By way of 2005 Boards member Timothy.R we have a sighting of a whole swarm of Age of Extinction Leader class Bumblebee! The leader class Bumblebee is the third Leader class toy released for the Age of Extinction line, and is a re-release of the Dark of the Moon toy, without the MechTech weapon. Definitely one for the completists, or the fans of ‘bee! He was found at Costco in Montgomeryville, PA.

It's a good mold. You can't go wrong with it.

I'm glad this was the Costco exclusive so I don't have to get a membership anytime soon
DOTM Bumblebee
No. Just no. I am a fan of Bumblebee, don't get me wrong, I love the character to pieces, and I love a lot of the (many) toys of the character, but taking a decent figure, removing the cool gimmick and making it into an inaccurate repaint of the character? I understand the need to repaint a figure so Jetfire could come earlier, but why not a rust-damage Leader Class Optimus Prime (ROTF mold)? Sorry, but this one's an easy pass for even Bumblebee fans like myself.

Well, Bumblebe is shipping in solid cases because there are no other toys in the same assortment. DOTM Leader Class is larger than AOE Leader Class, so Bumblebee gets a unique packaging size and thus an assortment of his own.

I never bought the dotm leader bumblebee.
This even with the reduced paint apps and lack of mechtech weapons is still well worth the 26 bucks.
So, i just ordered one.
It will do well on my bee only shelf and for the price of a voyager class im pretty happy.

I was expecting that this year's costco exclusive would be a deal on Stomp and Smash Grimlock, not this miscreant.
thunder117
That's quite understandable, but this is also a waste of plastic that could have been used to better the regular Generations mold.
What is the point of re-releasing a shitty leader Bumblebee who has even less paint than his DotM release, and doesn't have his updated 2014 Camaro mode?
This is just a total waste for everyone.
Leather Elbows
That stupid thing has been in Ireland since Early June. Only generations AOE figure we can get here besides the other two leaders.

If only Hasbro had made a leader Ratchet. I believe he deserves one as he was the only original member who didn't die apart from Bee. If Ironhide got a leader due to his death, then why didn't everyone's favorite medic. Plus his death was by far the most emotional.

It's HASBRONOMICS at work.
Take for example the CLASSICS line: as many a fanboi 'round here have explained, the CLASSICS line could not have been possible had it not been for the movie line. See, the profits that HASBRO made from the Movie toys that went on sale in 2007 completely funded the Classics line, which went on sale in 2006- a full year before.
See?
HASBRONOMICS.
In like manner, the profits made by these BB's will fund the R&D, creation, production and packaging of Leader Jetfire (even tho they all have been done for some time now- but we not need to think about that).
See?
HASBRONOMICS!

Why do I want this?!?!

Considering these look to be shipping in solid cases to Costco, and the fact that we haven't seen this offered by etailers or in the usual retail stores I think its safe to assume that state-side this a Costco exclusive.

Thanks. Damn, at that price it is actually tempting. Even though I got him the first time around (I think on clearance). Time to avoid Costco so I don't have any impulse purchases. Now lets just hope Costco gets Leader Jetfire for us.

LOLWUT indeed.

LOL, wut?

I actually liked this Bee. A lot. If I can find a junker cheap enough, I'd entertain taking an arm and fabbing a hand for it to get rid of that stupid gun stump the toy has.

No need to wait, his price at Costco is $26.99.
Got it the first time, partner. My mistake, as LC Starscream was in fact considered Masterpiece.
As a collector of no less sophisticated figures than those (typically) in Leader Class (or higher), Masterpiece, and the occasional Platinum Edition, I stand by this release being of much greater worth to (adult) AOE collectors who are not satisfied with the hordes of incredibly simplified shellformer deluxes, one-step changers, flip changers, and non-transforming "Transformers" nicely warming our shelves for the winter. I almost exclusively order everything online these days. Further, his price point, nevertheless a LC figure, is that of a typical voyager.
Thus far, my AOE collection includes Evasion Mode & Rusty Version Evasion Mode Prime, FE Prime, PE LC Grimlock & Prime (pre-ordered, obviously), and I will now happily add LC Bumblebee.

Anyone have a Costco item number for this?
Maybe this toy isn't for collectors from all of the previous negative comments, but seeing this is Bumblebee and how well the character sells with kids, I still see these selling well during the holiday season which is just around the corner, thus Costco ramping up.
On another note, only 1 Costco in my area sold Metroplex last year, so who knows if we'll even get Bumblebee?

Let the Shelves be warmed!!!! Marshall's will be all yellow next year.
