TFW2005 Boards Member SarahMobius told us that there was a preview of New York Toy Fair 2011 showing Transformers: Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime and Bumblebee 3D Robo Power Cine-Masks.
Take a look at the video here : Today Show – Parenting.
For those who read our Nuremberg Toy Fair 2011 article may have seen the info regarding two masks.
Translated from German using Google Translator, the official description is as follows…
“With the Transformers masks kids can become Bumblebee or Optimus Prime. The movable visor enables the vision modes “Normal” and “Fight”. The masks have individually adjustable fit.”
SarahMobius’ finding clearly explained what this “visor” is all about. It’s Transformers Movie Designed 3D Glasses to enjoy the movie in 3D (RealD).
You will also receive a pair of Anaglyph 3D glasses (Red/Blue 3D) with a poster as a free give-away.
Take your memory to 10-05-2010. We now know what “Robo Power” is about, completing the mystery of “Cyberverse“, “Mechtech” and “Robo Power” (Legends Class Playsets, Movie 3 Gimmick and 3D Glasses respectively).
Oh, in case you are wondering whether you can eat popcorn and drink soda in the theater wearing a Cine-Mask? Yes, you can… they are designed specifically that way.
Take a moment to imagine your local theater.

I've seen 'em at Target, Walmart, and Kmart the past few days for roughly $9.99. I'm gonna get a pair and take my 4 year old ex stepson (very long messed up story) to see the movie in 3d. Just wonder which one I'll wear since I'm gonna let him pick first.

Ha, I can see why you think that. But I work in cinema and everyone seems to think the extra money is for the glasses only. And I can truthfully tell you it's just not the glasses, but for the 3D technology and equipment we have to use and maintain. When you work with the 3D technology and the projections, there is a lot of extra stuff to deal with. I'm not saying that's a good reason, but I'm just saying the extra money you have to dish out isn't just for a piece of plastic.

Will they sell this at the movie theater or at any retailer, Target, Walmart, etc..?? For sure I'ma buy one

It hasn't so far, I've been to several 3D movies, each time they issue you a "new" pair of glasses, even if you tell them you have their own.. Just a gimmick to get the extra $$$.
I'm a TF geek enough to proudly wear my Prime 3D mask thru the entire movie
Soundwave one? Now how you gonna watch 3D with only 1 eye socket??
jetfire prime
Those things look ridiculous…..I might have to get one

July 01, 2011.. that's when we gonna use it!!

In elementary, I used to beg my mom for glasses because my best friend wore them. Haha.
anikenvader
soo, tell me, imax too, correct?

For $10, I'll probably get me the Prime one. It's just too bad having it won't cut the extra cost for a 3D ticket.
Nerd, and proud of it, lol. Been wearing glasses since the second grade.
Primez
I'm gonna get this and swap the lenses with the voice changer heads heheh.
VAwitch
Hmm – $10?? Considering how many movies are going 3D in genres I like, may be worth it.
Especially since my local theater does a s**** job cleaning the reusable 3D glasses.
dorfsquest
That's kinda silly… I might wear one of those to the midnight premier, but that's only if I can convince my girlfriend to wear one also… lol
Grimwing
Bringing your own glasses does'nt reduce the ticket price I've heard. But I guess its more hygienic and personal to do so.
I still have not tried 3D cinema.
Barricade or Soundwave mask next please.
Deceptigtar
come on, where is the megatron and ss masks? i dont want a theatre of just primes and bb's.
i would get a con set if they had one.
DecepticonSpike
If I remember to wear my contacts with it, I'd buy the Prime one in a second!
Mega-con
I'm 33. You should be fine.
Hasbro will make it up in other lines. They'll get your stack one way or another.
But only use that for this occassion, no roaming around high schools saying this.
Nerd.
Um… You're a kid. No one is going to judge you- they're meant for you.
