Thanks to chenkofs of Actoys.net for posting the first images of a Transformers Movie Evac repaint. The original poster indicates it will likely be released in the Revenge of the Fallen toy line. The Evac toy uses the Transformers Movie Blackout mold with a retooled head. Check out the images by clicking the thumbnail.

Movie Whirl: "Wreck and Rule!"

Actually a pretty refreshing repaint all things considered. Surprised blackout did'nt get more than a premium repaint and the evac retool anyway.

There's the Legends class Desert Blackout, and the Lawsons Version as well that is a bit different from the Premium.

I'd have quite liked a Desert Blackout in the Voyager scale that is a suitable color scheme for the mold. and ties in well with the Military theme that some of the toys have.

I didn't really see whirl when I looked at that as the yellow distracted me from thinking of Whirl - I suppose it looks a bit like Rotorstorm as well.

Incidently if you go back a few pages that vehicle mode picture shows off the gap that allows the cape to drape in robot mode - I'm sure that loads of people are unaware of that and I read someone mention it yesterday and I got to thinking I wonder how many people didn't know the Blackout derived molds could do that.
Osaru Sensei:
PRO:
  • I've always wanted a chopper Tf since my Rotorstorm broke down
  • I never got the original Blackout

CON:
  • I never got the original Blackout
  • My friend LOC Soundwave told me that Blackout is "A pain to Transform" ...Or something like that...

Yep. The damn automorph gimmick usually makes me feel like I'm going to snap his legs off. I transformed him once & never went back.
Master Sing:
Hmmm... I told myself I wasn't going to be buying any movie figures this time around...

I may have to swoop on this one though...
Optimus747:
Looks cool, I especially like the "Ovelon" reference (I was trying to figure out what those numbers/letters meant, never thought to check it upside-down). Don't know if I'll buy one of these, though, unless it's an exclusive. I want to stick to new mold stuff for ROTF.

1) It matches the colors of the Navy Helicopters on the John C Stennis in the ROTF movie.
2) It's supposed to look like Soundwave more
3) It's supposed to look like RID's ROTOR
4) It's supposed to look like The Gobot 'Flip Top'
5) Someone at Hasbro just likes Blue Helicopters ?

I hope the existance of an Evac repaint means there's a slightly increased chance of two things EVAC & Incinerator as a Legends toys and Springer as a Voyager.
I'm guessing mostly (1), with possible touches of (4) and (5), but I'll also add:

. 6) The colors match the original Ovelon Gazette toy more than G1 Whirl.

Do want. All three of those.
Hot_Lap:
this one looks ok i might just pick him up. but i still love the first one! it was an awesome repaint! hince my sig.
Rikotron:
That is straight away a must-have!

Looks like a Gundam crossover!
Detour:
Wow, I'm just astonished at how many people don't even bother reading the threads before commenting.

Regardless, Whirl is awesome and since I skipped all the redecos/retools of Blackout since his original release, I will get him.
And he shall go with my Classics Autobots.
I especially like how in copter mode he's a realistic blue helicopter, but in robot mode all the powder blue suddenly gets revealed for G1 bot-mode accuracy.
Blackout:
I'll pass...

How many repaints are we gonna get from just this mould alone?! PASS!! Once is enough for me. Bought Blackout wont be getting this. Aweful. Bring on Movie-verse TF: ROTF Springer!! Ill bite for that any day.

Springer would be a repaint of Movie 1's Incinerator.

If you squint, that says "OVELON". A Dorvack nod? It would make even more sense for him to be named Whirl if the number's not a big coincidence.
Wow. Talk about your obscure reference.

Just for that alone, I might bite. I also liked Evac a lot. (mostly due to Evac being 'in development' back in Botcon 07's Hasbro Tour)
