Guh...I wish they'd just show us the goddamn toy, already. If this was some kind of artfully constructed official teaser campaign, then I'd be a lot more receptive to all this smoke and mirrors, but this is a down 'n' dirty leak by Chinese toy thieves, and not worth all this showboating in the slightest. Let me see the whole thing properly, then I can actually make my mind up as to whether this was even worth the fuss or not.

I don't think they are doing FAB's this time around. They will probably stick with activators since they are better

Looks like another Epic Fail design to me...Another classic character ruined by Bayformers...

Does every photo of this thing need to look like bad. The first batch were amazingly blurry these look like they are all lit from behind and then there is the flash of light that looks photoshoped in the robot form photo.

Too similar to movie Megs in various ways for me.

I'll probably like it more when I see how it's used in the movie. Maybe he even has three forms or something crazy?

I'm referring to several months ago, when some Legends-class prototypes/test shots showed up on TF08.net. The pics have since been removed there (and were removed from TFW as well).

Not crazy about it. Alt mode doesn't look like it locks together. It just looks like a bunch of parts loosely positioned to make a ship-like form. I hate that.

Bot mode isn't so bad, but is a bit kibbly. On the plus side, at least it doesn't seem to have chicken legs.

You should delete that. And yeah, it was the SR-71 proto that he meant. Its bot and jet mode seems kinda similar to this Soundwave. Might be mere coincidence, or that we were tricked into thinking that the SR-71 was jetfire.

Looking at all of the pics,I really think this is Soundwave. He has all the right colors: grey, blue, red, and yellow. His head looks very similar to g1. I think his chest opens up too.

Am hoping the newer pics are just at a different angle than the previous pic making him look like he has shorter legs.

What about if the alt mode is supposed to be more upright like if the "jet nose" was the bottom and the "wings" were the sides of the satellite? Does that make sense for a satellite mode from Cybertron?

Either way I'm glad the movie is coming so I can take a break from buying and get back to customizing

That's actually a minicon from Armada. Sad thing is it looks better than the actual ROTF SR 71 figure that was leaked ealier in the year.

I suppose why I'm opposed to the idea is simply protection. With the head in plain sight in vehicle mode, the head won't be defended from not only attacks and threats, but from normal hazards like the vehicle rolling over and such. Your explanation does make a lot of sense though; I had never thought about it that way before! Thanks!


I thought for certain that a report came in stating that there would be 64 Transformers 2 toys altogether, counting basic, deluxe, voyager, leader, and fast action battles, along with the repaints that are planned for each. Also, that this report was not counting other merchandise into the total.


As for the figure's similarities to Vector Prime, I guess this proves Vector Prime correct. Some Transformers aren't here to blend!

I'm just kinda meh about it. I'll wait till I see some really good pics and see if I warm up to it. I'm reserving judgement till then.

Something strikes me odd about the altmode....with all the clearer plastic I'm wondering if it aint the legends/FAB shown in alt mode while the other(delluxe/voyager) is the bot one.

Love the robot mode, just gotta warm up to the alt.

Looks pretty good. I don't mind that his alt mode looks similar to VP. I'm sure the full satellite will be different enough.

Anyway, it kinda looks like that his chest panels close-open to reveal the blue orbs.

I'm really starting to think that they're his sound emmitors/weapons.

I like this... he actually looks really cool!

My only real complaint is that I'm starting to get really tired of the ape-bot aesthetic that's been getting more and more prominent in recent lines. All these broad torsos and tiny legs are giving me Masters of the Universe flashbacks!
