Wal-Mart Exclusive Allspark Power Big Daddy, Grindcore, Jolt and Divebomb Out

Thanks to TFW2005 Board member Riverlos for letting us know that he found the Walmart deluxe figures Big Daddy, Grindcore, Jolt, Divebomb at the Walmart in Fontana, CA. He was kind enough to provide these camera phone pics:

Those were purchased on ebay from people like TFCtoy (who no longer sells, but he did at the time)

Divebomb, repaint of the Cyb Thundercracker/Skywarp mold.

I'm gonna get some of these.

Looks like they will be on endcap displays. Of course that won't stop them from being on the shelves with the regular deluxes.

Those are a group I am definately gonna pass. Just waiting for Salvage to complete and put this series to bed.

Man, I GOTTA get all of these... I love each and every one. But with no Walmarts nearby, I have a sinking feeling I'll end up paying a premium online.

No matter... these are worth a little extra.

Grindcore is a must buy just for the name alone!

Same with Big Daddy. I'd buy a black flamed Wheelie if it was called Big Daddy

Cool. I'll definitely pick up Grindcore and Big Daddy. After those two and the Premiums, I am done with the movie line.

I've been waiting for a Big Daddy sighting, now that he's out, it's just a matter of waiting for him to show up here. I would get Jolt too but I cant really afford it. And I like Grindcore's name but not the figure.

Damn Cataclizm1 you always beat me home to report sightings. I too found these only in riverside. Question did your endcap have regular deluxes mixed in too? just wondering if they ship that way.
Also the quality on these was piss poor. The worse I have gotten in a long time. The plastic feels of a lesser quality. I have chips and frayed edges where the spurs were attached. The pin in big daddy's arm was crooked causing stress marks. Horrible paint apps. Jolt has purple spilled all over his visor. Dive bomb's camo paint is so thin you can see brush strokes and the color of the plastic beneath . The silver highlights on big daddy and jolt is so thin its rubbed off in several places. Just all around sloppy. These guys feel alot like the all yellow build team repaint wal-mart years ago. Its like they cut every corner possible

And I'm quite thankful for it, since I never got my ass in gear and picked up Crosswise or Smokescreen before, in spite of how they seemed like shelfwarmers around here. I've already made up my mind on Grindcore, but I don't care much for the Downshift mold and Divebomb has an...interesting color scheme.

Time to start hunting. Grindcore and Big Daddy are definets since they're two of my favorite molds and how can one NOT buy a TF named Big Daddy. Jolt is a maybe. I like the deco, G2 Jolt was one of my favs as a kid, and I like the Crosswise mold, but I don't LOVE it like I do the first two I mentioned, I have Smokescreen, getting Botcon Jazz, and as much as I love G2 Jolt, this just isn't close enough for me as far as the head goes. Divebomb is a "probably not" since I'm not a fan of that mold. I've only kept the Skywarp recolor because my wife won it as the first Saturday door prize at Botcon 2006 so it stays with other small items of sentimental meaning.

Just out of curiosity, may I ask why you dislike the Downshift mold? I can honestly say he's my favorite car TF mold to come out... Ever. I honestly can't think of another TF that turns into a car that I think is a better figure. I've been Jonesing for a Slicer recolor since I first got Downshift. I might just have to buy myself an extra to recolor. But yeah, just curious what you don't love about DS.

Classics Mirage is a better figure than the Downshift mold all around, though it in itself is pretty good.

I hope these are easy to find in a couple of months when I go to Cincy for Botcon.

(I can already picture myself paying secondary market prices for these at the dealer room though )

Want all of them except Jolt... looks like I'll be checking Wal-mart more often till I find these.

Big Daddy and Grindcore are definites for me (Grindcore mostly because it would be a substantial shortcut in a kitbash project I've got in mind.) Not so sure about Jolt. Divebomb almost certainly not.

My walmart has desert attack brawl. But not these yet. The end cap type display thing suggests they are going to milk the exclusive figures for more than one set up.

I want all four. These are honest repaints with honest reasoning to purchase $40 of fun. Homages to a g1 micromaster, a machine wars cyberjet, a g2 lasersword bot, and a g2 constuction bot.

Seriously. I need to own them.

Question: do Wal-mart exclusives turn up in Australia in some other store? Or will I never experience the joy of owning Big Daddy (as I missed Downshift first time around, and BD's colour scheme is full of win)?

Hope I can find these guys. I'd love to get Grindcore and Divebomb. Might get Big Daddy, too.

Boy the real question is how many Big Daddy's to get. At least two...ok three.

These look cool. But I'm passing on most of the repaints. One, I already have them and two, I don't want to spend the money to collect every incarnation that comes down the pipe.

Does anyone one else think "Big Daddy" is kind of an odd choice for a Transformer's name? It was like they were running out of creative names so they through some ghetto funk in there.

That's sort of the point. Big Daddy was originally a Micromaster, in those colors, that also transformed into a sort of pimpmobile. He got a lot of fans, primarily because of his name, and so that's why Big Daddy is seeing retail shelves again.

I dont know, I kinda like Jazz more.

I get it now. I'm pretty unfamiliar with the Micromaster mythos. Thanks for the explaination. Big Daddy is a cool name after all.

For everyone who complained that Botcon Jazz wasnt "evil enough," just buy Jolt and put Jazz's head on him. Problem vaguely solved.

No, these guys are definitely going with my Classics, as well. At least Big Daddy is, for sure... he's a G1 character, so that's a no-brainer. The others will either go with Classics or with AEC stuff. But no way they're going with the movie stuff, the aesthetics are just too different. I don't even keep the Target Scout repaints with the rest of the movie stuff, S7 logos notwithstanding.

These figures are much more in the spirit of Universe, and I suspect that timing is the only reason they came out in this line instead of that one.

And Starkiller80, if you want to check out Big Daddy some more I recommend Dreamwaves Micromasters 4 issue limited series. Its a good read! I think he tells Ultra Magnus and Fort Max to kiss his tailpipe.
