Thanks to an anonymous 4chan poster for the first look at the new Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime Leader Class Mold. Click the thumbnail to check it out.

BIO: "With the destruction of MEGATRON, OPTIMUS PRIME thought he was finally, after millions of years, at peace. Little did he know that the escape of STARSCREAM would draw dozens of new DECEPTICONS to Earth. The desire that burns brightest in his Spark is that the war will soon end. He is determined to see that end come, and so he works with his human comrades and the other AUTOBOTS to hunt the DECEPTICONS that have come to Earth, and destroy them, one by one."

What's with the flames? j/k

Seriously, that looks like a pretty nice update of the figure.

Exactly. Way to step up your game Hasbro.
Creaky:
Do. Want.
Neo-Bombshell:
This is the first great news of this year! I can't believe how they improve this character.

The way the elbows look is almost perfewct compared with the CGI model. The only thing I don't likve very much are the way those blue panels look in the back.

Anyway this is a must have to my collection. I wonder if he combiens with Jetfire.

Hey, no need to attack my posing capabilities. If you like the original mold that much, hey whatever. I personally find him to be a not too distant cousin to powermaster prime. We just have to agree to disagree.

I still may get this version and actually keep him this time.

Makes his legs look tiny.

and the actuall pic on the box doesn't really do him justice.
Oh ok thanks, remind me to stop trying to be nice.
KING KONVOY:
we're gonna get a new prime for every movie. i gonna have a shelf of only movie primes. i like. i'd really like to comparison pictures

I think this new Prime is a definite improvement. I just find it weird that people are being down on the fire Leader class toy. Sure it wasn't very accurate, but it was still a great toy.

Sorry if I offended you. It wasn't my intention.

He actually had those in the movie, although they didn't stick up as high, weren't as large, and didn't have half a smokestack stuck to the top of them

No Jetfire combo?

If this picture is showing the box art of the figure you'd think we would see the option that it combines with Jetfire I don't see it, unless its very small and in the corner somewhere not shown.
optimus910:
It's Official. I'm sold and will buy this right when the toys come out!!!
Veloxiraptor:
You can more or less tell how the transformation's going to go, though I'm still fuzzy on how exactly the rear wheels and fenders move.

So he'll have a bigass backpack, but at least it will be split in half to make "wings".
Fort Max:
Thanks for those comparison photos guys, I gotta say, the thought that really sticks out in my mind looking at those is that the Mk I figure looks like it came out in the eighties and I loved that toy when I got it, the engineering really impressed me. The difference between the Mk I and the new Mk II is like that between G1 Prime and Masterpiece Prime before it in my opinion.

If there's a Mk III in 2011 then god only knows how good that will be.

Regarding Jetfire, I really doubt this will combine, it'd just fall over from having the weight of a whole other Leader class toy added to it. Backpack bots should always be smaller otherwise it just doesn't work.
dark69:
nice! i will get him

How many combining Primes showed the feature on the back of their box?
and I'm talking about the first release of a figure.
Jazz1979:
This OP leader class figure is off the hook!
I wanted to skip the TF2 leader class version since i already own my TF1 leader class OP.
But looking at this new version with a mold and transformation level that looks much more accurate to the CGI design used in the movie, i guess i have no choice but to save more money for this one!
Takara_destron:
Oooh thats very nice. I may get a ROTF Prime after all.
PredaconVukasin:
It makes me wonder with as amazing as this one is, I wonder if I sould wait till movie 3, to get figures again....
Anti Spark:
Now Im happy I didn't buy any Movie Primes.

It could be on the side of the box, or the bottom, somewhere....

Typically they show the Prime + some other dude combination on the back of the packaging for the other dude. It was this way in other Transformers toylines... though admittedly those dudes who combined with Prime were always released sometime after Prime was.
Cory Bauer:
If Hasbro's smart, they'll stagger the release of characters like The Fallen and combining Jetfire until later in the year, so the molds and packaging aren't on the shelves a month before the film ruining all of the surprises.

It would be great, but considering how much robot footage was shown on talkshows and in commercials and promo spots or MTV awards, etc. I doubt anything will be a secret

There will the Prime Time Toast and Jetfire Jelly combining Lunchables on the shelves well before.
Shin Densetsu:
Leader Prime is still a great figure from the 2007 movie line, even if this one is better in many respects. I would not be surprised if this new one has higher quality and is a better figure overall, but though I will buy this one, it does not mean I will sell off my Premium Prime. Both are good representations of the engineering practices of their time. It's like G1 Prime, just because you have the MP version doesn't mean you have to sell off the vintage G1. I can appreciate both for what they are, and I highly anticipate the release of this new TF2 ROTF Leader Prime. 2 Swords? More movie accurate? A more balanced robot mode? HELL YEAH! If this is painted with metallic silver paint on the silver parts right off the bat, there is no need for a Premium repaint later down the line. Nor do I care for chrome. This looks so good that I probably won't want to buy a repaint of it later on, unless there is significant retooling and new weaponry/accessories.

