New Wal Mart Exclusive Three Pack The Legacy of Bumblebee 99_11562_bfd9cc751101fe8
A big thanks to clonemanager of our 2005 Boards who directed us to some pictures that have been posted on ACtoys.net of a new Wal-Mart Exclusive Three Pack, called "The Legacy of Bumblebee". This special set includes Classics, Movie Premium Series and Animated Deluxe Bumblebee. Of special interest is the Classics Bumblebee, who has received a small repaint for this release - he now sports black stripes instead of the original white and his Wave Crusher jet ski now has more yellow on it, but differently placed to its Transformers Henkei release.

Storm:
I will get, my classics bumblebee has a crack on the top of his screen and the premium series and animated haven't struck yet.

If it's £20 I'll bite, if more than £25 I won't.
alien:
wow~ must have man~~
MWG:
Wonder if this'll be a "Black Friday" special? Still, I like the Classics Bee recolor (and skipped Cliffjumper), have yet to get a movie BB (thinking seriously about the Premium tho), and may skip Animated BB for this one.

trebleshot:
The classics mold is only thing that's tempting me at this point. I already have all three molds, but I do like the unifying color scheme. If I do get it, it will probably stay boxed.

I'm starting to think the movie "The Matrix" is actually real & I'm inside it right now.
So do you like the set or not?

I'm starting to wonder if you make these posts just to see what reaction you get. So far, you've only been able to comment on other people's reactions, yet you have not favored us with your own.

If that's your thing, then do what you want to do. I can't tell you who to sock it to...

I feel your pain. Especially since my wife knows I have at least one version of each of those toys already. Three more that I probably won't even open might send her into a conniption fit.
Megatronwp38:
that's sharp
Nocturn:
Wow... variant+premium mass release+mass release garners a special three-pack? Damn.
Dropshot:
It's a cool set, and Classic Bee looks better than ever, but there's something that doesn't convince me about getting this.
BumbleVeeNH:
You know I'm a BB fanatic, and I'm buying this....but seriously why? I'm already hundo's deep in BB trans, guess you need to go back to the well for money.
Railguard:
Wow!! When does this actually come out? I have got to get this!!!
omega ranger:
Great. Classics Bumblebee is a redeco. I will call this one Goldbug. Yes.

I don't have Premium or Animated or Classics "Goldbug" Bumblebee yet, so I will get this pack. Thank You Hasbro.
Blackimus Prime:
I'm definitely getting this one! No doubt it'll be released sometime in June considering Animated BB will be out anound then.
cappeca:
I really liked it. It's the kind of toy I'd buy just to keep sealed, very nice set.
Beastbot X:
Didn't pick up Premium Movie BB, though if I find this set before I find the regular carded Animated BB, I'll bite. If I see the regular carded Animated toy first, though... well, don't think I'll be able to resist just because I might find a cooler-looking Classics Bumblebee later on.
Kimmer:
if only that movie garbage wasn't in there, then i'd probably buy this to keep misb even though i already have a classics bb.
SPLIT LIP:
I'm getting this just to keep in the box.

My Bumblebee collection grows...

Exactly what I was thinking. Walmart has erratic distribution of their exclusives. Sometimes you see tons, other times you never even see them...

Online seems to be the only sure way of getting them...
Obvious Prime:
DO WANT. Now I don't have to buy Premium 'Bee. I'm glad I didn't buy Animated 'Bee at Botcon. And I love that deco on Classics 'Bee.
Powersa:
Hopefully $20 for three deluxes (w/ two repaints).
bhaalistik:
Isn't it usually normal for ACToys to post things at least 2 months before we see a hint of it state-side? I wouldn't hold my breath waiting to see this pack on shelves anytime soon...looks pretty sweet though! Assuming Walmart will stick to usual pricing, 3 deluxes will most likely tag the set at 29.99 (just a guess though).
Cesium Salami:
I am definately gonna pick this set up when it comes out. The yellow and black deco on Classics Bumblebee is an awesome improvement, since an actual Bumblebee isn't yellow and white! The only thing I think of when I see yellow and white is a Twinkee, and I'll take some of those too!
Trek:
Did Movie Premium Bumblebee have the Stealth Bumblebee head then? The one in this triple certainly does.

*EDIT* Nevermind, found a pic and it does.

You could do this with Prime and Megatron. But Prime had a two pack of movie FAB and the classics two pack prime, and was a Wal-Mart exclusive. For Megatron classics two pack Megatron, with FAB movie Megatron and the two pack animated Megatron. Couldn't really do it with Starscream he doesn't have a deluxe mold in animated yet. Hasbro'd have to use the activator SS. You MIGHT also get away with it for Prowl. Universe Prowl-Barricade-animated Prowl.

I hope not. Last year's Black Friday two-packs never showed up in the two Wal-Mart stores near me.

That was my thought too. I really don't think we'll be seeing this set on the shelves in June.
WhiteMocha:
Wow... neat little three-pack! I'm tempted to get two just to keep one displayed in the box... it looks quite cool like that.

Too bad they couldn't have tossed in a little G1 Bumblebee as well.... even if it was a keychain.
ChrisW:
I have no interest in Movie Premium 'Bee since I already have regular Movie Concept 'Bee. I don't really like Animated 'Bee and wasn't planning to get him. On the other hand, I don't have Classics 'Bee and swapping white for black makes him look so much better! I'd get the redecoed Classics 'Bee in a heartbeat if it was available separately.

