Something has popped up on Twitter that may be of interest to our readers who are looking forward to Transformers 3. Thanks to the great phone camera work of jeffa1m1ghty, we now have shots of what looks to be Optimus Prime’s trailer on the streets of Chicago!
The trailer appears to have similarities to the classic G1 design, with some minor updates. No word yet if this will actually be a trailer that Prime pulls in the movie, or if this is something on set for other purposes. Click the thumbnail for the images.

Nice!

I didn't want to say it, but same here. The idea of a remote-controlled drone is kind of interesting, but it doesn't fit a character like Prime.
Bumblethumper
That makes two of us. Now that I think of it, I didn't really like Roller in G1 either.
DecepticonsRule
For some reason, I don't really want to see Roller in TF3. I don't know why, but I just don't like the idea of him in Movieverse.
Cmdr Prime
Sweeeeet nice one

I absolutely love how G1 it looks! Brings back memories

Opticron Primal
Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaah……highly doubt that.

Last year, I wrote to hasbro and made alot of complaints about the second, and one was there was no trailor for Optimus Prime. I beleive Hasbro told Micheal Bay to have Optimus to have it as well as the other ideas i told them. I hope it turns into a base .
Ceasar121
Naw Orci and Kurtzman aren't writing this. Its Ehren Kruger….
Tho I agree no writers strike and Bay scripting has to be of benefit.
Weremole
The new writers is the same writers as ROTF (and Fringe). There is just no writers strike and Bay cowriting. Even then it still depends. A movie like this is usually not something you can "author".
The trailer itself was left out for obvious reasons before (where does it go?, how do we fit it in?). Now they most likely found a reason for it. It's also the end-cap movie so it whas probably now or never.
About the trailers use… Well, you wouldn't have a high speed chase scene with a command center at least.
Poho
agreed. a movieverse roller would totally rawk.

Oh… it's a real company. Thought I mighta been onto something there.
Still, with the NEST logo on there too, it makes me wonder…

I'd guess the tandems are forward because it offers maximum manuverablity. Seeing as there's no weight in the box, why not set it so the driver can get around the tight spaces of a movie shoot?
Also, I'd note the trailer appears to be a dry van with a refer unit attached to the head. (and painted up)
Again, movie magic. No need to buy a REAL refer unit since there's nothing to cool, but the end cap looks better than a box head.

The truck has a logo for Blackey's Rocken Express.
They are a car transport company that is featured on Hagerty's site.
That being said… it's safe to say that it's just to transport the props for the movie.

HOLY MOTHER!!!!! Optimus has a trailer wowwwww……damn how much is his figure going to be when it hits too! I really cant wait to see his trailer in action.

YEEEEEEEE-HAAAaaaaaa!!! I just got in the Movie 1 Voyager. I'm going to want it modded to accomodate this new development (or at least a "Combat Deck-y" version thereof).
Because that, mes amis, is a 53' trailer. (You learn a little something when you live next to a railroad with 30-40% intermodal frieght traffic.) It makes me harken back to listening to "Sun Raid", the cassette story that came with Yellow Cliffjumper. The woman Cliffjumper was assigned to protect referred to Optimus Prime as "the biggest truck she'd ever seen." Right now, a 53-foot single road trailer fits the bill.
(Ooooooo, now I want a movie Prime trailer for my Lionel Trailer-Train/TTX flatcars!)

Bay would want to top Jet Prime. Here's what they explored for ROTF:

The tannish-colored one, the one we all thought was Motormaster.

Which is the Shelby Truck?
