Calibre Movie Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Premium Statues Update

The upcoming Movie Optimus Prime and Bumblebee statues from Calibre were shown off at the Ani-Con & Games Expo Hong Kong 2012, and our sponsors Robot Kingdom were there to take pictures. From the information relayed by Robot Kingdom, we can report that these will be released in the fourth quarter 2012, and will feature goodies like LED light up eyes, rubber tyres, electroplated parts, interchangeable battle masked heads, optional hands and weapons for different display options. Optimus will stand at around 20 inches tall and Bumblebee at around 14 inches in height. The pricing on them is not confirmed, but indications given here suggest that Optimus Prime will be over $1000 and Bumblebee somewhere in the region of $900 - these are high end collectibles, based on the actual movie CGI, for serious collectors.

I would really like that Optimus Primem, but damn $1,000. Maybe I should sell off... my transformers collection...

$1000 for a non-transformable, non-G1, but movie accurate Prime?....nice.....but pass.

If it was $300, then it would be something to consider.

statues don't transform.. is that concept really that difficult to understand...

I'm a sucker for screen-accurate figures like this, DMK and Revoltech. I'll stick with my (soon to be two) Optimus Revoltech's, thanks, but these are still awesome. And at 20" tall it's near perfect scale for 3.75" figures.

The only negative thing I can see is that Optimus' axe isn't orange. Not a big deal though.

Apparently. With the exception of a few figures (HFTD Leader Starscream, for example), if the thing is 99%+ screen accurate, chances are it doesn't transform.

Next thing you know, people will go to places like Universal Studios, or some Transformers launching events, and bitch that the mock-up statues there don't actually transform into vehicles.

Figures like this are meant to be put in a display case like a prized possession. It isn't something you're going to fiddle with every other day. There are tons of other transformable, Transformers toys out there which cater to that need.

they look AMAZING but i notice bumblebee had a gun arm again , i wonder if it can transform into a hand . For 900 bucks i would hope so, cause i hate it when he only has 1 hand mind you its not like it matters cause i cant afford 1 of em
