard Predacon insignia)
Minor redeco of Beast Hunters Voyager Class Predaking (first sculpt) available in a European Toys"R"Us exclusive two-pack with Voyager Class Optimus Prime, confirmed releases in Portugal, the UK and Germany.
And, as you mentioned already, some specimens of Kre-O Corhada, but not all of them. Promotional photos all depict the final Prime Beast Hunters Predacon insignia.
OptimusPrimeval
Maybe it's just my projected hopes, but it definitely feels like they are gearing the animated series back to beast-formers in time for BW's twentieth! Perhaps the Predacons replace the Decepticons... I'm excited anyway, the promise of more Beast Wars will carry me through the Age Of Extinction!
Yggdrasil
Yeah nothing will ever convince me that "Hound" isn't movie-Bulkhead. It's easily one of the best translations of the original character design to movie. It's Bulkhead and I love it.

Drift is really cool, but I'm glad that they went with the blue colour cheme.

Bumblebee is okay-ish. I like it better than the first trilogy sure but I really generalyl dislike Bumblebee as the badass mussle-car warrior so eh.

Lockdown looks fairly generic to me. I like the face a lot but the overall body design it really nothing special.
Mr.Deflok
I really hope we get accurate and pose-able figures of the bots like the DMK. Really love Prime's new design. Heck, I love all of them so far.
Ultrawave
I feel like Drift looks really... awkward.

I can't put my finger on why, but I keep going back and forth between liking and hating him.

He's so blatantly samurai that I almost hate it, but as a toy it works. In that concept art he just looks...bad, and I've never said that about a movie design before...

Most of the time the designs are really unique and different, like Sideswipe or Rampage/Skipjack, or how Devastator walked on all fours, etc., but Drift just strikes me as weird, almost not from the same universe and style...

Definitely got to agree with the Hound-Was-Bulkhead sentiments though.

Also, maybe this is just me, but does it almost look like to anyone else that the new robots (Hound, Lockdown, etc.) are all designed almost in the old movie style, compared to the new smooth and less partsy look of new Prime and Bumblebee?
