Nuremburg-Toy-Fair
2005 boards member Philister and his wife were in attendance at the Nuremburg Toy Fair, and has reported the following:

The RPMs line seems to a major success and there'll be lots of new products there. Apart from at least a dozen new RPM cars I've seen, there is a new race track / play set, titled "Bumblebee's Battle Track".

Additionally a new RPM subline called "Stealth Force" was introduced. This line consists of Voyager- and Deluxe-sized vehicles. They can't transform into robots, but they do electronically fold out weapons and other technical knick-knacks. Optimus Prime and Megatron come in Voyager-size, Bumblebee in Deluxe size.

Finally, the RPM line is rounded out by a new Bumblebee car, a remote controlled one this time. Size-wise it's somewhere between Ultimate Battle BB and Human Alliance BB.

Among the "real" Transformers we saw Leader Starscream (in the new orange packaging), Seaspray and Power Core Combiner Huffer, all old news. What I hadn't seen so far, though, were the following:
- Scout class figure Hubcap, who transforms into a red muscle car
- Scout class figure Brimstone, who transforms into a blue motorbike
- Power Core combiner Team "Aerialbots", consisting of a leader figure just below Deluxe size and four team members just below Scout size.

No sign of any War for Cybertron or Animated figures, sadly.

Could other popular teams from Generation 1 such as the Constructicons or Stunticons show up in the Power Core Combiners line to complement Superion and Bruticus?

My wife and I visited the Nuremberg Toyfare today and I went by the Hasbro booth to look at the Transformers. Here's what I saw.

I'd love to see pics of the Aerialbots. Were Hubcap and Brimstone part of the ROTF line or Powercore Combiners?

Sounds cool. I haven't gotten any of the RPM's yet, but I may get into them, depending on who gets made. A Bumblebee themed track set isn't all that surprising.

Sounds interesting. Not sure I'll get any, but I'm going to wait and see what they look like, and how detailed their gimmicks are, before passing judgment just yet. Should be interesting to see how well these things sell.

Sounds like the RC car we got lat year.

These two sound cool. I take it they were Movie-themed Scouts? or did they look more along the lines of the PCC's? Either way it should be interesting to see how these two turn out.

Sounds cool. Bruticus is getting an upgrade, so it would make sense that Superion gets one too. I'm still not sure I'll be getting any of the 5-pack PCC's, but I'm getting more and more interested in them. If I do get any, I'm not sure which part of my collection they'll go into.

Awesome news! I'll assume no photos were allowed. Did the new stuff appear to be 'Classics' in styling?
Starscream NZ:
New Aerialbots too?! Awwwwwwesome! Loving everything i'm hearing about PCC so far! Glad to get a good size comparison on the combiners too, seems that they'll be nearly as big as the ones we got in Energon. Fantastic!

No Elita-One figure sightings yet makes me sad, odd we're not seeing any other ROTF repaints or new molds after Rampage either!
Philister:
Hubcap and Brimstone were ROTF-styled Scouts, but in the new orange-yellow packaging. Hubcap is very much on my list. Brimstone... well, not so much.

And sorry, no pictures were allowed.
Veloxiraptor:
Did you get to see if all the Aerialbots had their own robot modes?
spamo123:
Cool news!
Do you know if the smaller combiner figures have individual robot modes by chance?
grimlock1972:
I hope the 5 piece PCC teams have proper hands and weapons or at the least something better than what the energon combiners had
Philister:

I only saw the four smaller team members in vehicle mode, but according to the packaging, yes, they'll all have robot modes.
Sammael:
Did you see one of the 5-member PCC teams in their combined form? How big was the combined form?

Also, is Brimstone an Autobot or a Decepticon?

Cool. It's good to know that the Scout-class will be continuing on past RotF this year. Brimstone being a motorcycle almost makes me think he's a repaint, but I'm hoping he's a new mold.

Almost another week and NY's Toy Fair will finally start. Here's hoping that we get some nice pictures of the PCC's from it. I'm really curious to see how big the 5-pack combiners will be. I don't expect them to be as big as the Energon combiners, but I am hoping that they are big enough to not look too silly standing next to my Classics figures.
Philister:
Brimstone is a new mold, and he's a Decepticon. Hubcap is an Autobot, looking somewhat like G2 Volt in vehicle mode.

I haven't seen the combined form of the PC Combiners, sadly, but from the size of the individual figures they'll be a bit smaller than the Energon combiners.
blunghole:
Sweet news, and since I'm a combiner junkie I'm really looking forward to this line.
rikkuluverx2:
The PCC line is sounding good...can't wait to get my hands on bruticus and the aerialbots! Ihope they come out with a PCC devastator...bwahaha!
Philister:
Personally I'd love to see a new Computron one of these days...
Toxicon:
Hasbro really seems to like Bruticus and Superion as of late. Let's see some Menasor-love!
AniProwl:
I hope we get a modern updates to Computron, Menasor, and Defensor.

You and me both.
Sammael:
As I thought... the PCC combiners will be small. They'll work with legends figures, but I don't collect those, so I can safely skip them (if they even appear for sale in Serbia; for instance, we didn't get any Universe 2.0 Deluxes, and only a handful of Voyagers and Ultras).
Optimus747:
Good little bit of news. I've really liked (most of) the RotF Scouts, so I look forward to new ones. Also cool to hear news of another PCC combiner set...though I kind of wish we'd gotten something other than Bruticus and Superion considering they recently had Bruticus/Superion.
Hopefully those will be successful, so that we might see Defensor, Computron, Menasor, and maybe even Predaking and Abominus.

