Samus_Ng:
Malaysian online retailer XL-Shop has not only listed these in stock, but also gave us our very first look of the packaging of some of these figures. Also seen here are the Robo-Q Bumblebee and Optimus Prime figures.

Tommybg2003:
i need more money lol
S250:
damn!I want Robo-Q!!!!
[Wing_Saber-X]:
So.. basically they are almost similar to the Hasbro release, except for the ROTF Japanese Sticker and Instructions sheet in nihon-go?!
Fago:

Very nice pics!!! I think we had not seen the Robo-Q in package before. I'm so looking forward to my BB. It's already in the mail

At first sight I thought Takara Megs was carrying better paint applications than the Hasbro one, but no, it's the same. I'll wait for the Premium.
LightningZERO:
The stickers from first movie are better

LMAO. I want a Robo Q!

Correction : A LOTS of money
diablien:
Thanks SO much for posting these!!!! Breakaway is obviously the darker version, but what about sideways?

It bums me out that Takara either A: doesn't want to make new packaging for this or B: is not allowed to since it's a property that Hasbro seems to have different rules for
ekocher:
i found the difference!!!!! prime has a tiny dif color change in the chest inbetween the windows theirs is grey ours is red

Well it's much more for brand recognition than anything else. This toyline is based on a movie that will be out worldwide, unlike a particular TV series airing in a certain region. So it would make better sense to have the packaging be universal.

Well, the Takara version looks a bit better with that. But too minor of a change
soundwaveCA:
Would be interesting to see the Takara and Hasbro leader Primes side by side but I'm thinking the differences are negligible. I really want a Takara premium version again with the nice chrome like with the first movie, that I would buy no question
GTR-prime0088:
and rubber tires as well
Dran0n:
Awesome! Still haven't gotten ROTF myself, but I'll get some later this month.
buzzsaw84:
What is Robo-Q? Is it a bit charge remote control transformer?
Powersa:
Same looks so far.
AnimatedFan:
...wow. So they're basically Hasbro figures with a Takara sticker slapped on, and aside from a change in color tone...they're exactly the same thing?

Hah. Talk about getting hosed. I'd have thought Takara would've at least given Prime his movie accurate coloring and missing paint apps. Or chrome at least.

I'm...stunned. Absolutely stunned.

Yeap. And it has limited AI, can dodge obstacles and play 'soccer'

The bits that flip up next to the smokestacks is painted silver and on the Hasbro version they are painted red.

We'll have to wait for the Takara's ROTF version of the MA-21 Prime, which I'm sure is coming, to see him chromed out.

No, that's incorrect. You're basing it on the prototype on the back of the box. Hasbro's Optimus Prime does indeed have those bits painted silver.

The only difference I can see is the grey piece under the neck, as mentioned, that is red on the domestic release. Even though it's minor, it does make it look a little better.

I am surprised that Ironhide remained grey; it would've been all sorts of win if he were his proper black.

On an unrelated note, is the Sideways pictured truly the dark version? It's hard to tell from the pic.
RHALX:
Yeah, it looks a bit better with the grey chest, but at the same time they kept the red neck, it makes it look really werid...
RedAlert Rescue:
What speech sample do the leaders have - same as American with "I am Optimus prime" or same as Europe just "Optimus Prime"?
chuckcjc:
Speech is the same as the American Release "I am Optimus Prime" I tried it yesterday at Yodabashi Camera.
chuckcjc:
BTW, is Japanese Movie 2 Sideways any different than the U.S. release?

I bought the U.S. release on Friday, and am now in Japan. I didn't bring my Sideways to compare, but I don't see any difference.
Bumblethumper:
I'm curious to see what Takara'll do with Human Alliance.

I'd love to see them with rubber tires and diecast metal.

Apparently it was more of a running change, since some people have scored darker, previously assumed "TakaraTomy version" in the US.
(I could be wrong though, hope someone can confirm )
