Ratchet2007:
Images no worky
frenzy_rumble:
they are showing up for me. I attached them all like I normally do. there should be 16 or so.
Mechafire:
Nope. Not seeing anything.

Pics Please?
Hiraga:
Yeah, I can't see anything.
ElekTriC:
just chill.. maybe there's something wrong with the board..
frenzy_rumble:
no idea what happened, re-attaching them now. should work. I blame the matrix.

Pros:
- he's a monster, huge! about 13 ½ inches when hunched over
- great sound chip (in mixmaster) he says a few lines of text and sounds while in Devastator mode...the voice clips are random, same one might sound off several times in a row, but still, very extensive. the sound chip/lights are all in Mixmaster. Removing him and TFing him into his cement mixer triggers the "transform" sound effect. While in truck mode, mixmaster makes a few random machine type noises. all seem to have the vacuum / vortex noise and then....
1) an evil laugh
2) "destroy"
3) I am... Decepticon!! (WTF is that?)
4) Devastator, Destroy!
5) yeah ahaha autobots (I think)
6) I am....Devastator (odd that's similar to #3)
7) Devastator, Destroy Autobots! - solid. He's about 7 to 8 pounds
- ratcheting shoulder joints
- ratcheting elbow joints
- ratcheting hips
- some articulation in "fingers"
- quite movie accurate
Cons:
- really weak vehicle modes (pretty much blocks of plastic)
- little to no paint apps (hightower is solid yellow)
- sorta "back heavy" (mixmaster is heavy
- hightower arm is very blocky looking. they couldv'e made it a little smaller and it would have balanced better with the other arm (scrapper)
- Demolisher is called Scavenger on the instructions
- Price is too high, should be closer to 50-60 USD in my opinion
- Knees are on hinge joints and pretty much locked where they are in order to support the weight
- Ankles are also on hinges, and render useless because of all the weight on him
- Walking on all 4s is going to require some heavy modding
- Demolisher looks like a nike shoebox with treads on it
- noice trigger on mixmaster is too sensitive while in truck mode.
All in all, I think this guy's great. he'd make an AWESOME centerpiece to any movie fan's collection, a must have. I see huuuuge potential for this guy getting lots of repaint and kit bashing action, and wish I didn't have to sleep so I can get to that. |
AlphaOmegaBlurr:
Still no worky.
power3921:
I still dont see it?
frenzy_rumble:
no idea. something's wrong with the board.
I"ve uploaded probably 100 threads the same exact way I am doing this thread. blame the board.
Hiraga:
NOW I see it. Looks great.
NGW:
Glad that the lack of bot modes is movie accurate, but that isn't enough to save the figure for me.
If he gets (rather, WHEN he gets) heavily discounted, I'll look into picking him up. Otherwise only way I'd bother getting him is if someone got him for me (hey, you know my birthday is coming in a week guys...guys?).
Toxicon:
They're up. Damn, he's a beast!
I'll definitely be getting him!
On clearance.
amd098:
mmm yea, i think ill pass
mixmaster just sits there as a head, plus the size is a little small, for $100, he should be taller than unicron, who was $50-60
benzo:
great review and pics! still not getting it though
ElekTriC:
looks big.. i think he would be nice... but the price in euros will be sick. some guy said he would be around 150/200 euros.. thats just sick!
and then you guys complain about 100 :/
AlphaOmegaBlurr:
Wow. He needs balls.
Ratchet2007:
Now the waiting for the vid review begins !
Lol

This. You are working on them, F_R, right?
Mechafire:
Again, is it possible for him to be on all fours at all?
SoundMaster:
Now I see pictures.
And in other news, I like what I see!
jazz4ever:
i...i...actually kinda want it
Mechafire:
Yeah, he does look pretty beastly...
Deceptigtar:
Wish there was more detailing and could be on all 4s. Something about the waist and legs are off. Has no mid section and legs are too small should have had smaller arms and bulkier legs.
myhobby:
but... i don't have 100 extra $$$...

can we see him next to the fallen?
or some transformers not from the movie line?
Necrocom4:
ok just one question. and this will determine wether or not i buy this. im wondering if its possible to mount mixmaster alittle more forward to give him some kind of movie accurate neck. if it needs some modding im for it. even if it means getting rid of the electronics. im not digging the pug-like mashed-in head. its gotta have some kinda neck for me to justify it being somewhat accurate.
AlphaOmegaBlurr:
Frenzy, may I recommend that you use a pair of Newton balls for his testicles?
highball22:
Whats the purpose of the extra 2 hinges on neck of Devastator?
arcee3:
That's awesome. Here's hoping we see more individual Supreme Class robots, like a Demolishor. Imagine how awesome the robot mode could be on that baby.
Toxicon:
Awesome. Are there more parts of the vid to come?
JuicyNo:
Will definitely try to get him eventually.....just not for $100. There's just not enough to justify spending more than $50.
Hiraga:
Let me say, that was really good for your first video review! I'm a terrible speaker on video. (Check Hiraga08 on Youtube, I sent you a friend request)
yovnocrats:
After seeing the size of the vehicles and the detail on them I've decided that this is not only worth buying, but is worth the $100 price tag. I'm genuinely surprised, Hasbro.
Mechafire:
So wait, pieces have to be removed for him to combine? Do you have to re attach them, or do you just set them aside?
This may be a deal breaker...

sorta, but not really. his face points straight down if leaning forward. if there were a way to prop up the cement barrel and face, I could see it working.
Valkysas:
but it ends right when you put long haul and rampage onto scavenger.
I was liking what I was seeing. especially that mixmaster's cab comes off a bit, sparing devastator the embarassment of just having an entire backwards cement mixer as a head.
highball22:
Can those extra hinges lift up on the mixer part?
NGW:
Oh and in your video you keep mentioning the "naming problem" with Scavenger and Demolishor.
They're not the same character. Scavenger is the component for Devastator. Demolishor is the decepticon that NEST hunts in the start of the movie.
Actually, Demolishor's voyager figure isn't even the right color for the character. In the movie, he's more white with red accents than Scavenger which is the more red one.
Hound_Dawg:
Ok, I hate to ask this, I have kinda stayed away from alot of the information on the devestator toys. I searched a bit, but I didn't see a streight answer on this, so here is my question.
Is this the only version, outside of Legends, that will combine? The deluxe figures and voyagers, are they not ment to combine at all?
Ratchet2007:
Voyagers and Deluxes do not combine

Thanks, f_r! One more question, do you remove the vehicle parts when he's transforming, but then re attach them in robot mode? Or do you have to just set them aside?
Thanks.

Legends Class Constructicons: Have alternate modes, robot modes, and can combine
Deluxe and Voyager Class Constructicons: Have alternate modes and robot modes, do not combine (movie accurate)
Supreme/Combiner Class Constructicons: Have alternate modes and combine (movie accurate)
