Walmart Exclusive Revenge of the Fallen Super Tuner Throwdown Released at US Retail

Hi all, have a little "news" and wierdness.

Stopped at walmart to look for MP Skywarp and found the new Walmart exclusive Super Tuner Throwdown. I didn't get it but I found the bottom of the box very odd. It has the Toys_R_Us exclusives advertised on it. G1 colored Hoist and Mixmaster. It says each sold separately and mixmaster is a deluxe and hoist is a voyager.

Do want the Pipes homage, I'll be looking for this with Skywarp I guess.

Cool find and all but I think I"ll hold off on getting this set and just wait for Crackpipe vs. Upsidedown.....its a Kmart exclusive.

I know its probably just a misprint, but I would be happier if the G1 Mixmaster was sold individually, since I only want him and not interested in Hoist at all.

this has to be pretty close to the lamest exclusive ever (or at least in recent memory) would it have killed them to AT LEAST do a palette swap on Sideways? (silver parts->red, red parts->black, black parts ->silver/grey)

Ugh. If that was ANY OTHER COLORATION of Sideways I'd be all over this set. But it's the same original coloration, so I'll pass, even though Blowpipe/Pipes looks nice.

But seriously, I've even have gone for another Swindle mold repaint, just not another Sideways! What, is Hasbro afraid that because Sideswipe kills Sidesways in the opening battle scene that the toys won't sell of Sideways?

I have to say the only thing I like about this is Blowpipe. Everything else is just FAIL. The repackaged Sideways months after he's been warming the shelves, the misadvertising of the TRU exclusives, and I believe the price was $27? Back when the deluxes were $13, that wasn't TOO bad, but now that they're $10 its just overpriced deluxes.

So this is the lighter of the 2 colors of Sideways then.

Totally agreed. Multi-packs in which one of the figures has already seen a single release are just annoying. Any change, ANY change to the re-used figure would make it worthwhile, but it is obnoxious to end up buying the EXACT SAME FIGURE twice.

Since there is that lime-green RPM Sideways repaint "Wreckloose" coming out, this would have been a nice chance to do a full-fledged deluxe version of that character (and his gaudy coloring would actually work great with the "Super Tuner" name). Or use it to preserve another about-to-expire Hasbro trademark... surely there have got to be a few of those lying around, right? White version as Runamuck, maybe? ANYTHING. Heck, even slapping some different detailing on him and still calling him Sideways would have been preferable.

this set is already in retail here in the philippines, that blowpipe is sure a must (even if dropkick and salvage are like everywhere!)....hope they can sell him in single package!

At first i didnt care for this set, but starting to really like the homage to Blowpipe (homeage to Pipes) and i think i will pick it up, but i wont open it. Anyway, MP Skywarp is priorty 1!!!

You want BOTH Hoist & G1 Mixmaster, but only, if they sell them separately? WTF? Just buy the set, unless you mean you have no TRU to go to and you hope they sale them as a wider release later.... then, I think you're probably S.O.L.

I'm getting it for darker sideways too and putting blowpipe with my Universe

yeah, if this goes on clearance i may get this set for blowpipe, but don't want sideways again at all... and i wish skywarp was on clearance here... i'd get him for 10
