Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Dirt Boss in Package dirtboss-in-package
2005 Boards member S250 has provided us with an in-package image of the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Scout class toy, Dirt Boss. This also confirms the name of the forklift robot, which until now was only conjectured to be named Dirt Boss based on several auctions listed under the name.

Dirt Boss is a hilarious name for a dinky forklift like that.

any backside pics?
knook:
thought that was his name
LimeWire:
in movie game his name was scrapper

i love this toy, got my last week!
G1Wheeljack:
He's still Spoons the 2nd to me.
rapid_fire:
no hint of combination, guess he's not part of devastator
AutobotMurder:
Dirt Boss for a forklift? a monster truck maybe, but a forklift?

I liked spoons the 2nd best, but oh well.
ghostwave:
....OK!
Storm:
He won't be called dirtboss if I get him.

Liftor or Spoons suit him better
rattrap007:
I'll call him Scrapper...or Skippy..
Bass X0:
they're probably saving the name Scrapper for a proper Constructicon.
Takara_destron:
Cool, but he'll always be spoons to me.
Malunis_T:
G1Wheeljack beat me too it - To me, also, he will always be Spoons The 2nd. <3

When I get this figure, I'll constantly have him in the walking forklift (METAL GEAR) mode. :B
dark69:
the mold looks cool but odd name for it
shroobmaster:
He's like a little plastic Buddha.
Paxtin:
Spoons:
"You can change your name all you like, you are still a member of the Spoons family. You're a Spoons, you hear me boy? Spoooooons!"

Ok, now that I got that out of my system....

I wanna see this guys bio. I'm curious to see what his story is.
Grimwing:
If you don't like the name I'm sure the repaints are coming .
Eric:
That's the dumbest name for a forklift Transformer I've ever heard. It's not that hard to call him Scrapper instead. Dirt Boss sounds like a monster truck or a construction vehicle, but NOT a forklift.
jerky123:
Red repaint=Movie Game Scrapper
Orange repaint=Spoons the 2nd
SmokescreenGT:
Weird name for a forklift, but I can live with it I suppose.
DpoW:
Who's naming these things? Sounds like a case of the lame American translation for the cool Japanese name...
RedAlert Rescue:
Daftest name for a Transformer since they made a vehicle with no roof and called it Hardtop.

I'd have thought that The Cybertron Dirt Boss toy would have warranted a repaint sometime - and that would have kept the name in use.

They could have made some mini-con repaints and used the name on one of them.

I think Liftor would have been a lot more exceptable if they ever repaint the mold I hope they change the name and keep it changed.

Um... duh? Did anyone seriously think that this was going to be part of Devastator?

No, probably just a case of Hasbro using a name that they already have sitting around the office.
blackout501st:
im going along with vangilus. his name is spoons the 2nd.
LXL_Guy:
I'll probably pick this up since a fork lift seems so absurd in my mind.

Yeah, I guess Takara would call this one something cool such as "Inch Up".

Of course, for the movie line, they appear to be obliged to follow Hasbro's character names.
Stormcrow:
Ill be skipping these scouts. They do nothing for me.
Beastbot X:
They should have called him Cheetor. Would've made about as much sense.
Nerdicon:
He changed his name to stay out of the family business. We're on to you spoons the second!
soundwave34:
I want to get Dirt Boss, I've waited for a fork-lift Transformer.

Me too. I'll probaly call him Liftor instead of Dirt Boss. Yes, that means I'll be getting him.
underwear-ninja:
I'll call him Spoons The Second, too. The name has really grown on me D: Dirt Boss is a cool name, but not for a fork lift :x A forklift is like... the least Dirt Bossiest vehicle outside of a boat or plane. Should call it like... Fork Boss or Box Boss?
Feralstorm:
C'mon folks, he can move dirt all over the place! - as long as it's loaded on to a wooden pallet first.

this is my fav, for the fact i wished they made a Scrapper. but the motorcycle and the other ones are nice
SMOG:
Okay... so far in this line we have a delivery truck called "Rollbar", despite having no rollbars or anything to do with rollbars...

And now a forklift called "Dirt Boss", despite having nothing to do with dirt (though possibly something to do with bossing).

Following this logic, I anticipate the patrol boat Scout figure will go by the name of "Backstreet".

Stupid Hasbro...

I DO want to see scans of the back of the card, though.
Maybe there's a fluff text reason for the name?
Laser_Optimus:
Dirt Boss huh? Well, at least they didn't call him 'Inch Up'... yeah, I said it, as absurd as Hasbro's 'slap generic name on character to keep TM' stuff can get... it's never as absurd as some of the Japanese names Takara dishes out onto their toys.

Honestly though... I don't waste time worrying about what a toy is called (except when I'm giving out b-day and Christmas lists to family), because once I buy the guy I'll call him whatever I want to.

Have to say that I'm really liking the scouts in this line. Really good figures though I'll probably only be getting Knock Out, Dead End and Dirt Boss of the five we've seen at this point... Rollbar does nothing for me and I'll need better images of the unnamed boat before I decide if he's a potential purchase or not. Of course, this is really funny considering that I've never been a big fan of scouts and only have a handful that I've kept. These are actually interesting to me.

I completely agree. And the bike is called Knock Out.
shocky the spy:
Yay!, now i finally know what to call my little guy!
MnemonicSyntax:
I'm calling him the Guidonator, as in, Guido from Cars.