Were any release dates given? I'm particularly interested in Leader Starscream's release date, as well as any release date for the PCC line.
Philister:
I only got a very general time frame that "most of these toys will come out second and third quarter 2010". So make of that what you will.
RedAlert Rescue:
It's a bit silly to delay things so long in Europe - I always feel its madness that often during the time the kids are on their school holidays the shelves are empty of toys - missing out on loads of potential sales - they seems still obssessed in selling water pistols and balls despite that kids play outside less than they did in the 1970's & 80's - and the toy retail and manufacturing sector does not seem to understand that even if you do play outside you might like to play with action figures outside.

(I've witnessed people doing this with Action Man and Star Wars).. heck think about it some of the Star Wars vehicles are so huge that if you have a nice lawn and the weathers good its an ideal place to sit out and recreate the Battle of Endor on.

Say PHILISTER did you see any red packaging at all - as I'm confussed by the difference between the use of red cards and yellow boxes.

Did you see anything that can clear that up at all ?
Bgrngod:
Aerialbots? HELLO!!

Interested. Definitely interested.

Thanks for the news Phillister. Can't wait to see some images!

Pretty much all of the non-RPM toys were in the new yellow-orange packaging that reads only "TRANSFORMERS".
MrByatis:
Brimstone has me interested for some reason
Sage o' G-fruit:
Stunticons or GTFO.

Personally, my theory is that they couldn't decide which design to go with, so they decided to use the red style for the carded figures, and the yellow style for the boxed figures. They could also be trying something new, to see how well the line does if the carded and boxed figures have different colored packaging. Which pretty much just adds even more confusion to the already confusing line made up of several different themes.
baggzey23:
what ANOTHER r/c bumblebee

still no sign of elita-1/flareup

i dont like the look of the new orange packaging (reminds me a bit too much of bumblebee and looks a bit kidish) should have gears everywhere and it should be dark themed
Vince:
Anyone know if the arielbot/ combaticons' altmodes are realistic like Universe or more techy-futuristic stuff like Energon/ Cybertron???

I only got half way through reading the top of this story before I burst out laughing. I bring you from the Sea Spray thread...

Yeah, I'm pretty much freaking the freak out. I hope he's red instead of yellow, but either way BOUGHT, and he will ride his friend Seaspray for ever and ever and ever...

Hey Philister, thanks for the information! Did the Aerialbots look more realistic than the Energon versions? What kind of jets did you see? Most importantly, how was the articulation for the combined mode and separate robot modes? That's a deal breaker for me, very rarely do I buy something without full articulation(leader ROTF Megatron and his non-elbowed right arm was a rare exception).

Yes indeed, very excited about Aerialbots! Combine into Superion!
Th0r4z1n3:
I'm thinking the Aerialbots might be the 5 figure legends combiner that showed up in the Target systems that were such and enigma? That's be really cool
Deadend:
Sounds so awesome, can't wait for the US toy fair to see them!
And it seems the sizes are a mish mash, not quite legends, but not quite scouts. Sounds promising, easy on the wallet, and should fit on a shelf well.

Only bad news....
That red car we saw before sounds like Hubcap, so no drift T_T

Oh wells, if the line and other lines prove fruitful, maybe soon we'll see more awesome to go along with how great all these sound.
NCStarscream:
Thanks for the info. I'm massively depressed that the wait for Starscream will be longer than I expected, though.

That is f***ing awesome! I can not wait to see it.
What kind of a bike was Brimstone? Just a general motorbike, like Knockout?

The PCC Superion is rather interesting. Would be cool if this does lead up to more-if not all-the major combiner teams getting new figures.
Devastator would be interesting, given it might clear up the question of whether or not PCC is in fact a spin off movie line, or something completely new.
Kaymac:
They should definitely give us a new Menasor. That would be awesome.
ComicGuy89:
Any news of combiners is a good thing! I hope they've improved their engineering and made this one more stable.

Thanks Philister!
RedAlert Rescue:
Isn't Drift part of the Transformers Generations line (of Deluxes) along with the War For Cybertron items.

And not a Scout. so I think we will still see Drift a the New York Toy Fair.

------------

I'm sorry I keep going on about the packaging so much - but it's twisting my mind a bit.

I was even wondering if the Red Packaging shown with Sideswipe in it - is not even Movie packaging at all but actually Generations Packaging.

---------

It just seems so very odd to me to start with ROTF packaging in 2009 - then slightly change that to NEST packaging, then slightly change that to a new red card with the deluxes (who knows about the scouts).... while at the same time

The Voyagers got ROTF/ ROTF : NEST and then change to yellow !! - it's not even colors specific to the size class as that new Bumblebee is also in a yellow box. which is why i'm still pondering the idea that non-movie toys come in red boxes.

---

PHILSTER ???

Were the scouts on red cards or yellow ?

And did you get a better look at the coloring of the Powercore combiners cards.

I'd be interested to read you describe how the 5 pack Powercore combiners were packaged if you saw that ?

Many thanks in advance.
The_Black_Sheep:
RPMs are successful? *shakes head* I kinda hoped they'd go away...

It looks like I won't be buying that many TFs this year. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing...
neospark1:
Woo!

Bring on Menasor and Computron!
U.Magnus80:
Oh man. I'm gettin giddy over here!!
spamo123:
Awesome stuff to know Philister! Thanks.
Did you get any prices for these guys?
Getting really excited about those combiners. Hope they have articulation..
PrimulArchangel:
Cool news , im liking these power core figures...I would have gotten pictures lol. I would just set my digital camera to video record mode and wear it around my neck and just let it record lol , have done that many manytimes lol
