From what I read in his bio, ROTF Mindwipe has the power to hypnotize others. That being said (and given his name), he may very well have other psychic abilities such as telepathy has well as projecting visions and hallucinations onto others.

It's something Hasbro's trying for the NEST line, I personally think it works pretty well since the bios are setting up battles between characters rather than simply telling you who the guys are and why they're awesome. Thanks to the Mindwipe bio, I've now got an image of a cornered Optimus squaring off against a legion of mind controlled friends.

Mindwipe is just win. I just love the idea of a Stealth-bomber hypnotist. Defender Optimus Prime, however...well, if I get it as a gift, I know how I'm going to make Movie Ultra Magnus, but otherwise it's $20 I'm spending elsewhere.
I find it interesting that if Optimus is only imune to Mindwipe because of the Matrix, why doesn't Mindwipe simply brainwash all the Decepticons so that he's the leader and Megatron is his slave?

Mindwipe sounds/looks like an intimidating figure. Not one to duel one-on-one with the likes of Optimus Prime, but to have a number of hypnotized minions to fight for him, that's what makes him such a dangerous character.
Will definitely be a must-have for me.

About Defender Prime, he does remind me of nightwatch prime and like the idea of the cannons on the back for air defense, but hasbro is killing this mold..
