Great news for you movie fans out there, Robot Kingdom just posted preorders for the newly announced Age of Extinction AD-32 Stinger. Sadly this is just a repaint of new concept Camaro Bumblebee. Hopefully this will fill the gap in many of our movie collections.

He won't be hard to get.

Their portrayal in the movie has nothing to do with their toy being made. Look back in the days of Revenge of the Fallen. Sideways, Jolt, Demolishor. Mixmaster, and Grindor all got toys, even with how little they appeared. And they sold like hotcakes.
In my opinion, it's just another stupid idea on Hasbro's part. Remember when they said that Fembots wouldn't sell?

You have right about that, first movie had two LC cons and only one Autobot. Really shame that movie cons have no LC for a few years.
Well, Stinger was nothing, I admit I mistake him many times with red Trax, but Hasbro put him on official materials.

Apparently Decepticon toys don't sell. I blame the movies making them an army of generics led by interchangeable, and expendable monsters. I mean, how memorable was Stinger? He had no dialogue, he looked way too similar to the generic Chevy Trax prototypes, and his only fight scene was almost impossible to make out. Why would that make someone want to buy his toy?
Leader Class is the most expensive, and as such, sells the least, so Hasbro doesn't make many.
In the ROTF film, the Constructicons with individual robot modes were separate from the ones who formed Devastator, and the toys reflect that.
I'm pretty certain all the Dinobots in the film were the same size, so I don't know why you singled out Scorn for a Voyager?
Apparently US retailers overestimated how well the DOTM toys would sell. They ordered too much of the earlier waves from Hasbro, and when they couldn't shift all their stock, they didn't buy the later waves.

1. voyager constructicons are supposedly being made for combiner wars and will be released in a gift set at the titan class price point.
2. no love for que or soundwave? Neither of whom got a US release after DOTM either
3. an argument could also be made for a leader class shockwave.

I don't see why if Hasbro got the license to make Paganis, they don't make a proper Stinger Deluxe.
I will wait. In Transformers, patience is often rewarded. Well sometimes.
But still: we wait
No LC Megatron truck from DOTM
No LC Bonecrusher from TF 2007
No LC Blackout
No LC Hound from AoE (yet – but that's a good one! Would be popular now, too)
No LC Fallen
No LC / MP G1 Cyclonus
No LC / MP G1 Galvatron
No LC / MP G1 Scourge
No LC Slog (Sludge)
No LC Scorn
No Constructicon combiner set that fully transforms in all modes from ROTF, but Combiner Wars is the time to redo at least the G1 Devastator in Deluxe size (though I'd add Voyagers in where appropriate)
No Voyager Scorn from AoE. Would be to scale with Grimlock and Slog (Sludge)
No Deluxe Leadfoot for USA release from DOTM

Super excited about it. I don't care if he does not transform into a Pagani. However, this might be a hard to get, and I won't wait until January to get it. I might get two Bumblebees if all else fails.
hthrun
Yeah, I spent time looking them over and it would be quite an undertaking, and probably look bad in vehicle mode…
Autovolt 127
Yeah that's a good point.
harrismonkey
You'll never get it to transform trying to mix those two (I don't think and I have both), because of the size difference. Not sure if there's anything to be gained here by putting one step parts on this guy.

I've got a repaint in hand that looks very similar to what they're doing. Sure I'd prefer a brand new head, but when the mouth is changed to helmet color (red in this case) rather than silver mouth it works surprisingly well.
If they had done a new head I might have bought this. Otherwise the Cheetimus repaint I have is better. (the guy can paint)
hthrun
Planning to get this! I would like to try modding it with the car mode parts from the one-step changer, but I'm afraid the sizes are too different…

This Stinger's surprisingly affordable for a Takara release. I think a full battle-mask remold would have warranted a higher price. That said, it looks decently movie-accurate, I don't think a lot of people would have a problem with it.
Raiyuki
Stinger generally has the full masked face (which they totally could've then used for bumblebee but they didn't.) I know there's that little piece that's supposed to cover the eyes but it doesn't really work as an actual mask
Raiyuki
If GM really IS telling Hasbro not to make cons then that would be a reason we've gotten no Bugbites
tfcrafter
Bumblebee has the same head as Stinger. I don't see the need for a retool.
Raiyuki
Could've used a head retool at least but that said; YAY STINGER!
Megatron276
Damn I already did that

I have no way of knowing, but my suspicion is that they weren't comfortable having a toy and it's repaint in the same wave. Since there will be no waves after three…
Of course if that is the case they're still IDIOTS. Any fool could have figured out that there will be more demand for Stinger (even in the same wave as BB) than there will be for an UGLY, off screen character repaint taken from the biggest shelf warmer of the line.
