DISCUSSION: (Jump To This Thread On The Boards)
AnimatedFan:
I want it, badly. Unfortunately, the common sense portion of my mind is saying "wait for clearance..." and so I shall. No reason for that thing to be $100.00
Synthetic Breed:
Indestructible minus the rail gun LOL
qwerty:
mod on devastator's balls...lol

btw, the toy looks like crap and not worth the $100...i rather use $100 on Prime + Jetfire
Liege Prime:
I'm not too much of a stickler about paint apps. Leader Prime doesn't bother me where a lot of people think he's lacking. But man, this guy needs some paint aps. Honestly Hasbro, for that price everyone deserves it. Why does Hasbro treat paint like its made of gold?
Synthetic Breed:
Absolute crap unless you're under 10 years old.
TheIncredibleHulk:
I want that thing!
Space Bridge 5:
I have a problem with the scale of the vehicles... mixmaster in my opinion should be smaller than longhaul or the bulldozer <-- those two should be as big as the arm pieces in vehicle mode... oh well... thats transformers for you... i love em anyway
biigdady69:
"Fisher Price Devastator". Couldn't have said it better, myself. What a God awful piece of garbage. A simplistic, undetailed, poorly made, hunk of unnecessarily expensive plastic that will occupy WAYYY too much shelf space for WAYYY too long. YUCK!

Legends Devi F T M F W. That is all.

Oh. One more thing. Anyone that had a hand in designing this is going to Hell for allowing this travisty of a "Transformer" to be spawned.
Nightwing24:
this thing now impresses me even less he's too short, the alt modes have no detail and no features and he is way too simple looking at first I thought I would pay $50 for This but now it's a max of $30. For no bot modes I expected lots of details and rubber treads not even that... thanks for the review Frenzy_Rumble but even your good review can't save this pos.
fastballspecial:
Looks pretty damn terrible to me. I doubt I'll be buying any Constructicons besides Long Haul.
scourge88:
It looks decent, but is way overpriced. Will wait until it goes down in price.
blackout501st:
thats an awesome sound clip, and i love the vortex mouth gimmick. my only real complaints are the crappy looking vehicle modes and the lack of paint. this dude will be staying in robot mode.
imranbecks:
Thats one big hunk of PLASTIC!!!!

Love the Devastator head though... Looks fairly easy to transform.. Would love to see all the constructicons that form Devastator together in their alt mode.. They wld be all in scale i suppose.. Scavenger being the biggest..

And hey, there's no Decepticon logo on Mixmaster's cement mixer!!!! And the reviewer had problems transforming Voyager Mixmaster!!! Wth... Its by far to me one of the easiest ROTF toys to transform..

Anyways, I don't think Devastator is worth the price tag of $100+.. It probably cost a lot due to its size..

Tempting, but I'd rather get the EZ-Collection Devastator for now..
Oracle_Aesir:
I'll get this when it's either cheaper or on a deal like "Buy Devastator and get a Deluxe toy free" or something

so that's probably be a few months
Aptom:
itll be half price by xmas.
Sportimus:
Even if it were on clearance, I would not buy that pile of plastic crap. NONE of the vehicles are anywhere near to scale to one another. Mixmaster is HUGE while Long Haul is tiny. Not-Demolisher is not bigger than High-Tower. Even if he was, he isn't that much bigger. Not even Scrapper and Rampage are to correct scale. Yuck. The gross lack of detail and paint apps makes this thing a rip-off.

The only good things about that thing are the sound clips, lights, and that big mouth it has.

Man, I said this before, I wish I had gotten the Wal-Mart Classics Devastator set when that was out just a few years ago...

Good review though, thanks.
Xaxis:
Firstly, thanks frenzy_rumble for the informative review.

I must say though, I'm not impressed by this figure. Way overpriced for lacking so much detail and basically being six toy construction vehicles that connect to each other. The fact that they have a Legends Class version that includes robot modes detracts even more from this approach. For the price, they should have gone the extra mile and just made the Voyager class toys combine.
caitlindevi:
Ok, so really simple transformations...more basic than FABs.
Less details than the regular figures
less paint applications than the regular figures
Has a 'fisher price feel'

I'm failing to see where this is worth $100

If this had been sold as a Leader, voyager and 4 deluxes it would have been about the same price and each part would have been better.

Plus the differences between the character in the movie and the toy is staggering.

For starters wheres red the long loader????

Lame figure, Probably the worst product Hasbro has made for the film. Compare it to leader prime and you wouldn't think it was from the same brand, let alone the same product team.

don't be silly, they'll need to keep it full price til after xmas just to make the movie back they wasted on the production on this thing.

This piece of crap probably just single handedly killed off the supreme size class
JacobPGalvatron:
I won't get it.
My brother will.
I dunno where he'll get the money, but...

MOre like 'buy a legends and get a devestator free'

Thats the class its in scale with and thats the class it shares its detail level with
Tman978:
$100 ............man.
Livingdeaddan:
I don`t think the person that wrote the bio, saw the movie!

...it's not a Supreme Class figure! Geez people.
It's an Ultimate Class size figure, and price point, like Ultimate Bumblebee.
However, in ROTF, Devastator is clearly listed as a Combiner Class figure.

Legends: $4.99
Scout: $7.99
Deluxe: $12.99
Voyager: $22.99
Leader: $44.99
Supreme: $49.99 (though the price will climb now.)
Ultimate: $99.99

Supreme and Ultimate are not the same size class, at all. Not even the same amount of lights, sounds, and gimmicks.