Bravo Hasbro, now THIS figure is what I'm talking about. Now if Starscream is redone in the same fashion.................!
ZeroMayhem:
A Prime with two swords needs a Bonecrusher with two heads

Awesome looking figure, can't wait to score one!

It's possible they are trying to keep the suspense up/ spoilers down. Assuming it combines, it'll probably be shown on Jetfire's packaging instead of Prime's.

Impressive they were able to make such a big change between past and present Movie Prime toys.
Starscreamer95:
Two Swords? Awesome! Now I'm glad I didnt grab TF1's Prime, now I can this bad boy! Looks heaps better than the original if you ask me.
Inciteful:
Definate win and bought on May 29th. Now wait, we get big smokestacks on this Prime but couldn't have the tall stacks on the 25th Prime?

25th/G1 and MP Prime had chromed stacks. Chromed (vacuum-metalized) plastic is brittle and very sharp when broken.
G1Wheeljack:
I'll be pickign this guy up for sure, now we just need pics of him combines with the normal sized Movie Jetfire.
samtastic:

Holy Crapoly does that look great! Looks like they're actually getting the real transformation from the movie -- at least closer. This is fantabulous!!
Bass X0:
Not interested. I already own this character in these colors at Leader size.

Will wait for the repaint.
LXL_Guy:
Ah...now this Prime I like. I think I'll pick up this movie prime since I didn't pick up the previous ones.
Omegaplex:
THIS JUST IN FOR THE MOVIE 3 LEADER CLASS PRIME:
The reacquired X-1000 "intelligence" chips will be used to provide lifelike movement and higher level thinking skills!

Note: Please do not place leader prime and megatron on same shelf...

True. But I was referring to the safety standards as the reason for the short stacks. Realizing that the MK I (Movie 2007) Prime had rubber stacks. I just wish they could have adopted that for the MP and G1 Primes for both safety and qualitly concerns.
Hikuro:
Very cool, practically a new mold with the same end result. I'll think about it since it's still some time before the movie comes out.
yami4ct:
Wow. I love the look of this thing. I'm really impressed with the smokestacks. Those always get gimmped, even the 1st movie toy had very flat and square looking stacks. These look like real smokestacks. The swords are really cool as well. I wasn't going to buy any RotF toys, but I'm at least going to get a couple now. The one thing that's kind of disappointing is he seems to lack a blaster. I hope they include an optional accessory you can clip on in place of the swords, but I doubt it.
optimusprimadana:
very nice
Ktulu:
Even having the original one I'm totally down for this version, looking quite good
Megatronwp38:
huge improvement on ab already fantastic figure. I will have two.a
flywheels:
I'd like to see some side by side comparison pics w/ the first movie leader toy. I know I'll buy this one, but right now I can't tell a whole lot of differences (NFL Playoff football has me distracted)
Bumblejazz:
One of the best looking toys I've ever seen. Amazing. I can't wait to see some out of package photos.
DeceptiKreep:
Looks very cool! I better start saving up now! ;D
Mega-con:
Gross. Eeeew!

Excuse, me. I just burped my lunch.

But, holy smokes, this toy looks awesome!
shin03:
Man! that beats the breaks off the old mold! Can't wait to get my hands on it.

cheetorBWORG:
Need a Supreme Class Jetfire with this to make the combination. It just HAS TO be made.
Red Frenzy:
It's sure is more movie accurate, not diggin' those hip wheels though. I still like the first movie Prime figure better but I'll reserve judgment until there are more pics of him.
muffinhunter:
I kind of hope this line doesn't get TOO cool, I was planning on sticking with Animated only with a possible side of movie Devestator if the toy was cool enough. Now I guess I'll have a Prime too.
SMOG:
I don't know if anyone has noticed this yet... but has anyone noticed yet that his "sword" on his right arm actually appears to be an AXE!! It looks different than the left one.

MTMTE reference, baby! Woot!

I like this. I'm an avowed critic of the Bayformer aesthetic, but this looks like it's going to be a REALLY nice Prime. Hope it's as good as it appears to be!
