Today at Toys R Us I picked up a mudflap that has his name on his license plate, rather than "Trax". Has anyone else noticed this? Sorry if this is old news, I searched and couldn't find anything about it.

I think the Mudflap on the plate is accurate to the movie. Correct if wrong!

Yeah in the movie it said mudflap. The first mudflap I got says "Trax" on the license plate. I'll take a pic of the one I found today.

lol i went thru at least 10 skidz trying to find the gold tooth one and gave up, bought the one in my hand, turns out it was the gold tooth version lol at least the liscense plate will be easy to read in package

Here is a pic you can see it says mudflap instead of trax. The "mudflap" version is all orange with "mudflap" in black letters. Where the "trax" version has a grey license plate with an orange rectangle and "trax" in black letters.

Yeah, the pic makes it look bad. But it does not look drawn on at all in person. It has the same "font" as skids has on his toy.

Interesting. The one I got today says "Trax" and I found it sort of odd that they didn't put "Mudflap" since Skid's plate says "Skids".

I just checked mine and I have the TRAX version and I have the Gold tooth Skids. I keep mine mosc so it was hard to see the teeth.

Is there a way to check for the teeth prior to buying? Or is it just a gamble...?

I may have gotten an unpainted teeth Skids (it looked painted to me in package, too), but with Prime as my witness, I WILL get an accurate Mudflap!

yes there is a way. on the back of the card there is a number stamped right above the GM license. 91071 is one of the numbers for the gold tooth variant. there is a thread on here with the numbers in it.

you can do the numbers thing, or you can look thru the front window and do your best to try and see the painted teeth

I didn't know Skids had a painted/nonpainted tooth variant...
I got the painted one. Sweet. Got "trax" on Mudflap, though. Can't win 'em all!

Awww shoot. Just got my Mudflap yesterday. If I had known to look for that variation, I so would have. I got the lame Trax one.
Maybe I will buy another one and sell "Trax."

This actually stirred a thought in me.
You see, I was browsing around at toys department looking at ROTF toys & I chanced upon Skids & Mudflaps. Well, I did what I normally do, to have a good all-around look at the pieces & while Skids is "Skids", Mudflap was "Trax" or something.
This makes better sense now!

I don't mind if it says "Trax" on his plate, but "Mudflap" is more movie accurate and cooler. His brother says "Skids", which is movie accurate. I will be on the look out! I already lucked out on Skids (his tooth is painted
), but I'll check Mudflap's pack beforehand! As I said, I don't mind if it says "Trax", but if I can find one with "Mudflap", I'll buy that one.