Ultimate may hit the chopping block, but not Supreme. Not because of this fiasco. Supreme might die out due to Universe Unicron not selling worth a damn. That's about it.

And even though Devastator is listed as Combiner Class, he's still an Ultimate Class figure in terms of size, complexity, and special effects.
GAUGE0001:
Great review, great photos.....and for what? *sigh* I'm so sorry poor F_R had to waste soooo much time and cash on such a waste of Plastic

I will still buy it because it's DEVASTATOR and I like how the Vortex feature works, but....$100.00 is waaaaay too much for this...this...this, THING.
Nemesis Liger:
Finally a review of this guy. Thank ya much, f_r.

While Devy isn't on the top of my buy list I would like to get my hands on him someday. I just have an urge to torment Legends and Robot Heroes figures with this guy. Plus, I like a sturdy figure, and the simple vehicle transformations don't really bother me anyway. Especially so since I plan to mostly keep him in gestalt mode.

On a random note, I'm very much tempted to attach a vaccuum hose to the back of Mixmaster when he's on Devastator.
harrismonkey:
Maybe, just maybe I'll like it by the time Frenzy_Rumble is done with it. I look forward to seeing just what he does with it.

But as hasbro product- wow this thing sucks.
Yigal:
That Mixmaster won't shut up :

I'll wait a month or 2. Than the prizes drop again, like the last time...
Z.U.D.O.N:
I've seen your video review, and I'm pretty impressed with the size of this giant! But yeah, serious lack of paint apps is a big problem there, as well as the noisy Mixmaster a.k.a. Devastator's head. Goodness me, the sounds really get annoying. ><" I understand the pain you go through.

Posability is pretty good for this Hulk. But yeah, he's so heavy it's not wise giving him very menacing poses.. Aside from that, holy sh*t at the humongous sizes of Demolisher, Hightower, Scrapper and Mixmaster!

I am NOT gonna buy this figure because it's gonna cost me way too much. (500 Malaysian ringgits) But I'm quite impressed with this figure. Thanks a lot for the review, frenzy_rumble!
shifty02:
Great review! I'm almost tempted to pick him up now.
Tenebrouser:
There's no way that's worth $100. What a rip-off.
Pikatron:
Thanks for the review! I'll definitely pick up this guy if and when I can find him for $50-$60 USD.
alien:
Kicking my ass!!!
Harbinger:
that has taken me from a "do not want" standpoint, to a "maybe if on sale" standpoint. i think i just really like the vortex action feature.
Haven't a Clue:
You guys shouldn't moan too much about price. We have to pay $100 in New Zealand too

... for Leader class.
SentinelPrime:
Wow...once posed by a fan, I like it alot more than I thought, but mainly because of the size. F_R gives us some nice images here, though, and the figure does look alot better than the Hasbro photos.

I CANNOT wait to get my hands on this and bash it...there's potential here. I wonder if any transforming ROTF constructicons can be substituted?

Gah

Thanks FR!
Shizuka:
I thought the toy would be good. I'll get it.
::ONE:::
Good review and pics.

$100? ... For that price, each piece should be transforming veh/robots also.

What-ever....its big and expensive and it ain't worth the money they want for it.

If they wanted to keep supreme alive all they needed to do is release TF:A Omega Supreme
Takara_destron:
Great review, especially if it's your first one!
You've sold me on this figure (once its been reduced of course)
Kaijumaster:
I want a bunch of vehicles to combine into a big robot I'll go buy a Megazord. Hasbro's excuse of being unable to balance 3 modes is bologna in my opinion given the wealth of other constructicons I have sitting on my shelf right this moment. and the reviewer couldn't have said it better. "Bricks of Plastic" Hasbro really should be ashamed of the downright laziness of this release.
Johnator:
Man that is a TERRIBLE toy.
The_Black_Sheep:
As you pointed out in the vid, One thing that bugs me is how the paint apps/detail in the transforming Voyager Demolisher, Deluxe Rampage etc. are just so much nicer when compared to the ones used in this Devastator set.

But then again, we know Hasbro like to save a bit of money whenever they can... so...
anemis:
excellent review... we finally see this bad boy in a new angle.....

To be fair, it's a good toy. I can definately see kids having fun with this. It's just a pisspoor Transformers toy.

kids could well like this guy the transformation could be enjoyable, its just far from a beautiful toy.

edit:the transformation is quite nice, i can see a 5 year old enjoying this toy way more than the difficult to transform and more fragile delux figures.

Lucky.

I'm really changing my mind about him, but I'm going to wait for the obvious clearance. Nobody in my area will buy that thing for $100. Everything over $20 here is shelfwarming due to the economic downturn. I can only imagine how hard Devastator will shelfwarm.
devstar37:
but what about the wrecking "BALLS"
Scantron:
Good review. This looks like a toy that kids would really enjoy but, obviously, not one that collectors are going to be fond of.

Originally, I was looking forward to this one, but with each set of pictures my enthusiasm for it cools off a little. I definitely can't see paying more than the Supreme price point ($50 - $60) for it, so I'll wait until it goes on sale/clearance.
Chaos Prime:
Nice review. I'm still not sure if I want to pick this guy up. His vehicle modes are so mis-proportioned.
