TV Shows on DVD have learned that the live action 2007 Transformers Movie is coming to Blu Ray on September 2nd in a two disk special pack, similar to the set the UK is getting which we reported on earlier today.
TV Shows on DVD also clarified with Hasbro that Hasbro has reaquired full rights to all their Sunbow properties, including Transformers Generation 1. Unfortunately no plans are on the table just yet as Hasbro are still assessing their options, however with the live-action movie sequel due next year as well as the 25th anniversary, anything is possible.

That article confirmed that TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE will be released on blu-ray SEPTEMBER 2nd in a 2 disc special edition format....HOOA AH!!

EDIT...oops thread already made 20 minutes prior =P
Gigatron_2005:
Oh cool. Looks like I wont have to import that Blu Ray after all! Hopefully they made a good port of all those HDDVD spacial features over to BD-J. In addition I hope they use all 50GB of the BD disc for the movie and provide the best visual and audio experience that they can.
Galaxy Convoy:
Now, if they can get G1 back from Sony, then for the love of God Hasbro, pry RiD out of Disney's stingy hands.
Kenucme:
I had mentioned it here under the UK Blu-ray release thread:
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showpo...76&postcount=4

It just doesn't mention for which region it would be coded. But I think TV Shows on DVD just handles region 1 releases.

And the 90's X-Men cartoon!
Megatronwp38:
Sweet! can not wait TF needs blu-ray!
Railguard:
That sucks. I just bought a new dvd player like 4 months ago. I have to wait till this one breaks....mysteriously.....sort of.
Zaraxion1021:
YEAH!!! I cant wait for the movie to come out in blue ray!!! I can finally watch it happily.......
Kingplay:
blu-ray ftw

Reading that link, I'm boggled by the fact that (apparently North American) TF fans still can't understand how a European company could have come to control the worldwide distribution rights to Sunbow's stuff. Well, Loonland bought Sunbow's catalogue, that's how. And until this month, Hasbro didn't own any of those shows.

But... it says so right there that they got the North American license back from Sony BGM, who held the license from TV Loonland (who were the master owners of Sunbow's stuff).

I want M.A.S.K. God damn it.

Yes please.
Fez Findie:
Man, was I rather crying months back when comparison pics of the regular DVD and HD DVD of the movie were shown, for it being somethin' I wouldn't be getting at least any time soon (being a PS3 owner). But now...
Chris McFeely:
Friends don't let friends buy MASK on DVD.

(Seriously, don't. It's awful. I will actively sell you the four-disc first-38-eps R2 set that I have if you want it, becuase it's stinking up my house with it's fetidness.)

There's a R2 release of Mask and I don't own it! Damn it!
Hooper_X:
I figure if we're lucky, we'll get season box sets for the lines that Hasbro is actively promoting; TF, Joe, MLP. I know Hasbro recently reapplied for the Jem trademark, so it's probably safe to assume that they're looking into releasing that series as well.

As far as Inhumanoids, Visionaries, etc., I kind of doubt we'll get season sets for them. I could see Hasbro putting out single-disc collections to test the waters, though - either of the initial three/five-part miniseries they often used to introduce shows, or "fan favorite episode" compilations.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for a DVD box set of Bigfoot and the Muscle Machines or Glo Friends just yet.

-hx, wonder if that deal included Bucky O'Hare? Not technically Hasbro's property per-se, but who knows?
Aaron:
YAY!!!
butz:
They should put out Inhumanoids on DVD, and then re-launch the brand with an updated approach. Just don't release that episode with the one-eyed remorseless eating monster... they need to completely disregard that that ever happened. *shudders*
levister16:
if they want more buyings they know what must do get headmasters , masterforce , victory , beastwars nsecond , and beast wars neo series dvds over here i region 1 so they can get more buys and ratings and plus get eather sony bgm or funimation to the dvds because rhino will mess up the anomation again and we will complaints
optimus major:
give me g1 on boomerang damnit
tikgnat:
I have MASK S1 and all of Visionaries on R2 DVD. I'm really surprised the US is missing out here, considering they're American shows. Strange. Actually I just bought the 60's Captain America cartoon on DVD, the whole series. Hilarious as sin. Remember the spoof cartoon on The Incredibles? The whole series is JUST LIKE THAT. Seriously, watching Zemo throw a hissy is almost worth the price alone. (I'll gif it later if anyones interested)

I'd like Centurions and Inhumanoids on DVD, I remember seeing the Inhumanoids on VHS years ago and 'DECOMPOOOOOSE!!!' freaked me right out. Alas.

Um, okay? Seriously, I'm not sure what kind of point you're trying to make here or what it has to do with Disney and RiD
Otispq:
Yay for Bluray! now it looks like I finally have a reason to buy a player now!!
Motor_Master:
Inhumanoids, and Visionaries were only 13 episodes each. If hasbro does decide to release them on DVD they'd probably just release all the episodes on a 2-disc set.
