OK first off look what I found second I have a cybergliphics to english translator wich I'll use to "decode" the packaging.

My eagle eyes (shia labeouf joke) hath spotted Autobot and Decpticon symbols with the rest of the cybertronix thingies. Could this be significant???

Do you want to see it its straight from the first movies website also heres the box translated. I did the best I could, acouple of word were blurry, also it's pretty much gobobly gook so that was dissapointing.

Very nice packaging! At first i thought, "What a complex way of folding a box" then I saw it is merely cutouts over a clear package.

I don't think most people realise this is called test-packaging and happened before Classics 1.0's release as well. Superion will not be released in that packaging.

i have to say the desision to put this figure in movie 2 pakaging is kinda bizzare. but i like this packaging beter than its classics 2.0 pakage. the fallen on the front is cool. can't wait for these figs to come out.

I respectfully disagree. Tony received these images direct from Hasbro's PR guys, therefore they are officially released images. Hasbro would not officially release images of test packaging.

Additionally, Hasbro would not go to the trouble of making new artwork of test packaging. It's a waste of money. They had to pay someone to put together the layout of this package, pay an artist to draw the new headshot artwork, etc. Seems like a lot of money for something that is not going to be used at all.

I don't see how this is just test packaging. I remember seeing test packaging for the first Classics line, and it was basically what the actual classics toys came in, but had a Cybertron figure in it. The figure pictured on the packaging and even the name was for an actual Classics figure, and not for the one they were testing inside of it. It is a bit odd to release the set twice under two different lines, but it wouldn't be the strangest thing Hasbro has ever done. Maybe Target wanted to have their exclusive Gestalts released under both the Universe and the Movie line, just at different times. In the end it's too hard to tell what this really is. If it is just test packaging, I'm kinda curious what they'll be putting in it then.

I noticed that the Trans Logo has the color shift from blue to orange like the original show. My... What big Geewun you have!

besides, why go to all the trouble of rendering an image on what is just going to be used on a test packaging if they are not going to use it?

I like that too, I hope all the movie toys will have that kind of angle for the headshots, and the 3D looks cool as well (last time they were just digitally coloured 2D drawings, right?)

Does this mean that the Superion (and maybe Bruticus) set(s) will be re-released in May when the movie toys come out?

i should have taken pics of teh set when I was at wholesale today, they got cases of superion in. he was in the same packaging style as the bruticus, not what I see here

Airrazor? Poor Slingshot.... he got shafted from the team (granted, he's a bigger jerk then Animated Sentinel Prime). I sort of hoped for a more G1-color repaint, but I'm glad I left it out - that way I can stay with my Energon toys, those are more G1-accurate.

And btw, what's the deal with the different shades of blue on the Energon weapons? They did that with Bruticus too... weird.

why have hasbro put airazor into superion? ,where's slingshot?

I Actually think the Universe one is more Gen.1 accurate, granted the colors on the limbs (especially the red and brown guys) are not as strong as they could have been. That Silverbolt though really tries hard to be his Gen.1 counterpart.

I think the designers may have wanted to create a sense of individuality among the 4 smaller robots. It does bother me a bit since Classics/Universe Devastator's Energon limbs were all 1 uniform color, so that he would look more like one single being when combined together.

Damn that's some good packaging. Part of the reason I disliked the first movie's toys was that the packaging was, well, dark and not particularly interesting.

I hope the movie is as good as the packaging.
