Revenge of the Fallen Constructicon Devastator Released in the UK Devastator-Robot
The "biggest" Decepticon of all has weighed in - in the UK! The $100 Constructicon Devastator, who is guaranteed to devastate your savings along with any helpless Autobots in his way, has been released at UK catalogue chain Argos in their Argos Extra stores. He's also up on their website for the UK retail price of £100.

Keep up to date with the local Transformers sightings in your area on our Transformers Sightings board.

Their actual price point is $60. SO, they put the $100 price which blows peoples minds, but THEN it is put on sale for $60 and people jump all over it...
Just cause a few members here don't like it doesn't mean it's not going to sell. However not with A $100 price tag. Whither you like it or not.
I wouldnt buy it for $60 either... I would be HALF tempted if the toys each transformed to a robot mode. This is just horrible though. I hope the legends version comes out sometime soon.

If I were interested in this this might be exciting news... but I'm not so its not.

Bleh. I think I'll have to wait for the legends Devastator... and have Leader ROTF Prime stepping on him.
[Wing_Saber-X]:
Meh.... Too rich for my blood. I'm saving my $$ up.
sarnian1979:
Sod Bigpileo'crapistator, does anyone know when the next wave of deluxes is being released in the UK?
Dran0n:
Waiting 'till it's on sale.
AnnEEm:
Just incase no one's said this but: what, no wercking balls??

Lol, couldn't help it
transformerbot:
i think about $59.99?
dr.b:
Dear Mr. Bay, I have been a fan of the Transformers franchise for years and despite all the changes you made, still enjoyed the second movie. I didn't even complain about the painted Guano Ape you chose to call Devastator. I would like to say that you need to leave Predaking out of the 3d movie, because I don't think I could bear to see what awful conglomeration of crap you would use to represent him.
Sincerely, Dr. B

All we need is $$$$$....
OMEGA PRIME12:
i don't think its a transformer anymore. how almost every part of that combiner has a different color, they do not transform into individual robots and only turn into limbs, that more like a "Power rangers Mega-Zord" so im not buying it unless its 1 penny or free, plus i don't really care.

its strange, they can't put individual robot modes in the big one but they can put it in the legends figures, if i needed to put a 99 dollar price tag between the legends version and the supreme version of devastator, ill put the 99 dollar price on the legends figure.
Bumblebeast:
It's a multicoloured-monkey-voltron.

And the wait for the epic pricedrop begins!
Abso-friggin-lutely.

If it falls under a decent price i might get it for completism sake. I've seen Ultimate Bumblebees going for US$ 39 after they were US$150 or more.

So, if this "Devastator" goes for US$ 39, yeah, i'd buy it.
major revolt:
I wouldn't buy that piece of crap.
firehawc_69:
Pass, pass, and pass.

Kapow Toys is UK based and has the wave 4 Deluxes up for preorder at only a pound or two over retail prices. Well worth the extra in my opinion since there's a lot less places to find these guys these days.

They've also had wave 3 (Mudflap and Ravage are chilling in my bedroom right now) and I've seen sightings of wave 2 in stores. So Deluxes are pretty well represented.
Shin-Gouki:
It's bad enough that it's going to be $100 in the US, but charging you guys £100? That's just about $165 USD!!!!
aussiehippy:
£100? Bugger that

I had enough of a job convincing myself that HA Bumblebee was worth £30. Thankfully it turned out to be.

And the trouble is, when it doesn't sell until clearance, Hasbro UK probably take it as 'nobody wants to pay £100 price point for a TF', and we don't get any Masterpiece figures.

When what they should be thnking is 'where did we go wrong on this figure, and how can we make such a figure which would justify the price?'
Sledgehammer:
£99.99...$163.11...€116.56...however you slice it, that's a humongous pile of 'not on your bloody life, sunshine'.

They might be targetting the right demographic with the toy itself, but certainly not at that price point. Kids might want it, but the vast majority of parents sure as hell won't fork out for it (not unless they've got money to burn, which, at this moment in time, I sincerely doubt).

Gods, sometimes I wish I worked for Hasbro, just so I could point out the glaring errors in their thinking...

in what Bizarro universe? We'll be lucky if the Movie Leaders are £30 by Xmas.

That Devestator Fisher Price Megazord won't drop below £50 at all. The TRADE price has got to be at least £50 so there very little chance on the price dropping to or below that price ever let alone at xmas. Its going to stay at the full £100 until the new year at the earliest.

And give the amount of shelf space that hing takes up theres never going to be more than 2 of them out at once, or they'll be way up high taking up the highest shelf space (large items can be seen way up high)
Sinestro:
If this was at the previous supreme price point of £49.99 i might of been tempted, but at £99.99, what were Hasbro thinking? Especially with the current economic climate.

Even if you worked for them its doubtful they'd listen. Once brand and and product managers get an idea in their head its hard to shake it. Been there tried it.

THeres no getting around it Hasbro dropped a clanger on this one

It's all about the size of the box. Supreme Class Animated Prime has been sold as cheap as £10, its £20 in Smyths now. Stores WILL make a loss on something if it is taking up too much shelf space

The cost on it is probably around 50 plus VAT right now, I'll enquire and find out

Don't forget the movie will be on DVD for Christmas "Buy the movie at £20 and get Devastator for £25"

Something like that will happen

Truer words, and all that; still, also been there, tried it, and once or twice actually got people to listen. It's a result as rare as rocking horse shit, but it can happen.

Ah well, more fool them.

Nice one, I've been trawling eBay with no avail as I refuse to spend nigh on £20 for a deluxe. Both our toy shops over here have run out of wave 1 deluxes and have replaced them with HA Bumblebee, and Wave 1 scouts which I have all of anyway. I need to get as much as I can from the ROTF line before my wife catches onto what I'm up to, so this site is great for me. I thank you sir, much obliged.