That being said, it's still a nice set given the difficulties most people had with getting movie 'Bee.
ponn01:
I'd buy it. Never going to find it though.
Deefuzz:
Great, now my house will be full of Bumblebees
NeoGutsman:
Wow, this is a really terrific set. The fact that they included Classics BB is a really nice touch. I do think the black accents are nice in robot mode, and the black arms and legs are very nice, too. The black in car mode looks a little out of place to me, but that's just me. Really, that was an unexpected but awesome way to bring him back.

I was happy to see that they included Premium BB, as well as Animated. Like others here, I do wish they included G1 BB, but what we have here is still one of the coolest bundles ever. I can't wait to get it and have all of them decorate my desk at work
Omegatron1:
A fantastic set. And great timing, too, as I was wondering whether or not to buy Premium Bee. The answer is...not yet.
Skywave:
What a great set! Can Hasbro stop making repaint better than the orignal ? I hate to buy the same character twice, but that Classics Bumblebee make this set a winner for me, I definitly want one. I already have the 3 mold, but I might be able to sell my double Premiums Bee and Animated Bee to a friend or something.

And from now on, I want Bumblebee with some black deco/stripes, no more white please
UltraDevmodious:
if i can even find this exclusive i will get it.
Fosterlager:
Nice. They should do a Starscream set like this.
LXL_Guy:
I didn't have a chance to get classics BB when it was first released so, finding this set would be nice for sure. Too bad it had to be a Wal-Mart Exclusive. Oh well...anyone here happen to know of a tentative release date on this?!
bigkid24:
Looks good but I'll never find it.

Take the blue pill and free us all .... lol
Otispq:
If I pick this up, it's only goin on the shelf. MISB since otherwise it couldn't justify buying the classics and movie versions again...
Grimlock_13:
Very tempting. I couldn't care less about Animated BB, but the new Paint job on Classics BB looks awesome. And I wasn't going to get the Premium BB, but man....this might be an impulse buy on my part.
Pauly T:
Every time I look at this 3-pack, I can't help but sing to myself, "One of these things is not like the others..."
dark69:
animated BB is to big
LatinJEM777:
A must get since I don't have movie BB anymore, and I don't have animated BB yet!
Hollywood Hoist:
I'll be all over this. I may be buying a couple sets.
Rayzilla Prime:
MINE!!! I was going to get Henkei Bumblebee, but this looks like a better deal. Three Bees I don't have (yet ).

Stay out of the Transformers aisle kids, or I'll run you over.
IronhideTF:
Release date?
Ravenxl7:
Interesting 3-pack. I really like the deco on Classics Bumblebee, but honestly, I have no interest in the other two. Combine that with the fact I don't shop at Walmart any more, basically means there's no way I'll be getting this set. I might try and see if I can buy just the Classics BB off of someone who doesn't want it, though I'm not sure who wouldn't want it, lol.
ckhtiger:
classics black-striped bumblebee + new head = classics bumper or hubcap in my book.
Incepticon:
I'm probably going to get flamed to the point of being cremated for saying this, but...

While I *do* think this set is a great representation of the 3 main Transformers series Hasbro plans to focus on now, only one of those figures actually looks like a Transformer to me (yeah yeah, I know, insert the "WTF is a Transformers supposed to look like!?" retorts here, hehe). In my personal/humble/meager opinion, seeing these designs styles side by side really emphasizes exactly how "parts explosion" alien bug looking the Movie aesthetic is and how over the top kiddy the Animated aesthetic is. I think the Animated version especially stands out and really drives home the fact that they're clearly aiming for an even younger demographic with that particular series. I personally predict most kids who get these bought for them (8 years & older) will absolutely flip over Classics Bumblebee since most of them have never seen this version, while Animated Bumblebee will either strike a chord with anyone younger or be given to little sisters because of the overly "cute" factor. Not sure where that leaves Movie Bumblebee.

And I mean no disrespect to anyone who likes all 3 of these. I'm not saying that Movie or Animated totally sucks in comparison to Classics, so please factor that in before you proceed to rip apart my post I just think that when you take the Movie & Animated design styles out of context with the series they're a part of and put them beside each other, it becomes a lot more evident of *how* different each line really is. But in a weird way, I *do* also respect the variation Hasbro is able to come up with, regardless if I can only personally relate to 1 out of the 3.

Moving on, I think it makes perfect sense for Hasbro to release a 3-pack like this since Bumblebee is such a main character in each series, maintains the same color scheme in each one, and is a uniform Deluxe size class. Save for *maybe* a similar styled version featuring Deluxe or Voyager sized Prime's, I can't see them doing the same sort of thing with anyone else. The differences between Classics, Movie & Animated Megatron or Starscream, for example, are *so* extreme that I think it would be a hard sell for kids & parents alike.

Just my Friday morning 2 cents over a cup of java & cigarrette

No flames here. I think that's exactly the point of the set: showing how differently the same character has incarnated over time. And I believe it will be an exclusive precisely because it has shelfwarmer/collector's item written all over it. At least half of the people here, including myself, will buy just to keep it sealed - it's gonna be hard to find kids that relate to all of them, let alone convince their parents to buy a bunch of toys together when they want just one. Even harder now that TF:A will be hitting shelves, and kids will finally be able to find bbb on his own card.

I mean, for guys like me that take these kind of pics just for fun

this set is totally full of win.
videriant:
